Excellent staff, always punctual, efficient and very caring. Dad is very happy and content. Administration team are always readily available and helpful. My family are completely happy and satisfied with Home Instead. A really great company.
Thank you for your great review, we really appreciate your positive feedback!
A pleasant experience from the start. Noce to have people who care so that I never feel alone.
Thank you so much for taking the time to complete a review and for your kind words.
The company's system is very well planned and executed. The carers are all well-trained, very knowledgeable and professional. Well presented, reliable and extremely pleasant.
Thanks for your kind words, we all look forward to seeing you, it is such a pleasure to know you and your family.
We certainly hit the jackpot when choosing Home instead of caring for our mother we couldn’t have chosen a better company.
Thank you kindly for your wonderful words. We are so pleased that we can give you peace of mind, knowing your Mum is in safe hands. Thank you again.
Management took time to explain to me, in detail, all the steps and processes involved in setting up a care package and I was confident in the wider organisation's support, having visited their offices.
Thank you so much for your kind review, we are so pleased you were happy with the services provided. Kind Regards.
My 97-year-old father is now much happier being at home following care home respite and being very well looked after by the Cleveland Home Instead team.
Highly recommended.
Thank you so much for your kind comments. We are delighted that your father is much happier and is having the care he most certainly deserves as does everyone. Thank you again.
As a family, we are very pleased with Home Instead, having moved over from another provider. All of the carers treat our mother well and she is generally happy, although she copes with failing health issues. she looks forward to seeing the carers each day.
Thank you such much for your kind words. The girls always look forward to seeing your mum. I am pleased that she looks forward to our services and the difference it has makes on a daily basis.
Many thanks.
Very satisfied with the cleanliness of the house. My brother is looking healthy and well-groomed. He clearly has a good relationship with his two primary carers and is more socially engaging than when I saw him two months ago. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much for your review. We pride ourselves on ensuring we keep a well-maintained and clean home for all our clients. I am pleased that your brother is looking well, we have wonderful care professionals who carry out such an important role and we could not do it without each and every one of them. Thank you again.
The office staff have always been very professional and friendly. They would have looked after us all very well.
Thank you kindly for your words and appreciation. It has been an absolute pleasure to support your family. We have such wonderful Care Professionals that certainly go over and above in their role. Than you again.
I have used the services of Home Instead to look after my dear mother for the last four years; without a doubt, the best care company I have used. Their caring and professional approach to looking after their clients is second to none and nothing is too much trouble. I love how the carers have business insurance on their vehicles and could take my dear mother out on her weekly outings while I was at work. If you are looking for a five-star treatment to look after your loved one, I would not hesitate to recommend Home Instead.
Thank you so much for your kind and wonderful words. It has been a pleasure to support you all through your journey with Home Instead.
Effective and efficient communication. Nothing a problem, complete understanding of challenges of cognitive impairment and individual needs.
Thank you for your kind words. We appreciate the positive feedback highlighting the quality service provided. Thanks again Rhiannon.
Home Instead looked after Mum for 15 months and in that period of time they treated her with affection and remained highly professional. The carers got to know her quickly and made sure every aspect of her care was dealt with even allowing her to be independent when she requested. Nothing was too difficult for them and they regularly went above and beyond. Mum really looked forward to the carers going and they had such a laugh. Living so far away from Mum I had total peace of mind. The whole team are first class and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing care.
Thank you for your kind words. It is a great pleasure to help your mum live independently at home with the quality care provided. Knowing the laughter and joy it brings to her daily life is very comforting. Thanks again. Rhiannon
The visits Mum receives from her care professional have made a big difference to both our lives. I can relax on the visit days, knowing Mum will be looked after in the way she likes. Her care professional knows and understands her requirements, and anticipates them all. Mum really looks forward to the visits and I know they have a good laugh too. Office backup is efficient and professional, I would recommend it to anyone in a similar situation.
Thank you for your kind review, it is a pleasure to be supporting you and your mum to help her remain independent at home. Thank you again, Rhiannon.
I am very happy with my caregiver, she is excellent. She does everything that needs doing, nothing is a problem.
Thank you for your kind review, it is a pleasure to be supporting you to remain independent at home. Thank you again, Kate.
An outstanding service. My dad was trying a care home, after a few months, he decided he was not ready to stay but needed care, which he had previously refused. At my request, the manager from Home Instead visited him before he returned home. After talking with Dad she arranged three male carers to alternately visit him for two hours per day. She also educated me on some of the problems I was having and explained how she could help. She was the first person I had talked to that not only understood my problems but provided me with actual solutions. Initially, Dad thought he did not need carers but after a few weeks realised that the help and company was not only important but looked forward to the visits as the carers became his good friends. I found the carers exceptionally professional, patient and caring and they helped enormously by assisting Dad with tasks that he refused to do for me. I wish we had discovered Home Instead years ago. All staff were friendly, helpful and efficient.
Thank you so much for your excellent feedback regarding our service. it can be very difficult for families supporting someone with Dementia to be able to maintain the father/daughter relationship when problems with daily living start to become apparent which they are unaware of. We were very happy...
The carers are courteous and very helpful and most importantly, polite. They do what has to be done, without complaint.
Thank you so much for your kind review, its such a pleasure to support your wife. Thanks again, Kate.
Staff concerned about my welfare, very pleased with you so far.
Thank you so much for your kind review, we know how much the service has changed your quality of life getting you back out in the community. Thanks again.
From the initial assessment to the continuing care, every request has been taken on board and provided by Home Instead at Stockton. The same three care providers who visit every week, seven days a week are very competent and friendly, nothing is too much trouble and the office staff are the same. Definitely recommend them 100%
Thank you so much for your kind words. It's a pleasure to support your father remain as independent as possible at home. Thanks again, Kate.
Home Instead have provided an outstanding service looking after my Mum for the past three and half years. The Caregivers were chosen perfectly to suit my Mum's needs and having regular carers was important to us as Mum has Dementia. The Caregivers that looked after Mum were caring, friendly and always went over and above our expectations in their level of care and kindness. The team in the office were also very efficient and helpful, they dealt with any changes or extra cover we needed immediately. We would definitely recommend Home Instead.
It has been our pleasure working alongside you, to help to support your Mum at home. Most importantly, thank you for allowing us into your lives. All the best for the future and have a wonderful Christmas, from all at Home Instead.
The caregivers who have looked after Dad have all gone above and beyond anything we could have asked of them. They have always shown him kindness and respect while providing the support that he has increasingly needed. Since the first lockdown in 2020, they have also made sure his home was well maintained when the family were unable to visit, by informing us of things that needed doing. Over the three years that they have been caring for Dad they have become like part of our family and we are so grateful to them all.
Thank you so much for your amazing feedback, Alison, we couldn't be more grateful. Sending best wishes to you, your dad and the rest of the family as always. Kindest Regards, Sophie

Meet the Team (6)
I am a local lad, born and bred in Stockton-on-Tees and after moving to London for university and a career, was drawn back quite quickly to my native area where I love to live and where I wanted to bring up my family!
Over the years, I have enjoyed many great times battling on the rugby pitch for Stockton Rugby Club, among other great teams, before my bones and sinews decided they just couldn’t cope with the strains anymore! More sedately, I have been a long-standing member and three times Chairman of Stockton Round Table. This involved me supporting many good local causes and charities, including the elderly, always wanting to be able to contribute to the good of the local community and wider area. On a work front, I have enjoyed a successful career working from the ground up to senior management levels in Human Resources Management and Organisational Development with small as well as very large organisations - I just love being involved with people.
I get a great deal of personal satisfaction from recruiting, training, developing and nurturing great quality staff who deliver fantastic services and who truly enjoy and are totally engaged in the work they do. Whilst always working very hard for other people to improve and bettering their organisations, my real quest has been to run my own top-quality business.
I bumped into Home Instead who were looking to open a new office in Cleveland and have not looked back! Home Instead is renowned for its excellence in providing superior quality care across the UK and the world…..now available to you where you live!
It is a genuine pleasure working with my partner Michelle, helping her realise her ambition to improve the quality of life, independence and happiness of our clients in their own homes where they want to be providing peace of mind for their families at the same time.
Equally, I am thrilled to be able to deliver a sought-after service in the community where I live and to create immensely rewarding local jobs for local ‘superstars’ to care for our local elderly. We love what we do!
Home Instead Cleveland is owned by Gavin Morrigan and Michelle Fairless - ‘real life’ partners as well as Home Instead business partners. Together they have had successful careers providing high-quality, reliable and dependable services with well-regarded companies.
For me it's quite simple, I love what I do! Making a huge difference to families!
I have developed a great passion for providing the highest quality service to older people and their families that sadly I just couldn’t find for my own family when we needed it. Unfortunately, there are many, many people who continue to share my experiences. Knowing of the incredible difficulties and near-impossible challenges many families have faced when service providers have failed to deliver sometimes the most basic levels of dignity and care, my mission has become to provide the very best elderly care possible. We deliver what we promise. My dream to make a real difference is now a reality. It has been so rewarding to see the hugely positive impact that the service we deliver has on people's lives, not only the people we provide care for directly, but their families as well, providing them with much-needed peace of mind through our excellent care and companionship service.
The end result is that this combination enables us to help more people remain independent, happy and fulfilled in their own homes, where most elderly people want to be, for far longer than is often the case with their families knowing they couldn’t have made a better choice. A choice, sadly, I never had.
Outside of work, Gavin and I enjoy many outdoor activities, particularly in the countryside. We also have 4 children, well young adults really who themselves have diverse social lives and sporting interests outside of their studies or work. The final additions are our mischievous cat and playful black Labrador who ensure we are kept busy at all times! Very rarely do we find ourselves wondering what to do next or where to go!
Kate Smith is the Registered Manager at Home Instead Cleveland and joined the Home Instead Family very early in our journey in 2016. Straight out of college, she began her career with us and Kate has flourished and developed her skills to get to where she is now.
Reason for joining Home Instead:
I joined Home Instead as a CAREGiver in 2016. At the time I was very new to the working world having just left college and a part-time role with a food chain.
At the time I had no driving license so nearly never got the job, however, after reading to the very end of my CV Gavin noticed I rode a motorbike and the rest was history…
Clients loved that I rode my bike to and from their houses in all weathers to be there for them, and for one particular client, this was a huge topic of conversation being a former motorcycle rider himself.
I soon started working with a variety of clients and this instantly boosted my confidence and people skills and I very quickly realised what I difference I could make.
After some time as a CAREGiver, I was offered a position in the office where I worked with Gavin and Michelle on a daily basis, just the 3 of us! With only a handful of clients to look after.
Now with an office team of 17, I have had the pleasure of not only watching our office team and care pro team grow but to seeing the number of people we support in our local area remain independent at home double each year.
Hobbies/interests:
In my spare time, I like to take my dog Mabel out for long walks around Wynard Woodland Walk and Cotham Woods.
I am generally a creative person and enjoy most things of that nature and I am constantly trying new hobbies and projects.

I grow most of my own fruit and vegetables in my garden/allotment and this is something that I really enjoy.
Brenda is our Deputy Care Manager and joined the Home Instead Cleveland family after a long career of 19 years within the Financial Industry and customer service.
Reason for joining Home Instead:
I believe the position at Home Instead came my way at the right time in my life. With a wealth of experience from working with Customers and People Management, I knew that my skills would be beneficial in contributing to the Home Instead way and working for a company that not only CQC Outstanding rating but also has a 5-star Best Employee Award, showing me that they not only give a great service to their clients but also deliver a great service as an employee.
Hobbies/interests:
Outside of work, I’m normally running down the road, no I am not being chased, I actually enjoy keeping fit. I enjoy going to the gym and have always been a member of some gyms here and there over the years. I love the outdoors so if I’m not out walking with my dog through the fields, we are camping and living the outdoor life. She is my little companion and has such enjoyment in my life.
You can normally find me in the office eating, if I’m not eating, I’m looking for food to eat, much to the disappointment of those on diets.

I am originally from Northern Ireland, therefore I am of Irish origin, however, sadly my accent does not reflect that. It certainly keeps people guessing though. My childhood years were spent moving around within the armed forces.
Claire Fryett is one of our Care Coordinator/Scheduler, she spent 10 years in retail management before joining the Home Instead Cleveland family.
Reason for joining Home Instead:
I joined Home Instead as I was ready for a new challenge. I’d always worked in customer service and am passionate about helping people. I saw this role advertised and knew that it was right for me as it combines both the scheduling aspect and customer service style role that I was looking for. I wanted to work for a company where everybody is happy and enjoys coming to work and that’s exactly what I found here. I’m a people person and I love getting to know our clients are CarePros.
Hobbies/interests:
I live in Middlesbrough and have two young children and a teenage stepson, so I spend my time outside of work with my family. I love to spend weekends walking around the garden centres or having a walk along Redcar seafront with a little trip to the arcades with the kids. In the summer I enjoy family camping and caravanning trips with my husband, kids, and parents. To me, family is the most important thing and I like to make sure every weekend counts. I also have a huge shopping addiction and love hunting out a good bargain!

I have a huge fear of heights, however, on my honeymoon in Mexico, I faced my fears and ziplining across the Mexican jungle. I was absolutely terrified beforehand and even cried in the queue before the first zipline! However, as soon as I completed the first one I was absolutely hooked, it was the most exciting and amazing experience of my life and I’d love to go back and do it again.
Ross is the recruiter for Home Instead Cleveland and joined the Home Instead family in October 2021 after working for Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) as a Trainee Officer.
Reason for joining Home Instead:
I initially joined Home Instead to assist with admin work, but this quickly escalated into Recruitment Administration and then becoming a Recruiter. For many years before my joining, I had heard great things about the company, its ethos, and its scope for the future and this attracted me to join when the position became available.
My Hobbies and interests include:
- Keeping fit at the gym
- Clay Pigeon Shooting at Thimbleby Shooting Ground
- Watching most sports, my favourites being: UFC, Football, Rugby, and Formula 1

In 2019 I circumnavigated the globe.
