My mum has had Blue Ribbon carers for nearly three years. The carers have been excellent throughout. Mum is really happy to see them when they come into the house. Over the Christmas period, Mum had two falls and a chest infection and with the continued support of Blue Ribbon, she is making a steady recovery. I have set up a camera on her chair so that I can check all is well. It is lovely to see her laughing with the carers as they come to help her. Blue Ribbon have been really helpful in adjusting to her different needs now that she has become frailer. Care has had to be altered almost day to day as together we see her new needs emerging. Both the carers and the office staff have been very cooperative and helpful as we discuss what is the best for Mum. I appreciate the effective communication with Blue Ribbon as I live some distance away and feel reassured that Mum is well cared for.

My Father could not receive any better care than he does from Blue Ribbon Community Care. The carers never seem rushed and will do anything they are asked to, however, they also work well without instruction, using their own experience to do anything that is required. The office staff are great too and it is easy to get through to them on the phone.

My mother receives excellent companion care. The carers are consistent which has helped build a caring and loving relationship that benefits my mother who lives with dementia. She appreciates their friendly visits during which they make visits to the toilet, serving lunch, drinks and snacks a natural unhurried part of their time with my mother. I feel confident she is safe and well cared for while I am at work.

I was very lucky to have Blue Ribbon looking after me when I was out of action. They really are an excellent set of people, from the manager, the care manager and the care workers, I couldn’t have wished for nicer people to look after me when I was ill.
I took a fall and my son insisted that I had some support in place for me as I recovered. I was reluctant at first, but he insisted, and I’m very pleased that he did. He said he did his research and only picked the one company that he felt confident would look after me the best. The care workers were truly lovely – very friendly, very professional and very on the ball. They made my life so much easier and they were more like friends. On the occasions I phoned the office, the staff there were friendly and very efficient. I couldn’t have asked for more in a difficult time. I was even a little sad when I didn’t need their help anymore.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Blue Ribbon to anyone who needs any care or support.

We were very lucky to have our parents for so long. Dad died aged 87, Mum was 85. But I am sure their time alive was enhanced and extended by the care provided by Blue Ribbon Community Care.
The staff were always friendly, helpful and, most importantly, caring. The service was very reliable and flexible when we needed it to be.
The support Blue Ribbon provided meant all the burden of care for my dad didn’t fall just on my mum. The care staff who visited were always sensitive to Dad’s needs and took time to talk as well as to just fulfil their duties.
After he passed away it was my mum who needed the support, which Blue Ribbon provided consistently and professionally. They ensured that her workload was reduced and that she had company every day. And towards the end, they were especially caring and attentive.

We cannot thank Blue Ribbon enough and are happy to recommend them.

What can I say... but thank you to the most professional care company ever. My mum suffers with dementia, so it's not easy to introduce change, but she loved them all and was happy whenever they arrived, as she saw them as friends and family. They helped my mum in so many many different ways, they encouraged her to eat, clean, everything really, the list goes on, and to be totally honest, if it was not for the caring, professional staff who looked after my mum, she would not be here now. She loved to sing "sunshine corner" with them all and was always happy to talk with them all when they were there.
This may sound stupid, but I found it difficult and upsetting talking to the manager to tell her I no longer need their assistance as Mum has been admitted into a care home for 24/7 care.

I wish the Blue Ribbon staff all the very best for the future, and I thank them from my heart for the help you gave me, and my mum, through very, very difficult times over the past 3-years.

I can't praise Blue Ribbon highly enough. The care provided first to both my parents and then my mother has been exceptional.
Carers were first introduced twice weekly in 2014 when it became apparent that both were in the early stages of dementia. The number of visits increased as their care needs became more complex and challenging. Eventually, we had visits four or five times a day with as many hours as Blue Ribbon could spare! So, in September 2017, a carer came to live-in, with carers already known to my parents coming in 4 hours daily giving him respite.
Dad died in July 2018. By then both were still ambulant but very disorientated and exhibiting some very challenging behaviour. Throughout they were treated with care and compassion and all their needs met.
Mam finally passed away on 9th December peacefully in her own bed.

Without Blue Ribbon it wouldn't have been possible for them to have ended their lives in the home they have loved and lived in since they married in 1954.

Cannot praise Blue Ribbon Care highly enough. The care provided for my mother was exceptional. The carers were like family to Mam and she loved to see them on a daily basis. Nothing was too much trouble for them and the Administration Staff were equally impressive and very proactive in their responses.

I was very apprehensive about having a carer look after my mam, following an accident and a long stay in hospital and rehab. However, I need not have worried because from my first meeting with the manager, Blue Ribbon Community Care (Tyne and Wear - Sunderland) have been so professional and caring. I was impressed that an initial visit was arranged so that my mam and I could meet some of the small team that now looks after her. My mam now views them more as trusted friends than carers and this is a testament to the kindness and respect with which they look after her. Whenever there's been a problem with which I've needed their help, for example when mam hurt her leg and suddenly couldn't manage the stairs, Blue Ribbon Community Care (Tyne and Wear - Sunderland) has acted swiftly and effectively to provide the extra care she needed. I am so grateful for the peace of mind knowing that the wonderful Blue Ribbon Community Care (Tyne and Wear - Sunderland) team is providing the care my mam needs, especially during the coronavirus crisis. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing professional care for a loved one.

Following a recommendation from a previous user of carers from Blue Ribbon Care, we started using Blue Ribbon in Sunderland over 3 years ago to provide care for my mother who was in her early 90s. The care which they provided from that time and up to her death in January this year was excellent and we would certainly have no hesitation in recommending the company to others needing care for an elderly relative. All of the carers and the office staff were helpful, flexible and compassionate in the way they provided care for my mother, including end of life care which was extremely supportive to us in her final days.

Finding quality personal care for an elderly and vulnerable loved one is often very challenging. It can become necessary at short notice after a sudden deterioration in health or an accident. Because of concern for our elderly mother, who showed early signs of slowing down, we did some research into companies that provided care services in the area so that in the event she needed support we were ready. Blue Ribbon Community Care seemed to meet our requirements with excellent customer reviews and so they were put at the top of our list. About twelve months later that eventuality arrived and we contacted Blue Ribbon. From the first point of contact they were so easy to deal with, very accommodating, friendly and reassuring. Blue Ribbon’s communication, time-keeping, flexibility, friendly and caring staff allowed our mother’s final months to be in her home as she wanted. A great caring team and we would recommend them without hesitation.

My mother and I first met the Blue Ribbon team in April 2019. Her previous care team withdrew their services at very short notice. This was upsetting and left us with a void. Blue Ribbon continued her care from the very next day. So for a year mum received daily morning care, bathing, dressing and breakfast. In March 2020 sadly my mum received a diagnosis of terminal cancer, from that point Blue Ribbon looked after her four times a day, always respectful, cheerful and stimulating. The staff helped mum to have 5 weeks of excellent life quality. When she became very ill it was wonderful to see the end of life care delivered with cheerfulness, support and total respect.

Thank you.

I cannot recommend Blue Ribbon highly enough, the care they have given my mum has been fantastic. My mum's care needs have changed over the short time she has been with them due to frequent hospital admissions, and they have always treated her with the greatest of respect and dignity. Mum looked forward to their visits twice a day as they not only attended to her needs but took the time to chat with her and get to know her and what is important to her. Unfortunately, due to deteriorating health and frequent hospital admissions during the lockdown, the decision was made by the medical profession that Mum is no longer safe to be in her own home. I would like to say a big "thank you" to the manager and all his team for their support over a very difficult time for both my mum and myself.

Our experience of Blue Ribbon Community Care has been nothing short of wonderful. My uncle lived on his own and we, his nearest relatives live a 2-hour drive away. Blue Ribbon staff have supported him during a sad decline through Alzheimer's disease. They gradually gained his trust and through care and perseverance were increasingly able to help him with many daily personal care tasks as well as keeping him entertained with chat and shared interests. Nothing seemed too much bother for them and they moved through shopping, preparing meals, collecting and administering medication to laundry and personal hygiene. When he started to have falls, staff were there to care for him, alert others and keep us, his relatives informed. The organisation of visits with appropriate carers and timed to coincide with hospital discharges has also been first class. Truly great staff with a truly amazing management team. We are very grateful to everyone for all the care taken to help our uncle and us.

I would like to thank the Manager and his staff for the brilliant service provided to implement the urgent care of our aunt. She arranged an initial home visit to discuss the care requirements, together with a visit to introduce two of the carers prior to the start of the care, a small gesture making a big difference. The quality of care provided was amazing and on occasions, the carers stayed longer than their allocated time, if they thought there was a concern about my aunts wellbeing. I was informed immediately of any concerns and their manual records were precise and detailed. The quality of care, together with their colleagues in admin, alleviated the stress for the family, knowing my aunt was receiving regular support and visits from such lovely caring people.

We were having a difficult time caring for my father, and I contacted Blue Ribbon. They came out to see us straight away and were very sympathetic to our situation. From the moment I met the manager and staff, I knew my father was in safe hands. The staff were very knowledgable in their jobs and they treat my father with the utmost dignity. Dad wasn’t seen as just another client, the staff interacted with him getting to know about him and his life. I couldn’t have asked for a better company to look after my father, and I would recommend them to anyone who is struggling to cope, they definitely took a lot of the stress out of my life. Thank you all.

Hello, I’m Devon and I’m the Client Care Manager. This means that I make sure that all the care workers know all about the needs of those people they support and that they are in the right place at the right time. This means that if you ever call Blue Ribbon to talk about care and support for a loved one, it’s probably going to be me who will come out to see you. I started at Blue Ribbon as a Care Worker and then got promoted to Team Leader and now Client Care Manager. I know each and every person who works here at Blue Ribbon (we’re not a big company, but we are very friendly and personal) and I know I would happily have anybody here look after me or any of my loved ones.
