Due to my mother's health, the amount of care required is reviewed regularly, as sometimes care has to be changed or increased at very short notice. The team are always friendly, helpful and efficient. My mother loves them all and says they are like a second family to her. If there are ever any queries or needs they always contact me immediately. It is such a relief to have people who care looking after her as we live several hours drive away.

From the moment I called about care for Mum, I was really impressed. Not only do they provide excellent support for Mum but they have helped me too - I’m not blessed with patience and looking after someone with advancing Alzheimer’s is tough. Mum is happy, I’m happy. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

My 85-year-old uncle has now moved into a care home after living on his own with dementia for more than a year. He was only able to continue to live on his own house thanks to the dedicated support from Respectful Care. Their carers visited twice a day, providing much-needed company, always with good humour and respect, and ensuring my uncle was well fed, warm and taking any medication. My uncle's surviving family all live miles away, so it was great to be able to rely on carers to ensure his wellbeing and security. The caring team were almost always the same people so strong relationships were built and if there was anything untoward, I could be sure of a phone call from the carers themselves or from head office. If my uncle wandered, carers would find him; if he needed shopping, they would do this. In fact, his needs were always well-considered and at the forefront of their activity. I would highly recommend Respectful Care.

My mother has been receiving care from the above agency for nearly a year. My mother is housebound with progressing dementia. The standard of care has been excellent, the carers are friendly and approachable as is the management and they all go way beyond the call of duty for their clients needs. When I was unable to visit in the summer because of quarantine restrictions, they did all of the shopping and cleaning as well. My mother absolutely loves her carers and they have made the effort to try to take her out as well. This is something I have not managed to coax her to do. She responds much better to their requests so is better fed and in much better general health. When a problem arises which inevitably sometimes happens they are swift to deal with it, I have complete confidence in the service.

Respectful Care have been looking after my father for many months now with increasing visits lately as father nears the end of his life. As a family, we are entirely medical - all nurses, surgeons, GP, physios. All I can say is the care delivered by these girls is exceptional. Forget other nurses - they have forgotten what ‘true nursing’ is all about. Recent visits to hospital have proven my point in my father's case. You have all been wonderful and as a family, we thank you for your care, your love, your patience and your fun. This is true nursing and don’t let today’s ‘Graduate’ nurses tell you any different. Well done girls and a big thank you.

This is just a heartfelt thank you to the manager and all her staff at Respectful Care, Nottingham South.
After an accident at home and a prolonged period in hospital we decided to make every attempt to get Dad home with care.
Despite all the difficulties dealing with bureaucracy and Dad's ever-changing needs, the team were always there for us.
Dad developed several good relationships with his regular carers and it was always a joy to see his eyes light up when they arrived.

Caring at home is a challenge, make no mistake, but with the help of carers it is achievable and the manager will always accommodate the changes that will be required.

Mum has really enjoyed having the help from such friendly faces. She was very unwell initially just before lockdown and they have enabled her to recover a lot of her independence. I don’t know what I would have done without them as for eight weeks she wasn’t allowed visitors apart from carers.

Thank you from all the family and Mum of course.

This review would be excellent if there were more consistency in the persons sent to care for me. I hate having to explain yet again what needs doing and where things are. Most of the staff are a pleasure to have in the house, but there is a tiny minority I would rather not see at all.

My mother is 98 and has dementia but still lives in her own home. All carers treat her with the utmost care, kindness and understanding and keep me informed of any problems that arise. They are much appreciated even if she cannot remember who they are or if they have visited her that day.

My mother is generally very happy with the care and carers that she receives and meets. From my point of view, as the main carer, as it were, I too am generally pleased. I have recommended them to at least two other families, and both are very pleased with the input which I take as a good sign.

This was a difficult month. First 3 weeks was regular care, then lockdown. The company gave clear instructions to family and friends regarding visiting and outlined changes to be made re staff input. Care has continued well during this period of high pressure on staff.

Generally, the company's office is easy to contact by phone and there is also an emergency call system which is effective. All staff are pleasant and helpful, and many of the care staff go above and beyond to meet the needs of my mother and communicate with me.

Our mother and all the family are very happy with the care she receives. The carers are so very good with mum, they help her with anything that she needs, and we know that Mum is in safe hands. They make her meals, and if a family member is doing a meal for Mum, they will do some cleaning if needed and then sit and have a chat with Mum.

Mum is very happy to see them, they make her smile and laugh. In this difficult time where the family can not come to see Mum, I still come with her shopping and sit with her and the carers talk to me regarding how Mum is doing. I personally have a lot of respect for the carers and the company; when I have rung them for anything, they help straight away when possible, thank you.

Respectful Care has been looking after mum for several years. I cannot praise them enough for all they have done and continue doing in supporting my dad with caring for mum in what has been a difficult few years. They have been an absolute godsend. Nothing is ever too much trouble.
The careers are always very professional, maintaining high standards. They always have time not only for mum but also for dad. They treat mum with dignity and are patient, caring and respectful at all times, but more importantly, they treat her like a human being. They are understanding and considerate to her needs, which constantly change because of her Alzheimer’s.
Respectful Care is more like an extension to the family, and we have built up a great rapport not only with all the carers but, also the whole management/administrative team.

It was a struggle before I found them, I feel my mum is now in the best hands. Respectful Care is a company; that really do care.

Care is in Emma’s DNA. She was previously a District Nursing Sister. She was quickly promoted at a young age after gaining a degree in district nursing, and she became a specialist in leg and ulcer management and palliative care.

She has a passion for improving outcomes for clients and finds caring an extremely rewarding career. She loves to share her knowledge and expertise with the team, helping to keep clients at home and out of the hospital for as long as possible.

Emma has several qualifications but is especially proud of her Diploma in Adult Nursing, BSC (Hons) in District Nursing, and her NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.

Sarah works alongside her sister Emma and has always been proud of the care and support she has given to people. When the opportunity presented itself for her to have the chance to have a positive impact on people in the community, she did jump at the chance.

Sarah says that Respectful Care offers competitive rates of pay and a flexible rota. But what stands out for her is that staff have the ability to prioritise care.

Alix Brooks Job Title: Care Coordinator Joined: 2016
Alix Brooks

Alix Brooks joined Respectful Care after a long career in the NHS, particularly working in the areas of mental health, drugs, and alcohol services. She has specific experience in one-to-one sessions with service users and their family members, and of engaging with other services to ensure the wellbeing of service users.

Alix has always wanted to make people’s lives better. She started her career by volunteering in health and social care, and this opened the door to working with the NHS.

After 15 years though, she felt she needed a fresh challenge - and that is when she came to Respectful Care. To begin with, Alix worked as a care and support worker, but she quickly became a staff mentor and then a Client Team Leader. However, with Alix’s organisation skills, she was quickly sought after for care-coordinating. Alix assures that our clients receive their required care at the preferred time and manner, whilst assessing our staff’s skill and competence to carry out the conditions.

She says that when she was applying for job roles, the term Respectful in Respectful Care really stood out to her, and having worked here, she knows respect is essential to the care we provide.

Alix has an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, OCN Level 3 in mentoring skills, PTPLF Adult teaching, and she has several care-related certificates.

Susan Parkin Job Title: Client Team Leader Joined: 2016
Susan Parkin

Our Client Team Leader, Susan Parkin has been in the Health and Social care industry for over 20 years. She has worked for various domiciliary care companies, working at Respectful Care for the last quarter.

With Susan’s vast amount of experience in the sector, Susan first took to management as a Care Coordinator where she ensured that the service ran as smoothly as possible. She possesses an excellent approach with her staff and clients. Her methods surround consistent and thorough communication, making sure that all tasks are completed in a timely manner and to the expected ‘Respectful Care’ standard.

Susan’s current role as Client Team Leader requires her to assess our client’s needs before their care package commences. Susan makes sure they are receiving the best possible care by reviewing the care plans regularly and continuously communicating with staff regarding any changes. She is the lead liaison when it comes to medication and the quality of care, meaning our clients are in very safe and capable hands.

Susan Goffin Job Title: Client Team Leader Joined: 2017
Susan Goffin

Susan Goffin’s journey into care started when she joined a nursing home in Beeston working weekends (when she was just 15 years old!) She soon left school and went to college where she studied for her NVQ level 2 in Business Administration and I.T. Susan found this unfulfilling and missed her responsibilities at the care home. Having enjoyed her work in care, Susan returned to work at a residential for 7 years.

Susan first started working in domiciliary after she had her first child in 2003. She worked there for a further 7 years where she gained experience in the community. Susan is a big promoter of care in the community as it allows vulnerable adults to remain as independent as possible, for longer.

Susan worked her way up to the Field Supervisor and then Care-Coordinator. She now works for Respectful Care as a Client Team Leader where she reviews our client’s care to make sure they are happy with what they receive. Susan has since reported that she loves working for Respectful Care as everyone within the company is so optimistic and encouraging. We encourage great teamwork alongside great friendships.

Kierra Ashby Job Title: Staff Team Leader/Recruitment Manager Joined: 2020

Kierra has had quite a journey with the company by originally taking base at Head Office, Mansfield, as a Care and Support Worker. She then moved location and decided to stay with Respectful Care by moving to the South Notts branch. She was welcomed with open arms as a genuinely caring and compassionate person, willing to introduce herself to new clientele.

It wasn’t long until Kierra proved her ambitions by taking other carers under her wing. She was promoted to Mentor so that she could introduce new carers to the industry and share her passion for Health and Social Care.

Upon her return to work after maternity leave, Kierra was introduced to the management team. With the company growing, and Kierra’s skills around people management, she was the perfect addition to our staff leader team. Kierra hopes to grow the company’s staff team by 30% by the end of 2022.

Lauren Rawson Job Title: Business Administrator Joined: 2021
Lauren Rawson

Lauren is Respectful Care’s very own Business Administrator. She has recently embarked on her apprenticeship with the company to develop her skills in healthcare administration.

Lauren supports the management team by answering the phones and taking messages from our staff team and clientele. Lauren has a brilliant rapport with every person she communicates with.

She is learning what it takes to be an exemplary carer, by shadowing the team out in the field. However, despite being only 16 years of age, Lauren put her foot in the door with her school years by studying her Health and Social Care GCSE.

Lauren is a quick learner and despite only a few months on her apprenticeship, she has really settled into the team. She is a great help to all of us.
