I contacted Home Instead after my mother had a hip replacement operation and found the return to independent living in her own home very challenging, both physically and mentally. It was such a relief to find a care provider who looks beyond each client's practical care needs to the person they are and the relationship they can build with them. Although Mum continues to face challenges, her carers offer her friendship, company and care in equal measure, which makes her life much richer and gives us peace of mind. Whenever we have raised questions or concerns, the Home Instead team has responded swiftly and offered good solutions. My sister and I are very grateful and would recommend Home Instead (North Oxfordshire) without reservation.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Home Instead - and would especially like to thank my aunt's team of carers - they always treated her with respect and dignity, and gave her the most important thing - independence.
Home Instead looked after my mum from 2022 to 2024, with regular visits from several carers. She has vascular dementia, we increased the number of visits to ensure that she had regular social company and someone to reassure her when she had worries. They ensured Mum had her medication regularly, ate regular meals and washed, showered and dressed. They were all lovely, kind and helpful, and she became really quite close with some of them (she is now in a dementia care home and some have been to visit in their own time). I can't recommend Home Instead highly enough. By using Home Instead, we gave Mum an extra two years of independence in her own home before dementia made it too difficult.
Having been recommended to me by a long-time neighbour, Home Instead have given me care since January 2023. Having been an 'in-home' resident of a different firm of carers, I have come to realise how very much happier I am in my own home which has been made possible by the Home Instead team. I have come to understand during this year what an incredibly difficult task in home caring is and have come to realise how important it is to accept each other's strengths and weaknesses - none of us are perfect! Thank you, Home Instead, for an unexpected year of happiness and contentment.
The caregivers have been absolutely great, professional, kind, cheerful, empathetic and going out of their way to do everything possible to look after our mother and keep her cheerful.
We can’t praise Home Instead highly enough.
Home Instead looked after my mother for most of 2023, with regular visits from several carers. She has dementia - early to mid-stage, and we slowly increased the number of visits to ensure that she had regular social company and someone to reassure her when she had worries. They were all lovely, kind and helpful, and she became really quite close with some of them (she is now in a home but asks after them often). I couldn't recommend Home Instead more highly.
This was the best decision we could have made, it was very easy to discuss Dad's needs and arrange a suitable plan with the Home Instead office. This was just the start, we were very happy with the carers who visited Dad who not only gave him companionship but we're very happy to undertake cleaning, meal preparation and even helping Dad shower and taking him for walks around the village which he loved.
There was always great communication from the carers who recorded not only what my Dad needed in terms of shopping but also how he was feeling. I would have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead.
We are so grateful to discover Home Instead, the manager and his team. From the initial contact they have been nothing but professional and their desire to give the best care to their clients is evident. Our mum was reluctant to tell the "ladies" what she needed to do at first but soon there was an established routine and she particularly enjoyed the social aspect which is so important to the elderly. The carers actually care and the usual ladies became Mum's friends. Thank you, Home Instead.
I initially contacted Home Instead as I could see my mum declining in mobility and the ability to do some things for herself. They were very professional and after a home visit to determine Mum’s needs with lots of notes taken, provided twice weekly visits from amazing staff! They couldn’t do enough to help Mum around the home and gave Mum the companionship she loved. Attending at regular times and always arriving with smiles on their faces, it was just what my lovely Mum, who’s in her 90’s needed. Although I write this review after Mum’s tenure has ended due to a fall at home and sadly, a period in hospital where on discharge, her level of care needed to increase, I had Home Instead for a number of years prior. There are simply no negatives. I can honestly say, that if you’re looking for care at home for your loved one, look no further as you’ve found the most professional and personable company out there that can cater for your needs. They were amazing!
The support and management team were exceptionally kind and considerate; approaching all communications with sensitivity and care. It was such a comfort to know that Mum was safe. The services of Home Instead allowed her to stay in her family home which was her dearest wish. My utmost thanks to everyone on the team.
The whole Home Instead team I encountered were incredibly professional and demonstrated genuine care for my mother's well-being at all times. With the strong culture driven by the manager at the helm down through his management team, I felt well supported even through some very difficult moments. My mother has been suffering from Alzheimer's for some time which has been incredibly stressful, and you need strong, consistent support from people you can trust. At times, this team went above and beyond expectations to ensure situations were managed as well as possible and I couldn't recommend them highly enough.
Home Instead North Oxfordshire have been amazing in the short time they have been supporting my dad. They immediately put our minds at rest with their caring and professional attitude. My dad loves his visits and says that everyone is kind and would do anything to help him. As a family, we couldn't be without their support and hard work. Dad is 93 and lives alone he would not be able to remain at home if we didn't have Home Instead on board. They really are brilliant. I highly recommend their service.
I engaged the firm to provide professional care, to an elderly parent. Home Instead provided a two-man team in order to provide consistency. I was impressed how calm and patient both ladies have been, but also really smart and perceptive. They both knew how to manage strong personalities with determination, but delivered with real understanding and courtesy. They both possess a terrific sense of humour, enabling them to process occasionally tricky situations with great professionalism, and lots of sensitivity. Both Home Instead as well as the two carers have been well organised, and good communicators. They have been flexible and tolerant of mission creep. That said, Home Instead set out a detailed care plan at the outset in order to establish professional as well as personal boundaries. I could rely on each carer's excellent judgement and complete discretion in managing whatever arose. I would have absolutely no hesitation to re-engage them in another similar role in the future.
I am very happy with the service provided for my mother and also with the promptness they have been able to respond to extra requirements. My mother gets on very well with her caregivers, which is extremely important to me.
I was recommended Home Instead (North Oxfordshire) for my Mother-In-Law, over a year ago. My Mother-In-Law is ninety and has Vascular Dementia. She is a wonderful and positive lady, having lost both of her sons in 2020 to different illnesses and with no other children, and losing her own husband of over sixty years in November 2020. Also, my Mother-In-Law has lost most of her eyesight due to macular degeneration, so is unable to enjoy reading which she loved. I cannot praise Home Instead (North Oxfordshire) highly enough. The lovely ladies who visit are not just carers but also great friends and companions for my Mother-In-Law. Not only that, but they take her out for coffee and hairdressing appointments, and enjoy friendly jokes with her, my Mother-In-Law has a great sense of humour. They have also been really helpful in arranging services at my Mother-In-Law's home to coincide with their visits such as a repair on an electrical item and a boiler service. Their help has really taken a huge strain off me as I work full time, but most importantly, I know my Mother-In-Law is treated with respect, dignity and loving care.
I can wholeheartedly recommend Home Instead who have provided care for both my parents over the last year and, as needs have changed due to dementia and increased frailty, the care provided has been flexibly adapted. Home Instead staff – both in the office and in the home – have been universally professional, efficient, caring and kind. Carers liaise well with family members and some are wonderfully proactive in thinking of interesting things for my parents to do and coping with the challenges that dementia brings.
They have been a godsend, particularly through the pandemic which was a challenging time for everyone.
I can whole-heartedly recommend Home Instead as a reliable and professional provision of nurture and care for a loved one.
Home Instead provides excellent companionship for the client who in his wife's absence, would become disorientated and panicky. The caregivers have been calm in a crisis, punctual and inventive. Clients wife feels reassured during her respite as client is comfortable in caregiver's company. There has always been a good response when contacting Home Instead.
We started with Home Instead in February this year and we have nothing but praise for them. Everyone in the company from office to carer have been efficient, caring, knowledgeable and professional. Mum needs help showering and dressing in the mornings and has enjoyed the company of all the carers. The care plan has been meticulously researched so all neeeds are addressed.
We first used Home Instead when my Mum suddenly died last year and my Dad needed support and initially companionship at home. My Dad has now recently been diagnosed with Dementia and we are so pleased that we had support in place. They have flexibly adapted the support and care needed for my Dad and managed to find extra hours when we thought this would be impossible. From the very beginning everyone I have met and spoken to have been incredibly professional, kind, understanding and so efficient in setting things up and supporting my Dad as his needs have increased. Nothing is too big a problem for staff to solve and they are always very proactive and have offered useful advice moving forward with support plans. My Dad is forging good relationships with the staff who visit him and looks forward to each visit. Living a distance away it is a great source of reassurance to know Home Instead are there for my Dad and keep me regularly updated. Thank you Home Instead for all of your kind help.

Meet the Team (5)
I joined Home Instead because of my experience in seeking Care for my father who had Alzheimer's Disease. I discovered that it's not easy to find quality support for a loved one and so my wife and I decided to create it. We joined Home Instead and opened our office in October 2013. Since that time we feel we have added something to the lives of 100's of clients and their families in North Oxfordshire and South West Northamptonshire.
Graham's overall role is to manage the business. He is also the nominated person with the Care Quality Commission.
I'm Adina and work with Home Instead in North Oxfordshire as Registered Care Manager, which means I am responsible for all elements of the service we provide. I initially joined as Deputy Manager for two years and also have over five years of experience in other roles within the care industry in Oxfordshire. I have found the focus we put on quality to be reflected in the experience people have every day. I feel very motivated and passionate about providing the highest quality service to our clients and their families.
I live nearby with my family and have a young daughter - see picture, I'm on the left! I love being a Mum… even if it does mean I don’t have too much time for hobbies these days!
I've been with Home Instead in North Oxfordshire since 2015. Initially, I was responsible for scheduling for three years, but after taking a year off to have twins (!) I undertook a role supporting as trainer Care Professionals through supervision and training. Since early 2025, I have taken a role as Deputy Care Manager, supporting Adina and the rest of the team to ensure the safe and high-quality delivery of our services.
I originally trained to degree level in psychology and have worked with both younger and older people since then. I really love working for Home Instead. The attention clients get, and the support we provide our staff, is second to none. I feel proud to work for the organisation.
I have worked in varied roles for a number of years, but after experiencing the need for care and support for my own parents, and the difference that extra support made to them both, I joined Home Instead in North Oxfordshire in 2018. I loved visiting my clients and progressed from CAREGiver to Senior CAREGiver and then to Field Supervisor in 2020, and am now in a training role. This involves the support of Care Professionals, making sure they are competent and confident to support their clients. I love the feeling you get when you know you make such a difference to people.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and especially my grandchildren. I have a wide and possibly unusual range of interests, including dressmaking, and I am also a keen motorcyclist and love nothing more than riding through the country lanes with my husband, especially in the summer months.
Gemma joined us in 2024 after having worked in patient services at a GP surgery. Her role ensures that client visits are scheduled efficiently, matching clients to caregivers, reacting to needs and ensuring no one goes without a visit. In this way, her role ensures the safe and high-quality delivery of what we do.
