With no knowledge of what care packages were available, we went with a recommendation and we are so thankful we did.
Dad has a dedicated team of the same 6 carers.
I've met everyone from this professional and positive team.
They show Dad nothing but kindness and respect.
We are always kept informed of any problems as they occur and action that is being taken.
Our advice is sought when necessary.
The Leigh-On-Sea carers and office staff care for my Dad and also me and my two sisters.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review our services we are delighted to be of such positive help.
The family researched extensively about care services beforehand. We have been extremely pleased with the level and quality of care and support provided to my mother. Any concerns raised by Doris Jones, about my mother or father have been communicated to me immediately and I have been able to act quickly, to prevent my parents often going into hospital. This has saved any distress to my mother who has dementia and reduced added pressure to the family.
Any problems I have raised with Doris Jones have always been dealt with promptly and politely by the care and office staff.
Speaking with my parents they also confirm that they have never had any concerns and are happy with the care.
Thank you for your review. We are delighted that you are happy with the service and it has helped to relieve the pressure for the extended family.
My Mother has a Doris Jones Carer to visit her in her nursing home and take her out once a week. She really enjoys the visits and being taken out and doing something different, this gives her something to look forward too. We have also used the services of Doris Jones in the past when my Mother lived independently in her own home.
The carers have always been reliable, punctual and professional in their duties. I would not hesitate to recommend Doris Jones.
Thank you for your review. We are happy to visit people in the local care homes as a way to continue their familiarity with our staff and to keep a friendly face when families live far away or are at work.
The carers provided by Doris Jones Ltd were kind, caring, professional and presentable, my mother liked them very much.
However, the admin of the company falls below. Failing to inform carers of key codes, failing to inform carer of the person moving back home, to transfer one there. Billing issues - incorrect amounts, untimely correction.
We are extremely grateful for the positive words about our carers. We hope that your mother continues to benefit from our care. With regard to the administrative issues mentioned, our team has been in contact to apologise and address any concerns. If at any time a client or family member has issues...
Good, well looked after.
My grandparents' health deteriorated last year, and they could no longer cope. After some unfortunate incidents with council assigned care companies, Doris Jones Ltd was recommended by a social worker, and we have not looked back.
Before starting, staff came to meet my grandparents and get to know them, recording their particular requests. Everything was all noted down, from how they like their toast cut to their favourite hobbies.
When my grandmother was hospitalised, Doris Jones were flexible about providing care for my grandfather, making last minute adjustments, and even taking him to the hospital. Their 24-hour phone number meant that we could get in touch with them at any time.
Carers are professional, trustworthy, kind and supportive, and get to know their clients. Accommodating office staff are contactable via phone or email, and always alert me if they think there's a problem. They act in the best interest of the client at all times. We'd gladly recommend them.
From using a different care service previously for my granddad, my mother and I were very unhappy with the service given and weary to try another, but Doris Jones has completely changed our views, they are very professional and helpful, but most importantly do their very best for my granddad!
Any problems I had with individual carers (rare) were addressed immediately. We sometimes had problems if a member of staff was off. Mum had 4 visits a day. I really liked the fact that I could go online and view Mum's roster for the future. The admin staff were supportive and happy to help with changes or problems as and when they occurred. Mum had a variety of "girls" over time and she got on with them all, they were all kind & caring. Carers are not made to cut visits shorts due to travelling time etc and were punctual and left the house clean and tidy...The prices did increase as time passed but I didn't want to downgrade so we continued to pay! The consistency of staff was really important to both Mum and me.
My aunt (86 years of age and of critical health) left hospital and needed urgent care to continue that provided from hospital social care. At extreme short notice Doris Jones Ltd carried out, with total empathy to our needs, an assessment and quickly took on care duties to avoid disruption of care. Throughout the four months to my aunt's sad death, the nature of the care needs constantly required re-assessment and change as the acuteness of illness increased, but Doris Jones were totally well equipped to cope with sudden requirements to extend, and latterly, to suspend, care shift patterns. We found the management and staff to be extremely conscious of its duty of care, with whom we could easily and mutually liaise on any matters of concern - particularly regarding the difficulties with self medication by my aunt, which was expertly managed by Doris Jones staff and also my aunt's self inflicted poor food intake. The carers were very punctual, with the agency's management in general controls and reporting systems of a very high standard. I speak for myself and my other (carer) sisters that we would not hesitate to recommend this care agency to anyone in need.
Doris Jones Ltd is a wonderful caring company. The carers are brilliant- nothing is too much trouble.
The owner recruits carers who all have their hearts in the right place and seem to be kind and like the residents. We were very happy with the speed at which the level of care could be changed at such short notice as our mothers needs changed. All staff are friendly and willing and we have confidence in them. Ps. This is a small business and we feel this is important for availability causes.

Meet the Team (2)
Hello! My name is Caroline, and back in 2011, I had what felt like a rather bold idea—to set up a homecare agency.
At the time, I was working as a physiotherapist and regularly came across care companies while supporting clients in the community. I could see that not everything was being done as well as it could be—and I believed I could do better.
Many years later, we’ve had the privilege of supporting hundreds of local people and their families. We’re proud to have built a fantastic reputation across the Southend-on-Sea area, both among the public and within health and social care professions. Since 2019, we’ve also been rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission.
I’m incredibly proud of the team we’ve built, and together we are committed to doing everything we can to support you and your loved ones.
Hi, my name is Cara, and as Registered Manager at Doris Jones, I oversee all aspects of the care and support we provide to our clients and their families.
Like Caroline, I have a long background in physiotherapy, so the “physio-led” approach at Doris Jones makes perfect sense to me. I strongly believe that supporting people to remain as physically able as possible has many benefits, not least helping them live well at home, if that's where they are happiest.
If you happen to call for a chat about our services or to arrange a home visit, there’s a good chance we’ll speak or meet. But whoever you talk to, I can assure you the Doris team will take good care of you.
