Extremely helpful, professional staff, going the extra mile to facilitate my father's needs in an efficient and caring way. Everyone I have dealt with has been so friendly and supportive. I feel confident that my Dad is going to get the support he needs to live independently for as long as possible.

The carers are very supportive and friendly. They are very patient and no job is hard for them. They support me with washing and dressing my top half due to a shoulder operation in January. They wash my hair, assist with my shower, change my bed for me and do other jobs I cannot do myself. At the moment
they have a staff shortage due to holidays and sickness, so the times are various at the moment, but otherwise very good service. I would also like to thank the office staff too.

The care given by the team was beyond amazing. How they calmed my nan on her bad days. The peace of mind they gave the family knowing she is being looked after to the highest standard and she also had a smile on her face when they had been around. The support given while my grandad was in hospital,

As we're new to having carers we have managed well with our live-in carer and myself doing this for two and a half years.
Things changed with Mum's condition and sadly after Dad's passing we needed extra help. Alcedo came highly recommended.
I have my own business and hear of problems with some care
companies so I was very worried about bringing carers in. But I'm very happy with my choice of Alcedo as my mum is my priority and I'm confident Mum is in good hands.

Alcedo came out to see us and explained everything to us about what care we would get. They were very nice when we met them, very polite and respectful to us. Since we started, the carers coming to the house are very polite, happy, funny, make conversation with you, respect us and our house. They go

I had a holiday in Blackpool and whilst I was there Alcedo Care Blackpool branch took fantastic care of me. They came to my hotel twice every day to assist me, at the times I requested. The carers were friendly caring and very professional and the office staff could not do more for me. I would recommend

A member of your staff called today to get a signature and while here my husband was in distress and needed the commode and bed. The carer got him sorted and into bed showing kindness and care. We were very impressed as we have been with the carers coming in the first few days

The carers from Alcedo Care Blackpool have been absolutely outstanding even more so as my husband is a 'complex case'. The carers are always on time, they are very efficient and caring towards me also. I cannot thank them enough for what they have done for my husband and also the help and respect to
me. It is nice to know that my husband is in very good hands and I don't have to worry about his wellbeing. Alcedo carers are beyond outstanding. We are very lucky to have them.

Finally, I just wanted to say a great big thank you for all the care Alcedo carers gave my mum. It was hard the first few weeks to let people who I didn't know come into my mum's home to care for her as no one you think can do it like you. How wrong was I? For 8 months we worked together doing the best
we could helping mum, I got to the point where I trusted them and I stepped back. Alcedo Care were amazing and looked to mum in the best way possible in every situation. They all became part of the family their understanding, tolerance when she was having a bad day, the laughter when she was on form. They always were there for me when I was upset and needed to talk. We got her from not being able to walk to walking with her frame again, it was a long haul but we did it, that's all she wanted. She was determined and a fighter. That dreaded time came for her to be reunited with my dad. So it was time for Alcedo Care to move on and I must honestly say I miss them all. Once again, thank you.

I have no hesitation in recommending this company to anyone. The carers are of the highest professional standard. The care is consistently high and the attitude towards me has consistently been one of dignity and respect. Each shift brings differently varied challenges for the staff and each member
of the team meets those challenges and deals with each episode appropriately. They are always cheerful and their attitude is upbeat and positive. When they leave I feel comfortable, safe, and relaxed looking forward to their next visit.

My grandmother was looked after by Alcedo, she had MS and was disabled, so she had very specific needs. The Field Care Supervisor and the whole team gave her excellent care and truly went above and beyond to brighten her day with many personal touches. She has sadly passed away now, and some of her
carers even attended her funeral. I am beyond grateful for the care she received in her final few years, thank you!

I have been with Alcedo now for over a month with the complex team who have supported my recovery all the way. The team of carers are amazing and support me with my daily activities and goes above and beyond. It’s great having nurses on hand to support the team with my condition. Myself and my wife

Andrea Woodruff

I'm Andrea, the Area Manager for Alcedo in Lancaster and Blackpool, with over 10 years of experience in all aspects of care. I started with Alcedo in December 2022 as a Coordinator for the agency side of the business, progressed to Care Manager in Blackpool, and now proudly oversee both areas in my current role.


Originally from Gibraltar, I began my career in care working in a children’s home, supporting families through a 12-week programme designed to help parents reunite with their children. After moving to the UK in 2015, I spent some time in insurance management before returning to care following maternity leave, and I haven’t looked back since.


I’ve truly found my niche in this sector. I love what I do and feel privileged to work with such a committed and compassionate team. Our clients and staff are at the heart of everything we do, and I’m passionate about maintaining the high standards Alcedo is known for.


When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me enjoying days out with my husband and our three children, or relaxing with a good Netflix series.

My name is Michaela and I’m the Deputy Manager for Alcedo Care Blackpool.


This is an industry that is new to me but I felt right at home as soon as I began my work out in the community.


I love to help people and love listening to people's stories and tales of their lives.


I began to think about my future development and looked into becoming an ambassador for my area but then I got an opportunity to join the fantastic office team and become a care coordinator so that I can continue to help and assist with clients' care packages and needs from behind the scenes.


My new role has me facing a lot of challenges daily but I have a lot of support and help from everyone in the office so that we can overcome obstacles as a team.


I have since been promoted to deputy manager and I am so proud to be a part of the management team.


My animals mean the world to me and they always manage to comfort me when I need it. I love to travel and always look forward to my next break away whether it is UK or international.
