I have two caregivers who are friendly, helpful and understanding. Interesting to talk to we have a lot of fun and laughter. Excellent friends.

I cannot praise the people at Home Instead highly enough. In a phenomenally difficult position, Home Instead went from one hour a day to 24 hours a day caring for my mum who cannot do anything for herself, within the space of two hours. The carers were so very kind and looked after her above and beyond
anything we may have expected.

Home Instead Senior Care (Harrogate) came by recommendation and we were not disappointed. My mother required (daily) three hourly visits following discharge from hospital rehabilitation. The three months home care allowed her to decide for herself on residential care and say goodbye to a home she had
lived in for 16 years.
All staff are to be commended for their kindness, patience and forbearance at times when my mother could be a challenging client.

Excellent, knowledgeable and sympathetic staff. Both visiting carers and admin staff. Nothing too much trouble. Well worth the cost. We especially liked that carers were not rigid in the time allowed for their visit and we have no issue with additional charges because of it.

Cannot praise and thank Home Instead enough for looking after Dad. From the initial 'cold call' the care manager put our minds at rest with her calm and experienced voice to the carers querying his medication and offering to accompany him for a medication review. During Dad's recent hospital stay, we
were impressed that the carers have popped in and said 'hello' to him (out of their paid contract). Not only are all the staff that attended to Dad chatty and friendly, they have professionally attended to his personal care, domestic chores and dietary needs. I have no hesitation in recommending or using Home Instead again.

Home Instead were recommended to us by the occupational therapist at the hospital.


I cannot praise the service provided highly enough. At all times my in-laws were treated with care and dignity. The team went out of their way to provide us with the support we needed. They were professional but

friendly at all times.
I would recommend Home Instead without hesitation.

We have been very impressed with the carer who has shown compassion and an excellent understanding of mums needs and in a respectful manner.
Timekeeping has been a constant problem but we understand that this is in the process of being rectified.

Home Instead have helped our family at the most difficult of times. Carers have shown my mum kindness, support and love and sought to do everything they could provide her with comfort, dignity and safety.
We will be forever grateful for their individual, unique care.
In addition, the carers have supported
the whole family, building strong, supportive relationships and providing a listening ear, practical support and a shoulder to cry on.

Home Instead were contacted after my 97-year-old mother was discharged from hospital. We had an extended holiday planned and thought that it might be necessary, given the circumstances, to cancel it. The Manager and her team stepped into the breach and filled in the gap effectively, efficiently and
at modest cost.

Sheena was Head of Facilities Management for a large global training organisation for over 10 years prior to taking a short career break to have a family. Like many of her generation, she faced the dilemma of looking after her own children whilst coping with the increasing demands of supporting her parents as they grew older.


Sheena's mother lived with Alzheimer's Disease and required daily support from a team of carers. This experience was the driving force behind her decision to open a Home Instead office of her own.


Sheena enjoys supporting her local community, including the voluntary sector, by offering free workshops in such areas as understanding dementia or scam awareness. As well as being a business owner, Sheena also holds a number of voluntary trustee positions she has maintained with local community groups and charities.

Before opening the Home Instead office for Harrogate, Ripon & Thirsk, Andrew worked as a Senior Manager for a large FTSE top-10 company, gaining extensive experience in all aspects of customer and service delivery to an exceptional high standard.


Andrew was attracted to the ethos of Home Instead after seeing how Home Instead can make a real difference to people living in their own homes, as well as providing employment opportunities in the community.


Married to Sheena, Andrew enjoys walks in the beautiful Nidderdale countryside with his family and faithful pooch, Ripley.
