As the first home care provider in the country to be rated 'Outstanding' three times in a row by the CQC (most recently December 2020), the Home Instead (Wimbledon and Kingston) office is very proudly owned by Clare Jefferies who herself struggled for five years to find the right sort of care for both her parents who were terminally ill.

Being a daughter and dealing with this first hand, gave her a clear understanding of the need for quality, compassionate care, which is flexible and built around the needs and aspirations of the client.

Many clients choose Home Instead because of the companionship-based care it provides where much effort is given towards matching the right care giver with each client and ensuring consistent service of each care giver with each client. Through this attention to detail, its caregivers often establish strong bonds with clients and clients' families and become valued companions.

Its care and support ranges from companionship to home help services and personal care through to specialised dementia care. It is recognised for the quality of Alzheimer's and dementia care and even has a City and Guilds accredited training programme that provides staff with the tools to provide the best care possible.

It’s as much about the training as it is the people it employs at Home Instead – passionate and warm-hearted care givers who recognise that it’s the little things that make the difference.

Home Instead have been providing a carer service to my friend since the end of December 2019. The company was able to put this into place at very short notice and has continued to provide excellent service since then. My friend lives alone in a flat and the small team of ladies who look after her, visiting
twice a day, has been a lifeline providing assistance with dressing, laundry, cleaning, tidying and more recently with shopping and food preparation. They have also provided great companionship and got to know her and she enjoys hearing about their families. The management of the organisation is exemplary, with regular assesments and daily visit reports which can be viewed by myself and by members of her family overseas using an app. This enables any issues to be identified early and addressed. I heartily recommend the service.

My experience so far has been satisfactory. It is based on only a few visits as the lockdown constraints were imposed soon after I started. My visits have only just started with a new carer but to date, both carers have been very caring and understanding of my wife's condition and shown empathy with
her.

Such a revelation after our previous carers. We know what we wanted after our previous experience, and our expectations were fully understood and implemented.

My wife passed away two days ago.
Until the coronavirus lockdown, carers from Home Instead (Wimbledon) had been providing my wife with personal care and support for up to 8-hours each week for a period of three years. All the carers were wonderful: sympathetic, supportive and helpful. They made my
wife's life more comfortable as her mobility diminished and they displayed great patience as dementia, secondary to behavioural variant frontotemporal degeneration, ate away her brain.
I would have no hesitation in giving them the highest accolade. Nothing was too much trouble. Although I was able to provide most of her personal care, their support meant that I could have a little time for myself every week. Their support has been invaluable. My heartfelt thanks go to all of them.

We have both been clients of Home Instead Senior Care from 2015 and since that time we have only experienced, maybe once a year, when we have been let down. We have both found the carers have been well-trained and understanding of the situations they have had to cope with. We have become friends and
they are absolutely trustworthy.

We get good service. The carers are thoughtfully kind and always willing to help if there is a problem. We would be lost without their kindness. I am impressed by how the carers remember where things are put. It is good that we nearly always have the same carer. This way they really get to know the
client and are able to talk to him about things he is interested in; makes his day. Washing him is done with great dignity.

I have always been very happy with Home Instead. If I have any queries; they are dealt with very quickly. The carers I have are wonderful, real carers. The care is quite expensive, but I always say "you can't take it with you".

Home Instead has given me peace of mind. My Mum has Alzheimer's so everyday tasks are difficult. My Mum is unable to do everyday tasks like personal care, cooking meals, keeping the house clean etc. The carers do all of these things, also give twice-daily medication. The same carers are used and I am
informed of any changes, also if Mum is unwell. The carers are very patient with Mum and treat her with dignity. I will be using Home Instead for myself when I need to.

I can’t begin to tell you the peace of mind I now have; knowing my Mum and Dad are in safe hands.
Having experienced different carers for quite some time, the difference in care, professionalism, with Home Instead is outstanding. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to others.
Thank you
so much!

It was amazing that all my mother's regular caregivers managed to find the time and change their own plans to help and to be a companion to my mother when I was ill with flu. They usually only do nights and juggled themselves to be able to look after her during the day. They were special stars and took
her out in their cars and kept her happy.

Home Instead Wimbledon is the first agency I have experienced. It provides carers to sit with my mother when I am out of the house. I was apprehensive about using an agency but was recommended Home Instead Wimbledon. I can only truly form an opinion from my experience which is that this agency has been
truly outstanding. I can hardly believe how efficient it is and the very fine, suitable, well trained, kind carers provided: my mother adores them. And behind the scenes the organisation is supreme. Different requests or changes to normal are taken in their stride and there seems such genuine courtesy throughout the operation. Brilliant. How fortunate we are.
Reply from Clare Jefferies at Home Instead (Wimbledon & Kingston)This review has brought tears to my eyes! I set the company to provide the best care we possibly could to our clients. And judging by this review - we really are getting it right! Very very proud!

On behalf of my wife, I’ve been a client for at least six years. In the early days, Administration was rough, particularly in the area of billing and provision of locums.

Those rough days are long gone. Administration earns 10/10. Accounts are rendered on time and the management of locums is faultless.

We

are fortunate to have had the services of a top carer throughout our association.

To go further would be OTT.

Home Instead provide a marvellous service and they have provided first class care to both my parents. Home Instead were recommended to me by multiple friends and on countless occasions have gone above and beyond.
My parents look forward to each visit and the carers are all patient, professional and
knowledgeable about my parent's health conditions.
I have complete faith in the team and they have provided me and my family much needed peace of mind.

I believe that Home Instead Senior Care has become outstanding for several reasons. The carers were hand-picked and accurately matched with clients. Once a call has been completed I feel I have been well looked after. They have very good initiative and invariably suggest how to overcome any problems
no matter how big or small. I have been with them for four and a half years and have rarely met a caregiver who is not up to the usual high standard.
The schedulers always find a caregiver who will cover holiday. I think that for what must be an extremely difficult job they carry it out extremely well. They nearly always find carers for sick leave very quickly.

  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.871 for Home Instead (Wimbledon & Kingston) is calculated as follows: ( (61 Excellents x 5) + (9 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 70 Ratings = 4.871
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

    The 5 points available are broken down as follows: 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.5 Points for the second and third Positive Reviews, 0.25 Points for each of the next two Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.25, 5th = 0.25, 6th = 0.05, 7th = 0.05, 8th = 0.05, 9th = 0.05, 10th = 0.05, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025)

    The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Home Instead (Wimbledon & Kingston) is based on 12 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4.8
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
