After taking care of my mother-in-law when she was terminally ill with cancer, she was overwhelmed with how I knew exactly what to do to help make things easier and more comfortable for her. One of her cousins who had never met me before actually thought I was my mother-in-law's nurse because of the way I cared for her, this was when my mother-in-law made me promise her that I would become a carer!
I kept my promise to her and became a carer 10 months after she passed away which was 15 years ago. I have never looked back since, my only regret is that I didn't become a carer sooner, I love everything about it, it's a very rewarding job, and I love to put smiles on my clients' faces. Working for the right company really makes a difference, I never feel like it's a job, it's just part of my day, part of my life to get up and visit my clients and take care of them. I have cared for a lot of people over the years. I remember each and every one of my clients I have loved and cared for...

I started Right at home 6 months ago, it has been the best care company I have ever worked for. I have been working as a carer for a long time, I love the satisfying job role. I love to try and improve other people’s lives as I get a great sense of reward knowing I’ve tried my best to help others and it makes me feel valued. I have a wonderful relationship with the clients and I will go above and beyond and go that extra mile. I love chatting and having banter, I love them showing me pictures and telling me their stories from some time ago. I have a desire to look after people, it’s the most rewarding job I’ve ever had. I enjoy my work and you get to meet a lot of lovely families not only do you look after the service users, but you also look after their families. The best of it is supporting individuals by helping them to live in their own homes, I have so much compassion about my job.

About me.
I worked for Mark's and Spencer's at Gemini, I trained as a master barista trainer and held the post for 26 years.
I retired in 2021, but I wanted to still keep busy while helping others, so I decided to apply to Right at Home, this is where my new chapter began. I love my Job, not only do I enjoy caring for our wonderful clients.
I love baking and have supported events at Right At Home. I also walked 8k for Alzheimer's last year at Tatton Park with some of the team and raised £745.
I really enjoy helping others and meeting new people. It's lovely when you gain trust in others and you know you are making a difference.
Nothing phases me and I love a challenge.
Since Joining Right at Home I have made so many new friends my Christmas card list is now enormous.
