I feel reviewers should speak freely and honestly when writing, and not be subject to undue constraint. It goes without saying that, in a public review, it is both inappropriate and improper to identify individuals or their specific areas of responsibility. That said, I give my unfettered opinion of the service provided to my friend who has been under Nexus Care Services for more than a decade.
The quality of care and physical support provided by Nexus is of an exceptionally high order. My friend has been treated with the utmost love, care and support, especially during recent months when she has needed an additional layer of emotional support, following upon the death of her younger sister. All Nexus staff have been exemplary. Without hesitation or reservation, I commend them. I would love to have them look after me one day!

Why is the administrative section so unwilling to enter into discussion or correspondence with those of us who also care?

Reply from John Court, Owner/Managing Director at Nexus Care Services

I am very familiar with the client and have been and continue to be proud of the service the carers provide. Indeed, they provide much more to her than a service and the compassion and love for her is clear for all to see. I acknowledge that you have given the management team ( of which I am part...

I have recently needed to appoint a carer to my 94-year-old, profoundly deaf mother-in-law. This was to ensure she is able to remain in her own home and surroundings. Having previously worked for and with the owner many years ago, my family and I chose Nexus Homecare. We had the pleasure of meeting the manager within four days of my initial contact. He met us and my mother-in-law at her home to establish our requirements and her needs. He was incredibly attentive, caring, helpful and informative. The service has been exceptional and the appointed carers have listened and are slowly building a mutual trust together with my mother-in-law to ensure her well-being and comfort in the ‘Winter’ of her life. We are thankful and grateful for the heartfelt service and care provided by a team of people in order to permit a certain peace of mind to a family who live far away from their loved one. Long may it continue during these harrowing times.

At the start of the current Covid19 situation, I was so anxious about my mom being in her care home I made the big decision to move her in with me. I then set up care at home package with Nexus. She had two split hours a day, they helped with dressing in the morning and breakfast then came back for lunchtime. I was at work most of the time so my mom was on her own at home with the carer visiting and my mom suffers from dementia, so her behaviour and tone can sometimes be a little disproportionate but the carers handled this in their stride with a smile and a reassuring way. I couldn't have been happier with the service she received and how her care was communicated with me if I was out at work. Knowing she was eating and drinking and had some company means the world to me. I can't see a time where I'll want Mom to go back into a care home knowing that I can extend her hours as we need, as her needs change. Thank you Nexus team.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and as the owner of the business, I take great pride in our level of communication. We really do have an amazing team of carers who are passionate about what they do. We do not settle for anything less than an excellent level of service, so why should you? So pleased we could help.

I have worked for Nexus for the last two years and progressed from being a part-time coordinator to managing a team of coordinators.
