My wife has been suffering with Dementia for 10 years now and it has been difficult to obtain carers she would accept in her house.
We have worked with Right at Home for 3 years, and over the last year, with the help of medication and considerable input from Right at Home, we have found a number of
really good carers that she now accepts as friends.
We recently increased the hours from 4 hours a week to over 30 hours, due to my illness and Right at Home were able to fill these requirements quickly and we are now having a number of different carers who take great care with my wife.
The one thing they all seem to have in common is the training and the wish to treat my wife with dignity, but also to become her companions.
Having had a few weeks with the increased hours Monday to Friday it was noticeable that on a Saturday and Sunday without the carers that she was missing their company. This to me is proof that they have formed a very good relationship with her.

My aunt moved into her retirement home earlier this year. She is 90 and has many independent skills but a terrible short term memory!
The visits from her carers have changed her life. The morning hour helps her make certain her hearing aids are in, medicines taken and that she knows what is happening
that day.
The carers are lovely, they check she has milk and treats and take her to get them if she wants. They have helped her join the library and change books etc.
My aunt says she now feels safe and isn’t anxious about day to day things any more.
I feel confident that if I can’t pop in my Aunt will be fine! All the carers are kind and proactive. My aunt is very proud and she has been able to maintain a great deal of her independence - I can’t thank Right at Home enough.
Reply from Ben Selby at Right at Home (South Cheshire)Thank you so much for your kind words. We will ensure these are passed on to the CareGivers supporting your aunt.

I have had 'Right at Home' helping my Mum for the last 10 months. I am very pleased with the service. All the Carers are kind and efficient, and my Mum gets on very well with them, and always enjoys their visits. It is good that the visit is a minimum of one hour, as she especially enjoys the chats
she has with them and finds the visits relaxing.

The carers have always been on time and I have never had a problem of missed appointments. They have been helpful, and are proactive and able to sort minor problems in the house when needed.

The carers help Mum to get up in the morning and to go to bed at night and it is a relief to know that she has someone responsible at these times to check on her.

Reply from Ben Selby at Right at Home (South Cheshire)Thank you very much for this kind review. It's always great to hear positive feedback from the family of our clients and we will be sure to share this with the CareGivers that support your Mum.

Excellent, reliable service. Very caring staff who are willing to go the extra mile. My mother-in-law was more than happy with all the carers and loved the company they gave.
She was able to stay in her own home with total reassurance she was going to be well looked after. I would highly recommend
them.

Introducing the carer, first of all, happened once a week and on a companionship basis which has been very successful. She is inventive and seems to be able to engage Mum in different and inventive ways. Mum looks forward to her visit already and her carer has also been most co-operative when asked
to switch visiting days to suit. I have yet to meet her but have every faith in her value.

Staff at the Nantwich office are very helpful and understanding, always willing to help improve the care my grandmother needs.

All her personal care is met especially when it can be hard with her having dementia. The way the staff are trained to deal with how the carers care for dementia clients

is wonderful. So patient and understanding to reassure the client they are safe and happy. With dementia patients they need routine and that’s what Right at Home offers. Overall Right at Home was the right company for us and is always there when we have problems or questions and always will to go the extra mile so all my grandmother's needs are meet with having her stay at home where she’s the happiest.

We have found the care provided to be of very high standard. Whatever has been asked of the carers has always been carried out. If there is any problem, no matter how small, the carer on duty at the time will make contact and let you know their concerns. My father had a fall whilst I was on holiday
and the carer stayed with him until the ambulance arrived, even packed a bag for him. They waited until the ambulance arrived and took my father to the hospital before they left. I have much admiration for the job they do. A big thank you from my brother and myself for looking after him so well.

My husband suffers greatly from a number of medical problems. To be mobile at all he needs to use crutches but after a recent fall he broke his wrist, therefore, was unable to walk. On being sent home from hospital and told to return the week after we were both in a state of utter panic as to how to
manage and who to ask for help. By an absolute stroke of luck, we contacted the owner and his team at a moments notice he sent help to us over a weekend when it seemed like no one else operated at this time.

We changed to this agency because we had heard good reports about them and they were also better value for money than the agency we previously used.
The owner seems very committed to providing the best care and support possible and genuinely concerned about his clients well being.
Very pleased with
the overall service and it was such a lovely touch at Christmas when they provided surprise Christmas presents for all their clients.

The carers are excellent - very caring and are able to encourage her to wash and get dressed etc, even when she is being difficult.
The carers are consistent and there doesn't seem to be a high turnover of staff, which is very helpful as they get to know the client, especially for clients with dementia

After a small stroke in early 2017, I was two months in Crewe at Leighton Hospital followed by respite in a care home. After returning to live alone in my home, altered to a ground floor flat, I was visited for 16 weeks - first by members of the stroke team, then by the community team mainly by physiotherapists.
My daughter arranged my 2 hours a day, 2 days weekly 'caring' with Right at Home and is more than satisfied with the financial aspects - on which I can not comment as I am unaware of them. I am very happy with my pleasant and very helpful carers.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.960 for Right at Home (South Cheshire) is calculated as follows: ( (122 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 126 Ratings = 4.96

  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

It has been a life long passion of mine to run my own home care business. I’ve worked in the home care sector for almost 15 years, including time spent as a CareGiver working my way up to being a Registered Manager and latterly as a part of the Senior Management team with a market leading national home care provider.

I have a Level 4 NVQ Registered Managers Award and am an active Dementia Champion in Crewe and Nantwich, delivering free information sessions to organisations and business' to help create a dementia friendly community.

My real motivation comes from my Grandad who sadly passed away in 2014 following after living with Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease for nearly 10 years. I grew up in Kendal, in the Lake District living next door to my Nan and Grandad and enjoyed many great years working for my Grandad in his family run paint and wallpaper shop. As my Grandad’s Dementia progressed, he, of course, needed support and care as he started to struggle with his normal daily routine, and unfortunately, although much of his care was excellent, this wasn’t always the case. I use this as my constant guide to the quality of care we provide our Clients – “Would it have been good enough for my Grandad?” The answer must always be yes.
