I cannot praise the team highly enough with the speed and the efficiency to enable my mum to spend her last days in her own home, as was her wish. Everyone came together and all the equipment was in place and she was in her own home with a live in carer within a week. All the staff were very caring,
friendly and helpful. As a family we were very touched that mums live in carer also came to her funeral, that meant a lot to us. It was a horrible and difficult time for us all but we were guided and helped by Walfinch Oxfordshire and we will always be extremely grateful that they enabled mum to be in her own home. First class service in a stressful time. Thank you.

Walfinch cared for my elderly friend, who needed a live-in carer for over a year, as she did not want to leave her home for over 50 years. The carers were wonderful, kind, considerate and hardworking. The house had become neglected and they turned it back into a warm welcoming place where my friend
had a good life right to the end.
The agency itself had to overcome a number of challenges but always put my friend front and centre.
I cannot fault their care and to quote my friend 'I think I have been very lucky' in relation to having such good care in her own home.

Walfinch Oxfordshire is an extremely professional care provider, they took time to understand Dad's needs when we first met in June 2023. I was personally introduced to Dad's live-in carer before I collected him from the hospice. At all times, she had Dad's best interests at heart, providing him with
respectful care and demonstrating compassion and empathy in all her interactions with him. She would take him to his favourite places or his appointments, which made things easier for us and allowed us to have more quality time with him. As Dad deteriorated, she would keep us updated and let us know if anything else was required, which again provided us with comfort that Dad was being well looked after. When a second carer was required, this was organised with the minimum of fuss, which was most appreciated. We feel lucky that we had this support for Dad's last 16 weeks.

My husband was on end-of-life care for nine weeks and his regular team of carers were compassionate and empathetic. They looked after him with gentleness and dignity and were very professional. They laughed at his jokes and listened to the stories he told them. They were also a great help to me as they
carried out jobs around the house and sometimes in the garden. The best times for my husband were when the carers got him in a wheelchair and wheeled him into the garden where he loved feeling the sun on his face. They were always ready to help in any way needed.

Walfinch Oxfordshire live-in staff looked after our father really well for 9 months or so up to May this year. He suffers from dementia and often presented with mood swings and difficult behaviours, but the manager and the team were patient and gracious and dealt with all this really well. Our father
is in a care home now but we have been assured that should we want to have live-in home-based care again they will be here to help, which is a real reassurance. Thank you all for your help and good care.

I have found the care Walfinch provide is excellent, the staff are reliable, friendly and caring. We have had the pleasure of dealing with this company for over one year and found that if we had any problems the staff were always ready to help. Mum, who is just over 100 years old and has dementia, thoroughly
enjoyed their visits and also, I found that it took away a lot of pressure on me. We are both very satisfied with the service.

Our family has found great peace of mind with having the carers from Walfinch supporting our dementia-suffering mother for almost a year now.
We started with 3 days per week but then increased the visits to daily, as it became essential to keep her on track with her medications.
All the staff involved
have been very professional, supportive, caring and friendly to us all, especially mum. The online log of the carer visits works really well, allowing my sister and me to keep on top of developments, as well as post our own comments/requests.
Walfinch has our deepest thanks for a job well done, as well as our recommendation for care for your loved ones.

Walfinch Oxfordshire provided waking nights care for a few weeks, at very short notice, for my father (who has dementia) when his existing care package suddenly became inadequate. The manager was very helpful, caring and diligent when assessing my father's needs and the whole process of putting the
care in place was extremely professional. The carer provided was excellent and slotted into the existing package seamlessly. Many thanks to everyone for helping us through a very tricky time.

Mum, who has dementia and other complex health needs, used carers from Walfinch (previously Christies) for about 18 months until her recent move to a care home. We don't live locally and were very pleased with the excellent quality of care and support provided. As well as having a great team of carers,
the staff were responsive, reliable, flexible and helpful, which gave us peace of mind when mum had repeated hospital stays.
The agency made sure that mum had the same team of carers so they got to know her well, and she enjoyed their company. The carers were excellent - confident, kind, friendly, thoughtful and genuinely cared about her. We felt she was in safe hands and thoroughly recommend this company.

We are very happy with Walfinch, Oxfordshire who care for my dad who has dementia. The carers are very supportive of my dad, with their skills of making Dad feel comfortable, preparing his meals, assisting with personal care, engaging with Dad with conversation in general and knowing what to say when
he has occasional confusion. Also doing general housework to keep things ticking over. I would strongly recommend this company. The manager is very engaging and meets with Dad/me/carers at times for updates and further help when required. The carers have a great relationship with Dad and contact me if needed.

Christies has been providing care for my mother for the past few months. The carers are all extremely confident, diligent and very caring. The support management and admin team provide an absolutely 1st class service, no call or matter is left unattended, and the response is almost immediate. They have
also been very flexible to accommodate the varying date requirements for my mother, as I share the care with my sister on a two-weekly basis. This is an extremely professional company. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone requiring any type of care service package. Well staffed and always willing to go the extra mile to help.

Care with a capital C! Communication excellent, notifying us quickly, if there are any concerns. Even though my brother has only been receiving care for three weeks, he already looks forward to the visits, enjoying their company and regarding them as his friends. The carer's input has inevitably reduced
our input towards his daily care, and this has been most welcome, for all parties.

My father and mother wished to stay in their home. My father is my mother's full-time carer. It became apparent after both contracted Coronavirus that they needed urgent assistance to remain comfortable together at home. The problem was acute. I turned to Christie's Care who engaged carers in under
a week. I cannot fault any point of care-giving or effortless kindness given to my mum and dad by the team at Christie's Care. They understood completely the difficulty my father would have handing over the reins to others and managed this difficult process with aplomb. They are very flexible about my parents' changing needs and have strategies to manage these too. The difference to my father is extraordinary - the burden lifted from him, has made him blossom. My mother is delighted to have a carer that she likes enormously and can relate to and who cannot do enough for her. Excellent care and being 'in the loop' is also a massive relief to my brother and me. Thank you Christie's Care.

Kam Gill

Job Title: Managing Director

Your local Oxfordshire branch of Walfinch is owned by Managing Director Kam Gill.


Kam graduated from the University of Cardiff with a BSc in Dental Technology and went on to establish a career as a dental technician whilst simultaneously raising her two sons. Kam later moved into the care industry recruiting staff for a local home care company where she continued to gain experience across other parts of the business before launching the local Oxfordshire branch of Walfinch.


Kam and her team work with dedication and professionalism to offer trusted care for anyone who needs a little extra support in their home so they can continue to live independently in the place where they are happiest.
