Over all time Walfinch Oxfordshire has 68 reviews.
Walfinch has always included my Dad providing support where needed to deal with his wife's illness. This support is gradually being increased as Dad's physical needs have also increased.
I would not hesitate to recommend Walfinch as a care company to support your loved ones at home.
Professional team who are very kind and caring. My mother enjoys her visits and they support her independence and also provide me with peace of mind. Team were fantastic in supporting her and me after an accident and helping her recover.
All the carers that have come to us are caring, kind, and efficient. We get a weekly schedule which if we have good reason we can alter. We use the carers both as assistance and once a fortnight as companionship.
My mother suffers from dementia and lives with me at home; she is bedbound and her behaviour can be challenging. I asked Walfinch to provide a live-in carer recently while I went on holiday. I was very impressed by the detailed risk assessment they undertook prior to the placement. The care manager was compassionate and professional and made several helpful suggestions to improve her quality of care (e.g. arranging occupational therapy and mental health team reviews, fire service and health and safety assessments). The Walfinch carer was the best carer we have had. She was very experienced with a detailed understanding of dementia. She was kind, calm, patient and gentle with my mother at all times. She coped extremely well on the more difficult days. We had an additional carer coming in twice daily to help during pad changes and they all reported back in very positive terms. I have already booked with Walfinch for my next break and cannot recommend this company highly enough.
I cannot praise the team highly enough with the speed and the efficiency to enable my mum to spend her last days in her own home, as was her wish. Everyone came together and all the equipment was in place and she was in her own home with a live in carer within a week. All the staff were very caring, friendly and helpful. As a family we were very touched that mums live in carer also came to her funeral, that meant a lot to us. It was a horrible and difficult time for us all but we were guided and helped by Walfinch Oxfordshire and we will always be extremely grateful that they enabled mum to be in her own home. First class service in a stressful time. Thank you.
The agency itself had to overcome a number of challenges but always put my friend front and centre.
I cannot fault their care and to quote my friend 'I think I have been very lucky' in relation to having such good care in her own home.
Walfinch Oxfordshire is an extremely professional care provider, they took time to understand Dad's needs when we first met in June 2023. I was personally introduced to Dad's live-in carer before I collected him from the hospice. At all times, she had Dad's best interests at heart, providing him with respectful care and demonstrating compassion and empathy in all her interactions with him. She would take him to his favourite places or his appointments, which made things easier for us and allowed us to have more quality time with him. As Dad deteriorated, she would keep us updated and let us know if anything else was required, which again provided us with comfort that Dad was being well looked after. When a second carer was required, this was organised with the minimum of fuss, which was most appreciated. We feel lucky that we had this support for Dad's last 16 weeks.
My husband was on end-of-life care for nine weeks and his regular team of carers were compassionate and empathetic. They looked after him with gentleness and dignity and were very professional. They laughed at his jokes and listened to the stories he told them. They were also a great help to me as they carried out jobs around the house and sometimes in the garden. The best times for my husband were when the carers got him in a wheelchair and wheeled him into the garden where he loved feeling the sun on his face. They were always ready to help in any way needed.
Walfinch Oxfordshire live-in staff looked after our father really well for 9 months or so up to May this year. He suffers from dementia and often presented with mood swings and difficult behaviours, but the manager and the team were patient and gracious and dealt with all this really well. Our father is in a care home now but we have been assured that should we want to have live-in home-based care again they will be here to help, which is a real reassurance. Thank you all for your help and good care.
I have found the care Walfinch provide is excellent, the staff are reliable, friendly and caring. We have had the pleasure of dealing with this company for over one year and found that if we had any problems the staff were always ready to help. Mum, who is just over 100 years old and has dementia, thoroughly enjoyed their visits and also, I found that it took away a lot of pressure on me. We are both very satisfied with the service.
We started with 3 days per week but then increased the visits to daily, as it became essential to keep her on track with her medications.
All the staff involved have been very professional, supportive, caring and friendly to us all, especially mum. The online log of the carer visits works really well, allowing my sister and me to keep on top of developments, as well as post our own comments/requests.
Walfinch has our deepest thanks for a job well done, as well as our recommendation for care for your loved ones.
Walfinch Oxfordshire has recently taken over relief visits to our father-in-law who has dementia. We are very pleased with the care that has been provided. They are treating our father-in-law with respect and maintaining his dignity. They are supportive to us as a family.
Carers are very flexible with my needs and try to help with everything I need to do. They are very welcoming and sociable so if it's cooking or playing games or just a chat they are very understanding and make you feel a lot more needed in the community as well.
Walfinch Oxfordshire provided waking nights care for a few weeks, at very short notice, for my father (who has dementia) when his existing care package suddenly became inadequate. The manager was very helpful, caring and diligent when assessing my father's needs and the whole process of putting the care in place was extremely professional. The carer provided was excellent and slotted into the existing package seamlessly. Many thanks to everyone for helping us through a very tricky time.
The agency made sure that mum had the same team of carers so they got to know her well, and she enjoyed their company. The carers were excellent - confident, kind, friendly, thoughtful and genuinely cared about her. We felt she was in safe hands and thoroughly recommend this company.
We are very happy with Walfinch, Oxfordshire who care for my dad who has dementia. The carers are very supportive of my dad, with their skills of making Dad feel comfortable, preparing his meals, assisting with personal care, engaging with Dad with conversation in general and knowing what to say when he has occasional confusion. Also doing general housework to keep things ticking over. I would strongly recommend this company. The manager is very engaging and meets with Dad/me/carers at times for updates and further help when required. The carers have a great relationship with Dad and contact me if needed.
Walfinch, formally of a different name, have been providing personal care for my mother for the past 2 years. I am very satisfied with their staff and the standard of care provided. A small team of carers have been used throughout so Mum has been able to really get to know them.
My mother has been very happy with the service, frequently commenting on the care and kindness of the three carers she has met. This has been a very considerable help to the family as we can now be confident that she is much less isolated than formally and able to get help with a range of daily needs.
My dealings with Christie's have been first class right from the initial phone call to them. More importantly though, after a little scepticism, my mother has embraced the whole idea of home care and now looks forward to her visits from her carers all of whom she seems to like and find helpful. My family are therefore more than content as a result.
Thank you Christies Care for the compassion and kindness of the live-in carers and daytime carers for my friend in the later stages of her illness. We found the support to be invaluable and were very grateful to have such a great team to care for my friend.
