From the very first contact I had with the staff at SHS they have been amazing. We started off slowly as we had major 'push backs' from our parents but through the guidance of all their carers we have increased the visits to twice a day, 7 days a week. Every single one of the carers have been loving, caring, considerate and very dedicated during their visits. Nothing has been too much trouble .Their 'open dialogue' has been so helpful in keeping us up to date on how our parents are doing ( both my sister and I live overseas). We trust them totally to do whatever is in the best interests of our Mum and Dad. I could not recommend them more highly.
Thank you, we love working so collaboratively - push backs are expected and our experienced carers know just how to support independent and spirited people!
Mom has been supported by SHS for a few years providing companionship and general daily help such cooking meals, managing the yard and flowers, helping with the pharmacies, taking her to her local surgery center, and so forth. My sister and I were very reliant on SHS, as we live in the US, and had been very happy with her carers as was Mom. When mom's cancer started to accelerate, we requested almost 24 hour personal care. As it was almost last minute, SHS marvelously were able to get current carers to extend their hours as well as bring on wonderful new ones. The level of care and concern of the carers for my mom till she passed was exemplary and won't be forgotten; some even attended her service.
Thank you, it was a pleasure supporting your wonderful Mum
Our experience with Seniors Helping Seniors was excellent. They were able to provide bespoke companion care to my father with extremely short notice in a pragmatic, flexible and user-friendly way. The team and the carer herself went to great lengths to understand our personal circumstances as a family and my father's needs as a person. He was treated with respect, compassion and warmth at a time where he had no insight into his level of needs. The carer herself was responsive to our suggestions and she also showed initiative in identifying activities that my father would enjoy. Photos of my father smiling whilst out with the carer were some of the most positive moments we had during a very difficult time for us as a family. We will be approaching this agency again as our first port of call if our circumstances need care again.
Thank you, I look forward to a conversation with you how we can improve Management and Value for you and we look forward to hearing how your father is doing
Seniors Helping Seniors (SHS) have been supporting my mother for over three years. She is in her 90s and SHS support has enabled her to remain living independently in her own home. She says how much she likes all of the staff who support her and feels comfortable with each. SHS are flexible if she needs extra help or reduced help when family members stay over with her. I and my siblings feel confident that we can rely on SHS to help keep our mother safe and cared for when we are not able to be with her.
Thank you, we work so hard on maintaining flexibility within our service - and we love to hear it's appreciated
We are having a brilliant experience with Seniors Helping Seniors. My mum loves her carers. They not only make sure that she is cared for physically, but they laugh with her and make sure she can keep up her hobbies. They really brighten her day. The service is also very well organised and flexible. Thank you so much for looking after my lovely mum x
Thank you, your Mum is wonderful, our carers love supporting her
It was lovely to have the same 2 or 3 helpers introduced to mum and we have built up a great relationship since then.
To start with, mum needed daily help including some personal care but as she improved it was v easy from week to week to adjust and reduce this to less frequent 'companion care'- like shopping trips, helping with meal planning, cleaning etc. which is all she needs now.
It felt overwhelming at first to navigate all the care options and try to work out what was best for mum and also how much I could or couldn't take on as her daughter, but SHS really helped with this process and we recommend them highly!
Thank you, it's a privilege to help your wonderful family
My mum is 95. I was going away over Christmas and Mum wanted to stay at her home but did not want to cook or eat alone. Service for Seniors introduced her to a lovely lady. In the lead-up to Christmas they had a couple of 'get to know you' visits, then the lovely lady mentioned came on Christmas Day, took care of the meal, cleared up and kept my mum company. She loved it! And it gave me great peace of mind.
Thank you, they had wonderful times together. Our absolute privilege, thank you!
In emergency situations Seniors Helping Seniors carers adapted to the increase of care needed immediately, giving me invaluable peace of mind. Any requests from my side are immediately responded to by the management and they are proactive in keeping me up to date and suggesting necessary adaptations to the care schedule.
The carers have been very prompt, efficient and caring of me. I have enjoyed their company and daily visits. This has been the second time we have used their services and it has worked very well.
I am very pleased with the standard of care l am receiving from my carer she is very caring and considerate, nothing is too much trouble, whatever she is asked to do in what I think is not a very pleasant job. She is very pleasant and cheerful and is very helpful and friendly all the time and I thank her very much for taking such good care of me.
We are delighted to help support you and thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely message. The star rating doesn't really reflect the glowing description and that's fine because we know how happy you are! Keep up the great work!
The carer is excellent. Caring, considerate, always goes the extra mile. Always very obliging and really does her job well. I would recommend her and her holiday stand-in did very well.
Last year I contacted Seniors Helping Seniors after my 89-year-old father-in-law had a stroke. Seniors were great from the start, the manager visited us all and made my father-in-law very quickly at ease. He then introduced my father-in-law to his carer or as my father-in-law called her (his little Angel). The carer proved to be an absolute godsend, she made both my father-in-law and my life so much easier. Nothing was too much trouble for her, she was so kind. The whole company were really great and I can't recommend them enough.
I was very impressed with the excellent service and would definitely use Seniors Helping Seniors again.
I'm unable to give informed comment on management except that your carers appear to be carefully selected.
The client, a dear relative aged 95 is significantly deaf and blind - now also confused and very repetitious (or forgetful), after a widely travelled, independent life.
Seniors Helping Seniors have been her carers for several (or X) years, and I'd say the four times daily visits continue to work well. The individual carers are lovely people: efficient, patient and cheerful, whether English, Nigerian or other - in particular encouraging, indeed helping the old lady to eat more than she manages alone.
I would say we love them!
Unfortunately we reside in another country and could never afford to continue with the payments, our rand is pathetic.
Thank you! It was our pleasure to help your mum choose and get ready for the residential. Our carer was so happy to help her settle and tie up loose ends for you.
Seniors Helping Seniors provided twenty-four hour care for my 91 year aunt during May and June 2023. Her health deteriorated very quickly and I was concerned for her safety at night as she became confused and disorientated. One staff member came at night and was calm and reassuring. Another staff member came during the day and is kind and funny. Both men shared a bit about their own lives which my aunt really enjoyed and, when she was awake and well enough to chat she found their company very enjoyable. She had a lot of medication that changed frequently. The registered manager was always on top of this and the communication was excellent. We couldn't have coped without them. Their help and care meant she was able to die at home as she wished.
Thank you! It was our pleasure to assist your family.
Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to write in - our whole team appreciates it, and we enjoy supporting you.
Seniors Helping Seniors was easy to contact and arrange companionship for Mum. We had a lovely lady visiting who made her laugh, and Mum enjoyed her company. Communication was great, and would not hesitate to use it again.
Thank you, Donna! It's a great pleasure to help support your mum, and we are thrilled you took the time to write in with your experiences - it means the world to us.
Dad really enjoyed the company and chats in the run-up to moving into a carehome.
The manager is a rare diamond who genuinely cares and is totally dedicated to what she does.
Thank you, Mia. We all hope your dad does well - it was a pleasure to help guide you through a very difficult transition for him and the family. Take care.
I am very happy with the company's care of my mother. The manager always keeps me in touch with any problems etc. There care of my mother, whoever is there, cleans, feeds and keeps the place very clean. I couldn't ask for more.
Thank you, Pauline; we appreciate you taking the time to receive our services, and we love working with you and your mum!
