We are so relieved that we discovered Home Instead.
Dad was really struggling to cope on his own since Mum passed away. The Home Instead service is a lifeline for him. Dad is visited twice a day for companionship, cooking his food and trips out and about to keep him entertained. Dad loves a nice home-cooked Sunday lunch which Home Instead organise including the shopping.

The feedback we get from the manager and her team regarding Dad is incredibly professional and informative. We chat about Dad's needs so care can be focused, and Dad's mental state has drastically improved thanks to the team of caregivers that look after him. Thanks to his two main carers and everyone else who looks after my Dad, we are so grateful for all your hard work, especially during this virus. You are all amazing!

They are always kind and caring yet professional and helpful.
They have given my father-in-law the companionship and care he needs whilst also giving us peace of mind.

In December 2019 we needed to source some daily support in the evenings for my parents who are living in Shoreham. Home Instead were highly recommended from a colleague whose grandmother they had provided at home care for in Worthing. The team - managers and carers - have provided a first-class service. Support for our parents has evolved with their changing needs through regular review of care plans. They have taken on tasks, such as prescription collection and weekly frozen meal order, and we have learnt to stand back and focus on emotional support and finding those moments of joy that put smiles on their faces. The carers kindly ask Mum and Dad each day if they would like to speak with one of us on a WhatsApp video call and using their phones make this happen. Most technological things have become a challenge for them. Both parents have dementia, and the support and respect shown by the care team has been wonderful as well as dealing calmly with challenging behaviours!

Home Instead, Brighton, Hove and Shoreham are an excellent care provider. The management, staff and the ladies who visit my mother are wonderful and really helpful. We have been with Home Instead for a number of years. Mum has an established team of carers who always turn up at the right time, being the person Mum expects to see. The carers take the effort to understand Mum's likes and dislikes, her special knife and fork, tea in a teapot, which milk jug to use. Simple things to most of us but extremely important for some elderly people.
The summer and Christmas parties were excellent, where the clients get to meet each other and other caregivers. It's fun for me to attend as well because we all have the same goal, which is to make sure our elderly relatives and the clients have a good quality of life.

I can't praise the Brighton, Hove and Shoreham team enough. Mum would be lost without her ladies. Thank you.

I have been really impressed with the quality of care given to my father by the Home Instead team. They have taken time and effort to get to know Dad and what he likes and doesn't like, and have matched him with caregivers that are a really good fit for his needs. I really feel that my father is valued as an individual by them and not just as a client. My dad always has positive things to say about his daily visits, and I have particularly appreciated their care and attention during this time of coronavirus lockdown, when I haven't been able to see my father as much as usual. I would certainly recommend them as care providers.

My 90-year-old mother is quite frail and nervous. Since Dad died 18 months ago she lives alone. I live 25 miles away so can't visit every day. The wonderful team at Home Instead have taken such good care of her. We had an initial interview with the manager. She found out any likes and dislikes and discovered a little personal history so that caregivers could get to know my mother and make her feel secure. Each time a new person came to visit Mum they were introduced by the manager to ensure that all was well. Gradually, my mother grew to enjoy the time she spent with each of the team. Now, she looks forward to their visits. They are so kind and caring, nothing is too much trouble. Mum's household needs are taken care of; shopping, cooking, washing. Also, the caregivers help her shower and take her for walks. They make a point of chatting with Mum and keeping her cheerful as she gets lonely. Thanks to them I don't need to worry about her. I know she is happy. I am so grateful. Thank you.

Home Instead have been caring for my father, who has moderate dementia for over two years now.
They have dealt with the Covid-19 crisis extremely well, balancing risks with the well being of my father perfectly.
The carers are all committed and dedicated. Not everyone has managed to establish a great personal bond with my father. Home Instead have understood that this is often the case, adapting their carers to suit, such that they now can make a good estimation of who will and won't work well with him.
The result is a team with whom my father gets on well, and I know that he's in great hands.

I would not hesitate to recommend them.

I broke my ankle and needed help quickly and Home Instead stepped in within days of our initial contact. I particularly liked that each Caregiver was introduced by the member of staff I first met. I was really impressed with their competence, confidence, and how professional they were. After a few days, they became visiting friends, who were willing to tackle anything I asked them to do.

I no longer require their services, but I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. My daughters were able to carry on working, confident in the knowledge my needs were being attended to.

From the very first visit by the manager I was impressed. The visit was comprehensive and professional but also conducted with empathy for my difficult situation. I was not hurried or pushed into making any quick decision. Everything was laid out clearly with plenty of time to ask questions. The Manager went out of her way to understand mum's character and which carer might best suit her. She listened and also made it clear that she would listen to feedback and try someone else if it did not work. The carer was amazing. She "made the impossible possible with mum" Mum was very very reluctant to accept any care from anyone. Having been fairly recently bereaved as well. On the first visit she managed to get mum in the shower. A miracle. She was kind, made mum smile and attention to detail was without fault. She so obviously enjoyed her job and took pride in making mum look her best. She was always on time and I cannot fault her. Office staff efficient and helpful.

After my operation (knee replacement) I needed some help with changing the compression socks, My carers took time with helping me with these, and in addition, sorting out my kitchen, cleaning, bringing me tea and breakfast. They were friendly and caring and gave me all the help I needed.

Home Instead took great trouble to establish our needs and then provided flexible help as we needed it. The same carer came regularly and built up a friendship with my husband. I would recommend them strongly and would use them again in the future if the situation arose.

The support given to my aunt and us as a family was truly fantastic.
I have since recommended the manager and her team of delightful, professional carers to friends in need of help.
We could never have managed without them and my aunt looked forward to every visit for care and companionship. Sadly my aunt passed away - from simply old age. But they helped us until the end and were a comfort throughout her last year.

Thank you to all of you.

We have recommended Home Instead to several of our friends in the same situation as my husband and I. We needed a firm that was efficient and consistent, as well as friendly and fair.

Since switching to Home Instead in July 2017, my mother-in-law has received outstanding care. In her words, "my carers are extremely thoughtful, always cheerful, and very considerate of my needs. I never feel rushed when they are taking care of me, yet they always have time for a chat and a great laugh."

With her COPD, my mother-in-law gets short of breath very quickly and takes quite a while to recover. Within the 1-hour time slot, the carers are never in a rush and allow her the time needed to go slow during both morning and evening personal care times. Having worked with other care firms, this is the best we've seen in the Shoreham area and are grateful they are there for us. They have also made sure the carers are a good fit for her personality, making every visit a pleasure.

The team of carers at Home Instead were, without exception, superb.
They gave my mother, not only the personal care she required but they also delivered it in such a way as to be always cheerful, gentle and loving.
They were punctual, helpful and delightful ladies.

The team in the office were also superb. They were quick to follow up on any concerns about my mother's welfare and were very prompt in their communication of those concerns to me.

This is the first time I've used Home Instead after being discharged from hospital following a fall, causing a fractured femur. Due to this, I was unable to take care of my personal hygiene and Home Instead was recommended.

The care I received has been wonderful and the carers have been so supportive, which is why I have progressed so quickly.

I have been delighted with the care provided by Home Instead. Mum was initially reluctant to accept carers. Home Instead took time to get to know Mum and understand her needs/wants. The carers have been well matched and Mum gets on well with them and now looks forward to them coming. I can relax knowing that Mum is getting the support she needs. It is important to me that Mum sees the same carers at the same time each day and that they are with Mum for a full hour to allow time for a relaxed chat and checking Mum is happy as well as the agreed tasks.

My mother really looks forward to her weekly time with her carer from Home Instead. These visits provide mum, who has Alzheimer's, with some different company and give's my husband and I the opportunity for some time to go out and do things together.
From the start, Home Instead have been really excellent. They listen to what is needed and took great pains to match mum with a carer who would be able to match her interests and expand her opportunities despite her memory problems and physical needs.
The carer is sensitive, reliable and good fun for mum to be with. They do different things each week, including short walks out to the local coffee bars with the wheelchair. The carer has also helped mum to keep up her previous interests such as painting and also has taught her some new card games. They also play regular games of Scrabble together.

Often we return to find them laughing at a joke and they clearly enjoy each other's company.
