Home Instead in Glasgow South is a leading private home care agency based in the Southside of Glasgow.

Home Instead covers South Glasgow, East Renfrewshire and part of South Lanarkshire. This includes the localities of Giffnock, Newton Mearns, Whitecraigs, Shawlands, Newlands, Clarkston, Thorntonhall, Busby and East Kilbride.

Care Professionals pride themselves on delivering only the highest standards of care for clients in their own homes. Home Instead is made up of local people who know and understand the area and the local community.

Care Professionals support older people so that they are able to stay in their own homes and live independently.

Why is it unique?

- Minimum of a one hour call to 24/7 care. Home Instead does not believe proper care can be provided with '15 minute calls'.

- Home Instead matches the client with the Care Professionals so that wherever possible the same Care Professional Team sees the same client.

- All staff have go through a thorough recruitment process and have detailed induction training, followed by training throughout the year.

- Home Instead specialises in dementia care and Live-in care.

Services include companionship, light housekeeping, meal preparation, personal care and specialist dementia support.

Home Instead regards it as a special privilege to look after people with varying needs and conditions, with compassion and empathy.

Some clients receive two hours of housekeeping help a week, while for others 24-hour specialist dementia support is required. Others may only require help during a family break or respite period.

The services are completely adaptable and variable to suit client and family requirements.

From the first meeting, the manager, all aspects of care required were explained in detail. The carers chosen to look after my husband was very professional and always kind and understanding. I would have no hesitation in recommending the company to others.

Our experience of Home Instead Glasgow South's office has been entirely positive. All staff, from the carers through to the managers and superiors are highly professional and genuinely care about their clients and the quality of service they provide.
They were careful to match our mother with the
right carers and the carers had the time to get to know her.
It was the same two carers who visited every time and they would go the extra mile to brighten up our mother's day.
Home Instead is an example of what care agencies should strive to be like.

Home Instead Senior Care (Glasgow South) responded to our requirement at very short notice. This was due to the hospital discharging me without any prior warning and council services not able to accommodate.

My mum has been having a carer for the past month. She normally struggles going out herself but this has given her new interests and she looks forward to the visits.


She is in the hospital now with a broken hip but I hope she can continue when she gets home.

Mum was released from hospital following a stroke, her mobility was very poor and she needed support overnight.
Home Instead provided a carer within 2 days of contacting them. It made a huge difference to the family, keeping mum safe. Mum really likes the carer and felt very comfortable with her.

A very professional service.
From the initial meeting with the manager to understand my mum's requirements to matching the caregivers to her and being flexible and willing to change until the right fit was achieved.
The caregiver is lovely, very understanding and patient and good with mum - she looks
forward to her visits.
The fact that she has consistency is very important.

Since getting home care from Home Instead my mum has been so much happier and more confident. It has taken such a strain off my brother and I knowing that someone is going in to see my mum every day, helping her retain her independence.
