The Blue Ribbon care company have been excellent to deal with from the beginning. They have been helpful and accommodating to all Mum's needs. The girls who come in to care for Mum are fantastic. They are caring and helpful and treat Mum with respect and dignity. I cannot fault any of them. They have eased a difficult situation and made Mum feel cared for and safe. I would certainly recommend them to anyone who asks.

I have been receiving care since November 2017 and have used Blue Ribbon since summer 2018, I was having problems with my previous company. Blue Ribbon are professional, punctual and the admin is all very easy for me. The staff are all lovely and help me with basic household tasks as well as chatting and checking on me. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing home care. I can always rely on them and feel safe with them being in my home. Being a younger (40) care user it can be difficult for me to ask people to do things for me but all of the staff are respectful and make me feel comfortable.

We first employed Blue Ribbon Community Care in January 2018 to provide assistance to our widowed 92 year old father who wished to remain in his own home. Following and informal discussion between the company dad and family members a care plan was drawn up, which included assistance with basic tasks such as showering, dressing/undressing, administering medications and meals. From the outset, we have all be extremely happy with the service provided, particularly dad.
The care plan has been reviewed regularly throughout the past year to ensure that dad's needs were being met and we feel confident that any future concerns we may have will be addressed immediately.
Blue Ribbons members of staff are all dedicated, reliable, professional and very friendly individuals.

They not only provide dad with the care that he needs but do so in a manner which maintains his dignity at all times and gives us that all important peace of mind. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

This agency came highly recommended. A daily evening carer call was requested to support mam. Following an assessment, the carer visits were established promptly and both coordinators and direct care staff, worked very closely together to offer the best of care and as a result, the care delivered was tailored to mams needs. A very caring, patient, professional approach - many thanks.

Blue Ribbon cared for my mother for over a year and they have always been very caring, professional and helpful. They take great care to ensure the care plan is suitable for their clients and I was always included in any decisions regarding care. Unfortunately my mother’s health declined and was no longer able to remain in her own home, The manager and his team supported my mother and myself through the process of her moving into 24 hour care.

My mother only had the services of Blue Ribbon for a few weeks as she has now needed to go to a nursing home to meet her current needs. However, for the short term we, as a family, could not fault the care that was provided for her. In my mother’s own words “ I like them coming into my home and I don’t feel uncomfortable". From the start, her care plan was detailed to the finest detail by the registered manager, it met her needs and we were happy in the knowledge that everything was in place. I would highly recommend Blue Ribbon to anyone wanting tailored, specific care at home.

Blue Ribbon (Tyne & Wear) have cared for my mam for several years now. She has dementia and Alzheimer's and currently has four visits a day. Nothing is too much trouble for them - her small team of carers look after her like one of their own family. They are a great support to her and also to me - I live in London and it is wonderful knowing she is in good hands when I’m not there. I don't know how we would cope without them and can’t recommend them highly enough.

A very good service.
The carers really do care.
They treat my mother well and in a dignified manner.
They observe her well and have picked up a developing infection at the earliest stage.
This has enabled us to get the earliest medical attention and stop serious infections developing.
Staff are cheerful.
Thank you.
Service is also well managed.

Contactable whenever necessary.

Blue Ribbon carers visited our Mum from February to December 2017 and during that time we found them reliable, competent, caring and showed initiative beyond our stipulated requirements. Our Mum enjoyed their company and we found that they respected her wishes even when this took a lot more of their time than was officially booked in for visits.
We are only sorry that her condition has deteriorated so much that she has had to go into 24-hour residential care but we are happy that she remained in her home for as long as possible thanks to the Blue Ribbon care team.

Thank you to all the people involved in the support of our Mum.

My father had a carer which I was happy with but after a 5-week hospital stay he needed extra care and the care company could not cover the hours. Social services put a company in which I was not happy with to say the least so I looked on CQC to check out care companies. I found Blue Ribbon, they were ever so helpful and they managed to get care in place within the week, they came out and introduced the carers before which was good for my father.

Since they have been going in, I can see a big difference in him, he is happier. He always has a smile on his face when he sees them walking down the drive. Something that is important to my dad is that they are punctual and they are. Nothing is too much trouble for the carers, they always treat him with respect never seem to rush him. The office staff are always helpful and keep me informed if they have any worries. I live a 3-hour drive away so need someone I can trust.

Overall Experience

My elderly mother has been using Blue Ribbon carers for over two years (currently three visits per day). Without exception, each carer is excellent and cannot be faulted. Each one is highly competent, hard working, completely reliable, friendly, patient, good natured and flexible. They all treat my mother as an individual and show real interest in her overall well-being and needs, and go far beyond the practical tasks required of them. Excellent relationships have been developed between my mother and members of the team of carers, as well as other family members.

There is excellent communication between the Blue Ribbon organisation and family members, as well as within the team. Information is shared reliably. Response to requests for changes in the programme is good. There is effective contact with members of the family to raise any issues which occur. Periodic meetings to assess my mother's needs have always been possible with little or no notice.

As soon as Blue Ribbon Care started visiting my father he began to improve his outlook and appeared much more self-confident. We felt that he was taken seriously by his carers and that they were doing what he wished, not trying to get through a visit as quickly as possible. He received his full allocation of time from his carers who all seemed very friendly and courteous when we were introduced to them. Unfortunately, my father was suffering from a serious illness as well as the onset of Alzheimer's Disease and therefore did not have as much time as we had hoped at home. My father had an accident at home which was dealt with very efficiently and considerately by the carers. We are happy to say that we are pleased that we changed to Blue Ribbon Care as this meant that the last month or so of his stay at home was some of the most comfortable and stress-free that he had in years. We would strongly recommend this company to anyone who needs home care for their relatives.

Leanne Jeffries

Hello, I’m, Leanne and I’m the Registered Manager of Blue Ribbon Community Care (Tyne & Wear). This means that it is my job to ensure that you receive outstanding care and support from us. We do this by spending time with you beforehand to discuss all your needs and wants and then devising a plan with you that will meet those needs. I’ve worked in social care my entire working life and I came to Blue Ribbon because I knew that their only objective was to deliver high-quality care all of the time. This has been shown in our many awards from Homecare.co.uk as well as our “Outstanding” rating from the CQC. I can’t imagine ever working anywhere else!

Hello, I’m Devon and I’m the Client Care Manager. This means that I make sure that all the care workers know all about the needs of those people they support and that they are in the right place at the right time. This means that if you ever call Blue Ribbon to talk about care and support for a loved one, it’s probably going to be me who will come out to see you. I started at Blue Ribbon as a Care Worker and then got promoted to Team Leader and now Client Care Manager. I know each and every person who works here at Blue Ribbon (we’re not a big company, but we are very friendly and personal) and I know I would happily have anybody here look after me or any of my loved ones.

Hello, I’m Rachel and I’m the Assistant Manager. This means that I look after the needs of the Care Workers and make sure that they have all the support, the information and tools necessary to deliver outstanding care to all those we support. I’m involved in recruitment, training and all things relating to ensuring the quality of our provision. I started at Blue Ribbon as a Care Worker, became a Team Leader and now I’m the Assistant Manager. One day I want to be a Registered Manager (like Leanne) and I know I’ll help Blue Ribbon build on it’s “Outstanding” reputation to achieve our vision of being “the most reputable care provider in the UK”.
