We are sorry that the son of the client was dissatisfied with our services and acknowledge that there were some operational issues with the provision but not to the degree for such a negative review.
We found that it is without foundation as we made every effort since the start of his mother's care package to provide an over and above-board service. The package came to us through the Local Authority, and we were informed that this package had been through several care agencies. We were providing 4 visits a day 7 days a week, from 417 visits we had to cancel 8 visits over a period of 4 months when care staff called off at short notice. We initially sourced a carer that had all the relevant skills and experience to be able to support his mother but during the 6th week, an altercation took place and the carer decided that she did not want to return. This was addressed with the son, and we immediately contacted the Local Authority. Despite all, we ended the package amicably from both sides.
It is unfortunate that this relative felt that the service to her father was unsatisfactory. However, the carer that was delivering the service had been with the client for almost a year and had worked with other clients and there were no issues or concerns raised about his performance, attendance or character. A review was conducted quite recently with the client and his NOK (daughter) who was present and the feedback from both was positive: that the carer is amazing, very hard working and caring.
We regularly manage reviews to maintain positive relationships with our clients so that they are involved and can speak about their care to increase client's satisfaction. We demonstrate that we listen to our clients and have a culture of transparency and can quickly reassure our client's that any concerns are taken seriously.
Concerns, complaints, and safeguarding however apparently minor, are investigated and lessons learned from it.

Egle has been awarded her City & Guilds Diploma Level 5 in Leadership for Health & Social Care and also a master’s degree in Business Management. Egle has a good understanding of the processes that facilitate the delivery of a safe and effective service. Egle is passionate about person-centred delivery and promotes this in all her literature. Egle has a daughter of 22 and enjoys spending time with her and her cat. Egle loves eating out invests a lot of time in the gym, and loves exploring new places and learning different languages.
Paulette Barrett is the Registered Manager for My Homecare (Haringey) With over 30 years of experience in the health and social care industry. Paulette has worked for several different establishments offering a range of services to various client groups to ensure clients’ needs are being met with person-centred care plans. She has achieved her BSC Social Policy/ 1year Psychology and up to date has completed her NVQ 3. Paulette is currently in the process of achieving her Level 5. She has also been awarded an Excellence Award in recognition of providing exceptional care and support. Paulette has one son who works in a similar industry as a manager. Paulette loves singing and enjoying time with family and friends.
