Home Instead (West Exeter & Teignbridge)

We have had wonderful support for our Mum from Home Instead. Carers are king and responsive to her needs and care requirements; respectful and patient. We will miss them; now Mum is no longer with us.

My elderly mother needed personal care to stay in her own home. The ladies who provided this were always caring and helpful; they became her friends. She looked forward to their visits and chatter. The office staff were equally obliging and always managed any change to the routine without hesitation. Very good, reliable and friendly service from all.

The carers from Home Instead were kind, warm and patient with my Dad. They went above and beyond in many ways over the almost 2 years they visited Dad. During the last few weeks of his life, they were so gentle and patient and encouraged him to get as much out of each day as he could and sat beside him and just kept him company when he could no longer eat or get out of bed. I would recommend them to anyone and thank the carers and the people I’ve met and spoken to in the office who were always kind and helpful.

Overnight carers were quickly provided after Dad had a short, but quite traumatic experience in a care home, which left him feeling insecure about being on his own. And, on two occasions, Dad has become very confused, disorientated and quite frightened during the day and Home Instead have had someone with him within 30 minutes, to reassure him and stay with him until he feels more settled - absolutely above and beyond! Therefore, I want to be clear that this feedback is not just about the carers, but most certainly includes the office based staff too. Without them, nothing would happen.

Home Instead have always been very professional, friendly and pragmatic in their dealings with my mother. They were also very flexible and willing to help and suggest better ways in which the care could be provided.

All carers arrived punctually and did whatever tasks were asked of them. Some made suggestions about additional help they could offer. One or two seemed to have little knowledge of food preparation for meals, but they followed instructions. All were considerate, attentive and friendly.

I have found the care I receive is to be rated as first-class. Both the office and my carer are excellent in everything they do. In my home, my carer is really so helpful and thorough, nothing is too much trouble for her. She is always cheerful and uplifting to me, together with being thoughtful in assisting me with decisions needed to be taken. My home is a better place to live in now with the support I am receiving.

Oh my! How would we ever have managed without home Instead Senior Care? My husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer in February 2019. As soon as Home Instead became involved we were both cared for. Nothing was ever too much. The girls were caring and thorough. The management left nothing unsorted. We are so grateful to a wonderful team. Sadly, despite all the care, my husband passed away on September 7th 2019.

We received such kindness, care, respect, friendship, dignity and always on time. It made mine and his life so much easier to cope with and let me keep some energy. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The care and sincere friendship given to my husband and myself for the last few weeks of his life could not have been more professional, supportive and genuine. It helped us both more than I can say and I will never forget. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

It was good to know that the Home Instead Carer was building a relationship with my Aunt so that she could build on this as time went on. There was a lot that could be offered by the carers from Home Instead to match support required for my Aunt's needs. Sadly my Aunt was admitted to hospital and has not been able to be discharged home so we have not been able to see this caring relationship flourish.

From the moment the carers entered the house, you could tell that they were professional and very friendly and so helpful.

The director and the team offer a first class care service. Not only do they provide an invaluable lifeline for those wishing to stay at home but also to those who need extra support to do so. They can always be relied upon - they even managed with the heavy snow earlier in the year! The carers are real professionals and they have become good friends with my Mother who looks forward to seeing them.

The care and support provided by the manager and his team is second to none. The carers treat my clients with dignity and respect and above all have a great deal of natural empathy and an extremely caring attitude. I would not hesitate using this team for any of my clients as I know the care received will be of a very high standard. Nothing is too much trouble and I regularly turn to the management team when I require care at short notice. In particular, I am very impressed with the way the carers get to know my clients which really makes an impact on their everyday lives. I must also mention the manager who has given my clients exceptional support and who is also very well liked by both clients and their families.

After a fall, my cousin needed help at home and needed it to start quickly. Home Instead pulled out all the stops to get the paperwork in place and get the right carers lined up. They started just one week after my first phone call. The family, who all live a long way away, are grateful to know that reliable people go in every day and will help with just about anything.
