I need help with showering and dressing after the shower. I shower in a bath board with the carer lifting one leg at a time over into the bath. After the shower I sit on a perching stool, my feet need extra attention with drying and cream. Which the carer does for me. A refreshing coffee is then made for me after the personal care in the bathroom. Also any requests for small household tasks are carried out.

All the csrers are very kind, helpful and very supportive. I can't fault the service at all. They do lots of jos in the house and also help me by picking up my medication and coming to the shop with me.

Home Instead have been responsive, understanding and professional. I was particularly impressed that they noted every detail of information I shared with them at the outset, and have used it when needed. The carers do a great job supporting my dad.

Home Instead have been supporting my mum for just over 9 months now. Mum was reluctant to have any help initially as she didn't feel she needed it - but as her daughter I was struggling to support mum and work 4 days a week. Fast forward 9 months and mum absolutely loves having "the girls" come in 4 mornings a week. They are all very professional, polite, kind and respectful. She loves the company and conversation they bring and really looks forward to seeing them come through the door. The health care professionals support her with dignity allowing her to do the things she can but helping her if / when she struggles. The management team back at the office are all very helpful and have always sorted out any minor problems I have had quickly and efficiently. I feel lucky to have found such a reliable and professional care company and would highly recommend them to others.

We started to use Home Instead Newport for support when Mum was diagnosed with a serious illness, someone came the next day to discuss our needs and we had one carer the following day to support Mum looking after Dad in the mornings. As time went on Mum needed more support with housework so we adjusted the care plan to add some extra duties and increased the number of visits. Sadly Mum passed away in December and it was the morning carer who found her and phoned the office who then contacted us and sent someone straight away to support the carer. We have found the carers and office staff to be friendly, approachable and professional and would recommend Home Instead to anyone requiring this kind of support.

We've been incredibly impressed with the level of care provided by Home Instead. The caregivers who support my father-in-law each day are compassionate, patient, and genuinely dedicated to his wellbeing and he enjoys their visits. Communication is always clear and timely, and the team consistently goes above and beyond to ensure comfort and dignity. It brings our whole family peace of mind knowing he is in such capable and caring hands. Highly recommend

Dad has early stage Alzheimer's and dementia. My sister and I provided very clear details of the care and assistance needed, however we have had to constantly communicate with the office to get things done. Simple tasks get overlooked or avoided, causing us to have to regularly pick up the pieces. As Dad's 'carers' my sister and I had hoped to lessen the burden on our own busy lives, as well as ensuring Dad has social interaction on a daily basis. We have had many care professionals visit Dad, despite our initial discussions around having one main CP assigned. Currently there are two regular CPs visiting. One of these CPs goes above and beyond to put things right following the other CP's visits. We are very grateful to have the excellent CP mentioned. Overall however, we are frustrated with the service provided by HomeInstead.

We haven't had the best experience with Home Instead. The carers get on well with my grandad and he loves their company. Unfortunately the care plan does not reflect his needs and therefore his basic needs have not been met and i feel the company have failed to safeguard their staff on multiple occasions.

Meetings between home instead, the family and the social worker hasn't resolved this so we have decided to find another care company.

Carers for my mother are amazing! They take care of her personal care with respect, discretion and sensitivity. Their sunny disposition helps us all with a difficult situation. They are also prompt and have excellent record taking skills, so I always know how things are going on the days I can't be there. It is a huge relief for all of us that my mother is in good hands.

The carers are very patient and caring.
Always flexible and willing to change timings and tasks.
Will go the extra mile in the office (e.g. to get arthritis medication)

Sometimes we don't get scheduling info for my mum in advance.

My mother received an excellent service from all the carers following a two week stay in hospital. They gave her the confidence that she needed to get back on her feet and got her independence back. All the carers are extremely professional and hard working. The lead person even came to meet us in the hospital before my mother left, despite it being her weekend off. I would highly recommend this company for service and professionalism.

We have been delighted to receive care and support from Home Instead Newport and Cwmbran for the past 12 months.
Our package was adjusted to our individual needs and was flexible. Initially the support was for me having needed emergency surgery.
My husband got to know the carers so that when my need ceased he agreed to companionship visits and these continue.
My husband looks forward to his companionship visits and enjoys a break from me. I am able to visir friends, family or shop.
He and his companion go for a ride, refreshment, chat and a short walk.
He has built a bond with a very special carer and really looks forward to his 2 hour visits.
Our experience with all the carers has been resoundingly positive. We have found the carers to be professional, caring, friendly, empathic and supportive. All carers are eager to understand and get to know their clients and family to ensure they give the best help and assistance possible.

We wholeheartedly recommend Home Instead to others.

Superb service. Helped us out of real spot when we were let down by care providers. They came to the hospital prior to discharge and were there on discharge. Staff are punctual, friendly and professional. They don't rush me and I feel safe and listened to.

Home Instead have been looking after my wife since February 2023. We have 2 carers per visit. Carers are very friendly, well-trained professionals. Their performance is regularly monitored by their supervisor/manager The time allocated to each visit means they can form a good relationship with the client. The app provides a summary of each visit and gives notice about which carers will make future calls. We are very pleased with the service.

I owe Home Instead so very much. My husband died on the 3rd of January 2018 aged 78 not unexpectedly but a shock nevertheless. Now I can't quite recall if Home Instead were visiting us already or if it was just after that. Several ladies came along and were all very lovely and eventually, to suit days and times, my present lady became my special visitor. Luckily we had loads of common interests that we gelled straight away, it was a tremendous bonus. So cheers and thanks Home Instead.

The experience with Home Instead Newport has been superb, my mother has daily support and the support staff are fantastic. My mother was very nervous at the start but now she absolutely loves the time with the support staff and she does more now than she has done over the last few years, walking/ food shopping/clothes shopping and help around the house - it has brought a huge level of independence and company for her. She tells me that she feels the support staff are like daughters she never had!

I opened Home Instead Newport, Cwmbran and Chepstow in October 2017 with my daughter Laura. I was thrilled to find Home Instead and to have the opportunity in the community that I have grown up in to be able to make a difference in the lives of the elderly. Having experienced caring for a close family member I know exactly how important good heartfelt care is.

I was attracted to Home Instead for its high-quality care and its ethos where the focus is on building a caring, trusting relationship between our client and our Care Professionals, which supports older people remaining living independently at home. We provide our clients with the very best support and will always work hard to make sure things are right for them. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family, walk my dogs and read. I am also a trustee of the Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales and I fundraise regularly for the children's hospital to help with providing play specialists, new equipment, refurbishments and much more.
