I had been battling with social services for over two years to get the help I needed for my husband who had been suffering with Parkinson's for nearly 30 years. Everything they came up with was of no help, it was more of a worry. Poor attendance and not knowing who was coming. This is when I tried
to recruit a carer from other private agencies to see what could be done. I came across Home Instead (North Oxfordshire) and the manager couldn't have been more helpful. Although we were officially out of the area and he had no carers in this area, he went out of his way to find help for me. We ended up welcoming two wonderful carers who had only been with the company a few months, but who were so kind, caring and efficient. Relationships were quickly formed both with my husband, who loved them both and myself. Their support and caring knew no bounds and it was obvious from their manner and efficiency, they'd received wonderful training from someone who was passionate about their staff and caring.

Home Instead provided care and support for my Mother for over 3 years. She had named carers who visited regularly and if they were off for any reason the office would call and name a replacement. This continuity of care was highly valued by my Mother. Carers were always on time and were obliging when
asked to take on new tasks following review of care. The office staff were well informed and professional and when care needed to be increased, this was completed quickly. Communication was excellent. My Mother needed additional support that Home Instead were not able to provide and we were sorry to have to say goodbye to the agency and the carers. We would thoroughly recommend Home Instead (North Oxfordshire) to anyone who needs them.

Seriously, it's difficult to condense what I would like to express, but quite simply and sincerely, I am overawed and indebted with gratitude to everyone at Home Instead (North Oxfordshire) for their outstanding support and kindness, shown to myself and my Parents. During a very difficult time, in a
difficult time with Covid lockdowns and not living locally to my Parents, the Managers, particularly, have gone over and beyond to give support which literally has proved to be life-saving in so many ways. I can honestly say, that I do not know what I would have done without their exceptional input, which exceeded all expectation and I will forever be grateful and will always recommend with 100% confidence the service.

I was completely new to the concept of care at home and sought help and advice from Home Instead at a time when my elderly mum who had dementia and limited mobility was needing some extra support. The manager couldn’t have been more knowledgeable, helpful, kind and reassuring. Having managed my mum’s
care as a family for the previous 4 years, I was apprehensive about introducing a carer to her and anxious about how she would react as she was always a strong and independent woman. However, my concerns were unfounded as the carers were excellent. My mum was noticeably calmer and happier when they were with her. She had 2 regular carers and they were entirely focused on making her as happy and comfortable as possible during their visits and providing the help she needed. It was uplifting hearing them chatting and laughing together when I arrived during their visits. Sadly my mother passed away in November 2020 but I take comfort that in her last months she had such good care in her own home.

Home Instead provided very caring, professional, safe and responsive service to my father during a difficult and challenging time. This was evident from my initial contact, the assessment process and ongoing care. Their input gave me invaluable support as I tried to help my parents with a sudden change
in support needs. The care was set up appropriately and Dad responded very well to the caregivers. They always arrived on time, were kind, supportive and caring to both Dad and Mum. They carried out their duties in a professional way and communication between themselves, the office team, management and myself was excellent. Mum says 'they were always so kind and caring and could always engage with Dad.' This was a great support to her too. I found the office team an invaluable source of support in helping me to navigate through various situations that arose as a result of Dad's condition. I really valued that. The out-of-hours service was always appropriately responsive too.

Home Instead have been superb with the care given to my wonderful dad. Their support has been tremendous and when we were suddenly in desperate need of increased care, the Manager and the entire team came to help us and meet our needs. The Carers who regularly attended were brilliant and when more Carers
were required, we very quickly felt like we had known them for a long time. My mum felt “We couldn’t have had better care from anywhere”. Thank you all for your amazing care and support.

Home Instead started supporting my mum, who is in her mid-eighties, at the beginning of 2020 and we have been very impressed with the service. It has taken a great weight off our shoulders to know that my mum is receiving such reliable and high-quality care.
The caregivers are all very kind, patient
and professional and my mother has really benefited from their company. In addition, they have been very easy to communicate with.
The management and administrative team are friendly and very efficient and have also been very helpful in advising me on how to navigate the nursing and therapy side of my Mum's care. I was very impressed with how supportive and responsive the service was when my mother was discharged from hospital after a stroke.

The team at Home Instead were amazing and looked after my father for the last few months in what can only be described as difficult and challenging circumstances. They were kind professional and made a real difference and allowed me to worry less because I knew he was in good hands.
Communication back
to me was brilliant and no words I write can do justice to the amazing job the team did and I have no hesitance in recommending them for anybody looking good high-quality care for their loved one at home.

Home Instead have been caring for my cousin for nearly a year, with care increasing as the months went on. They have been wonderful in the way they made her feel safe and in the presence of friends. My cousin is an artist, who had given up any interest in pursuing this talent. One of her carers was
also an artist who not only got her going again, but also giving 'lessons' in art to those who enjoyed having a go! Great to make her feel wanted. I do not live near my cousin, and it was most reassuring to be confident, that my cousin and the management of her house and life was in safe hands until it became necessary to move her into a nursing home.

This has been such a positive experience. The carers are extremely sensitive, thoughtful and caring people. They really put mum first, and help her to feel completely in control at all times. They think about what she likes and try to provide that. Examples of this sort of thoughtfulness are sometimes
taking mum to concerts as she loves music, sometimes bringing little posies of flowers from their garden, they have brought books connected with mum's condition that they think I might find useful. I also find the office staff really helpful, as there are all sorts of administrative things to take into account; they deal with things quickly, sympathetically and also are extremely practical in an emergency or to consult for general advice, and this has been particularly helpful in trying to navigate care during Covid-19.

Mums care was given with patience, understanding of her needs, diligence and most of all dignity. The care team assisted in the hygiene and personal care aspects but also Mum also enjoyed the chats about the old times, looking through photos and sharing stories about her life, which brought joy and
sometimes much laughter. Underpinning the whole service, the management and administrative team are efficient, timely, understanding and kept me up to date. It can be quite stressful, taking care of a loved one but I always felt I could trust and rely upon the whole team to embrace, understand and provide the best care for mum.

Just wanted to say how delighted we were with the service Home Instead provided for my father. From the initial contact, the service was exceptional. Very thorough and gained a good understanding of my father's needs. The daily visitors were fantastic and went above and beyond to ensure my father was
cared for.
Many thanks for providing such a good service.

Home Instead are absolutely first class. I am a father of four, an only child and work away. Without their support, I would have no alternative than to put mum into a care home which would be devastating to her. The care provided is of the highest quality, the carers are great companions and also, ensure
mum receives the medication required, maintains a good diet and a lot of other help around her home. In addition to the carers, the leadership team and the office staff are wonderful and keep me fully up-to-date with any concerns or actions required.

I found Home Instead to be an excellent care provider for my mother. The care is of an excellent standard- very flexible and personalised. When my mother expressed the fact that she did not get on so well with one of the carers, the agency changed the carer straight away. My mother is very happy with
the two carers provided and they allow her to live independently in her flat at the age of 90, despite having mild dementia and being frail physically.

Home Instead Senior Care (North Oxfordshire) continue to provide an excellent all round care package for my mum. They continue to make her life, in her own home, both pleasant and achievable, which is a brilliant result, as she really doesn't want to live in a care home. They now help with cooking,
shopping, washing and showering, assisting decision making and most importantly they provide wonderful company for her. I know she really looks forward to the visits, from the excellent caregivers, who provide her with a regular friendly face. She sees them as friends, who come to help and stay for a chat about anything and everything! Thank you again for the outstanding service you have provided over the last couple of years!

We were recommended to contact Home Instead when we decided we needed extra help caring for our mum who has Alzheimer's. We were completely reassured from the outset when it was obvious that they really 'got' the situation - from the family members viewpoint as well as the client who needed the care.
They took great trouble to make sure that the carer they chose suited Mum and were flexible in the manner in which she was introduced.
We were adamant that there should be a regular carer visiting at a regular time and this has been the case enabling relationships to be built. Now Mum is fully accepting of the visits and really enjoys her chats with 'the girls'.
Home Instead conduct regular reviews to ensure that we are satisfied with the service but they are always available if there is something we need to discuss. We are also contacted if the carers are concerned in any way.
It is no exaggeration to say that Home Instead have made a huge positive difference for the whole family.

We were recommended to use Home Instead and indeed our experience of the care and professional service received was more than we could have hoped. My husband was in denial about his needs for care and companionship and initial contact was handled with great discretion and well-trained carers were carefully
matched to him. He soon warmed to the twice-weekly visits and the carers were sensitive to his need to maintain his self-esteem and cheerfully bought out the best in him. There was excellent communication with the manager and appropriate concerns were raised and shared as physical and mental health deteriorated. We appreciated the advice on next steps and also the support on transition to residential care. Our family would certainly recommend this provider to others and feel that they offer a unique service in the area.

  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I joined Home Instead because of my experience in seeking Care for my father who had Alzheimer's Disease. I discovered that it's not easy to find quality support for a loved one and so my wife and I decided to create it. We joined Home Instead and opened our office in October 2013. Since that time we feel we have added something to the lives of 100's of clients and their families in North Oxfordshire and South West Northamptonshire.

Graham's overall role is to manage the business. He is also the nominated person with the Care Quality Commission.

I'm Adina and work with Home Instead in North Oxfordshire as Registered Care Manager, which means I am responsible for all elements of the service we provide. I initially joined as Deputy Manager for two years and also have over five years of experience in other roles within the care industry in Oxfordshire. I have found the focus we put on quality to be reflected in the experience people have every day. I feel very motivated and passionate about providing the highest quality service to our clients and their families.

I live nearby with my family and have a young daughter - see picture, I'm on the left! I love being a Mum… even if it does mean I don’t have too much time for hobbies these days!

Since early 2025, I have taken a role as Deputy Care Manager, supporting Adina and the rest of the team to ensure the safe and high-quality delivery of our services.

I originally trained to degree level in psychology and have worked with both younger and older people since then. I really love working for Home Instead. The attention clients get, and the support we provide our staff, is second to none. I feel proud to work for the organisation.

I have worked in varied roles for a number of years, but after experiencing the need for care and support for my own parents, and the difference that extra support made to them both, I joined Home Instead in North Oxfordshire in 2018. I loved visiting my clients and progressed from CAREGiver to Senior CAREGiver and then to Field Supervisor in 2020, and am now in a training role. This involves the support of Care Professionals, making sure they are competent and confident to support their clients. I love the feeling you get when you know you make such a difference to people.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and especially my grandchildren. I have a wide and possibly unusual range of interests, including dressmaking, and I am also a keen motorcyclist and love nothing more than riding through the country lanes with my husband, especially in the summer months.
