Great friendly service and I would recommend them to anyone looking for care. My son is very happy with the care that’s provided to him and if he’s happy I’m delighted. Aberness Care has been a godsend for us.

Having carers in to attend to Mam has taken a lot of pressure off family. The carers are very professional and caring taking time to have a chat with mam. It helps when it’s mainly the same carers each time and Mam has got to know them.

Thank you Aberness for looking after my dad, the care given was excellent and allowed me a day off which was invaluable. Dad, a shy man, accepted the care given and said the carers were friendly and always looking to help out with other jobs. When I needed to increase the care, Aberness quickly arranged

Aberness have cared for my auntie for nearly three years. The care and support they have provided have been exemplary. I dont know what we would have done without them. They went over and beyond to make sure all her needs were met. They treated my auntie as if she was part of their family. I will never

The care provided by Aberness Care is excellent. All the carers are very kind and caring, very patient, always cheery, no matter what faces them, nothing is ever too much bother.
They all take great pride in keeping my husband clean and fresh. I couldn't ask for better care.

Aberness provides the greatest levels of care at home for my mother and support our family on a day-to-day basis. Nothing is ever a problem. Aberness Care Ltd has been absolutely amazing with the care needs for my Mum and Dad. From the very first conversation with Aberness Care Ltd they totally got what was needed in our unusual setup. Both parents are eighty-seven with significant care needs, both physical and mental, and the staff totally
recognised that I needed a break from caring. We appreciate the flexibility with which they support us, often providing cover with short notice, in addition to the regular and amazing holiday respite cover. The carers are professional, friendly, considerate and absolute gems. I cannot thank them enough for the compassion and care they provide to my parents, and the support they provide me. Thank you.

For ill health reasons I was forced to use a care service from May 2021 as my family was nervous about me living on my own.
My usual carers are excellent. They are caring and helpful. They respect the dignity of the client. I have three periods of care daily, morning, lunchtime, and evening. However,
there are times when my usual carers are not at work due to leave or illness when I have been left with no care or else someone appears outwith my usual times when I’m expected to just stop what I’m doing to “get care” from them. I have never once been informed by the office about who is coming or if no one is going to come. This to me shows a less than caring attitude by management as a whole.
I feel this shows a lack of respect for the client. I have never spoken to either by phone or in person with any team leader or management of the company.


I must reiterate that my usual carers are caring and they do try to let me know who’s replacing them on any absences.

Our carers are totally dedicated, reliable and very committed to providing a first-class service to my husband's needs. We count our blessings that we have such caring staff who have such qualities, and are an absolute pleasure to have in our home. They undertake their varied and tasks so willingly

Mairi Macleod

Job Title: Managing Director Joined: 2013

Mairi and her business partner, Dawn Knowles, established Aberness Care in January 2013. Mairi has worked in the care industry for approximately 30 years. Mairi has previously engaged in management roles in both community and residential care settings. Mairi is still very involved in the delivery of the service. She continues to work full-time in the community office.
