Thank you.
My father passed away in March 2023, however, he had used the services of Caring Folk for approximately four years. Dad had a good rapport with his regular carers to the point where when one of them went to Scotland for a break dad always asked if she would bring some black pudding and haggis back if he gave her the money which she was happy to do and Dad really appreciated that. The downside to all caring companies is that often the carers are not always there for the full amount of time the clients pay for. I do believe part of this is because they are rushing to deal with so many clients in a day. However, using the time that is paid for to have a chat with clients goes a long way, especially when they are by themselves for long periods. If my dad was still alive, I know he would recommend Caring Folk and so would I and the pricing is very reasonable compared to other companies.
Only had a concern about one staff member re hand-washing and time of bedtime call undertaken, it was too early for our uncle and set for her own convenience, but this was acted upon immediately by management and resolved. All staff members very caring and supportive especially when our relative became very unwell.
The family who manage Caring Folk are exceptionally experienced in helping relatives with social service/ nursing and medical issues.
I always felt they were there for us and many times anticipated needs ahead of us realising them ourselves. Jess did not hesitate to refer to trusted professionals for assessment of Mum's physical and environmental needs and initiated these herself whilst always communicating with us. It is purely because of this quality of care and insight that Mum is now as content as she is despite her complicated dementia.
Surely people realise by now how hard-pressed carers are, given the volume and nature of work that was after all once undertaken by rehabilitation wards, district nursing and other hospital-based environments.
We ask such a lot of companies like Caring Folk.
Our family will always remember their professionalism and kindness.
The staff and management at Caring Folk were great at looking after my parents during the latter months of their lives. Nothing was too much trouble for them but most of all they treated my parents with respect and dignity at all times. With their help, we managed to keep my parents together at home for as long as we possibly could until they both passed within 3 days of each other. They took away a lot of the stress that myself and my family were under at the time. I cannot thank them enough for what they did.
It is such a hard thing choosing somebody to look after your loved one when you’re not there. Caring Folk came into our lives when we needed them most. They not only looked after my mum but they put their arms around the whole family. Nothing was too much trouble, they always kept me informed when anything changed and helped me out by chasing the GP or healthcare provider. They’re the most considerate, kind and helpful group of angels who helped me and my family during and after a very hard time in our lives. We could not have asked for anything more from Caring Folk and nothing was too much trouble. I have recommended them to friends in the same position I found myself in and will carry on to do so.
Caring Folk are an amazing care company. They looked after my mum for the last remaining months of her life and nothing was too much trouble for them. From the management team down, everyone was fantastic, going above and beyond the call of duty. My mum looked forward to her daily visits and had a laugh with all the carers and looked upon them all as her extended family. She trusted her carers and spoke to them openly about her concerns at the end of her life. My mum's best interests were at the heart of everything Caring Folk did, although she didn’t always see it that way, especially when it came to hoisting and toileting! Any concerns were relayed to me straight away. Communication with family was exceptional. I had full confidence in everyone at Caring Folk and knew that my mum was safe whilst with her carers. The support I received from all at Caring Folk was exceptional, even after my mum passed away. I would not hesitate in recommending Caring Folk.
I know my mother often refused what the carers offered to do but I was very relieved to know that someone was at least popping in twice a day to check she was ok and chat to her and reporting back when there was a problem. In addition to regular visits and daily phone calls from myself and other family members, it meant that my mother was able to stay in her own home until a sudden, short illness led to her death in hospital a few weeks later.
My mum thought they were her friends and never stopped talking about them all including the managers. I can not thank them enough for everything there have done. Pot of gold for a company.
It has been a very anxious year for both myself (I live in Bristol) and my 93-year-old father. However, Caring Folk did a fabulous job in keeping me informed but also looking after Dad too - any concerns about him and they would let me know. They were super efficient at calling in any other support Mum needed i.e. nurses/doctors.
When Mum sadly passed, they were still there for Dad and myself - we were very touched that so many carers came to Mum's funeral.
I highly recommend them - thank you so much.
Excellent!
Caring Folk is very professional, and all the girls go above and beyond. I worked for Caring Fol,k so when they were looking after my mum, I knew she was in safe hands. The manager is lovely and kept me updated. After Mum passed away, they still made sure I and my family were ok. This is the best care team. I would highly recommend Caring Folk, and I would like to thank them for all they have done.
As a family, we were nervous to allow carers into our home but soon realised we were in safe hands.
Caring Folk were recommended by social services. The staff are professional, kind and caring, Mum loved their visits.
The management are very helpful too, whenever we needed to change our schedule everything was done as agreed.
Thank you all for your help and kindness, you made our days so much nicer.
Mum was really happy with everyone who was involved in her care, she needed someone to talk to as well as help and that was fulfilled.
Caring Folk cared for my mum for a while and did an amazing job. All the staff went above and beyond for her and always had smiles on their faces to cheer my mum up. I would recommend Caring Folk to anyone without hesitation.
We started using Caring Folk in June 2021 to support Mum after coming out of hospital. Throughout the months leading up to her re-admission to hospital and subsequent death in May 2022, she received the best possible care from the Caring Folk team. Only one carer was, in our opinion, unsuitable. Once this was brought to the attention of the management team it was immediately dealt with and rotas adjusted. The staff and management were very supportive of Mum's needs and the family's needs and quickly responded to any problems that arose offering advice and support as appropriate. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
Caring Folk made regular care visits to my father from November 2021 to May 2022. After a poor experience with another care company, it was refreshing to switch to Caring Folk and enjoy punctual service, carers who went beyond expectations and good regular communication with the management. As well as caring effectively for my father, Caring Folk allowed me to relax more when I was not with him because I knew he was in good hands. It was also very touching that the manager of the company and another regular carer attended the funeral of my father. Good, reliable, caring companies are hard to find but Caring Folk is definitely one of these.
We moved to them from a different company. During the change over the manager of Caring Folk kept me updated.
When my grandma passed away she had her family around her. A member of Caring Folk was also present. The lady was professional and caring towards everyone who was there. She handled the situation with dignity and professionalism.
The care continued solely for my grandad. Each member of staff who cared for him was empathic. Although occasionally due to his illnesses he could be cantankerous, each member of the team dealt with him professionally.
Any problems that occurred with his care I was informed. Staff are easily accessible and return calls if out of the office. Caring Folk are angels and they always went that extra mile.
I can't praise this company enough. The managers and their amazing team gave my mum outstanding end-of-life care. Mum came to see each carer as her friend and often looked forward to their visits and their company. They made her last few months as comfortable and as dignified as possible, often staying longer than their allotted time to assist with the things that were important to Mum, e.g. blowing/drying her hair a certain way and ensuring her she looked feminine, alongside other seemingly small tasks that were important to Mum. The care manager was regularly in touch with Mum and myself to ensure her care changed regularly, often daily as the cancer progressed, and was always friendly, approachable and efficient. The team gave the highest standard of care, nothing was too much trouble and, as a family, we will be eternally grateful and in awe of your individual skills and human kindness shown to myself and my sister when we struggled to cope with the speed of our mum's illness.
He looked forward each day to the visits and their chats. Thank you all!
