Bluebird Care Lewisham & Southwark is a premium home care agency dedicated to preserving the independence and improving the quality of life of vulnerable adults – such as those with challenges around mobility, sensory impairment and dementia – by offering sustainable solutions to some of the problems often associated with frailty, living alone and isolation.

The agency provides a range of home care services, including daily visits, overnight support and live-in care, typically to assist people with personal care and hygiene, meal preparation, managing and administering medication, light housework, shopping and accompaniment on trips outside the home.

We have been using Bluebird Care for more than three years to support our 100-year-old father in his home. Throughout this time, the care has been fantastic - Dad's needs are always met and care has been adjusted, as necessary, over this time. His carers treat him with dignity and the continuity of
care has meant they have developed good relationships with Dad. Dad was independent and we have peace of mind. We cannot praise them enough. Office staff are also very kind and helpful and I am confident they will deal with any concern.

Bluebird Care has been helping with Mum's care for a number of years now.
The quality and level of care and professionalism is very high but even more importantly is that the carers and office staff are always very friendly and easy to communicate with.

I found the supervisors/organisers of the service my uncle received very good.
I was informed quickly of any issues/concerns with my uncle (who is very frail and has dementia). Staff were kind and caring.

We use Bluebell Care for the befriending support to support Mum. The service has been excellent. The carer was very professional and sympathetic to what we needed. Her personable and sensitive manner put Mum at ease and the match to the carer was excellent. We would highly recommend!

Bluebird Care began in February 2022, replacing carers allocated by the council. Punctuality is excellent and all Dad's regular carers provide a very good level of care. In recent months I have finally been able to enjoy a few short breaks away with my partner. All has been well during these breaks
and the openpass App is extremely useful in keeping up to date.

Kate Mortimer

Job Title: Registered Care Manager

Joined: 2010

Kate joined Bluebird Care in 2010. Her customer service skills and “can-do” attitude were quickly noticed and it was not long before she was promoted to Care Supervisor.


After nearly 3 years Kate left to take a position as Senior Carer at a luxury care home in Bexley, South East London, where she managed a team of carers and gained further, valuable insight into the care of vulnerable adults with complex care needs - as well as the management of people!


We’re delighted to have Kate back in the Bluebird Care family, in a new venture where her experience and attitude will be of real benefit.


After many years working for Bluebird Care Kate has now taken on the exciting new role of Registered Manager.


With her knowledge, experience, and a great team behind her, she looks forward to the new challenges ahead.


Kate says 'I have always loved and enjoyed my work in health care so becoming a Registered Manager is the next natural step for me. It is so lovely to be able to do a job I love and make a difference in people's lives.'
