Overall Experience

Right at Home have been providing morning and evening personal care for my elderly mother for two years. All the carers have treated Mum (who has moderate but advancing dementia) with respect and kindness. They fullfill all the duties - including personal care, laundry meds, making breakfast etc - with competence and compassion. They are also reliable and punctual (unless delayed due to circumstances beyond their control). In addition to the face to face service that Mum has received, we have found that Right at Home's management, admin and finance teams efficient and friendly and responsive to any queries or when Mum's needs have changed. We are very grateful for the service and support.

Reply from Grant Attwood, General Manager at Right at Home (North Somerset)

This is so lovely to hear that your Mum has felt like she has been well supported, and treated with dignity. It is excellent to hear that both our care team, and our office admin team, have done their utmost to respond to any queries or changes in need. Thank you for taking the time to feed this back to us, and of course we will continue to do our very best. Warmest regards.

Right at home has support my child (age 24,) for approx 2yrs.whom is wheelchair bound with a rare genetic condition.we have 6 carers 3 times per day.they do everything I used to it certainly takes the pressure off when your working ect and we have another child.thry do all the personal care and we have good communication,my child has got a good relationship with the carers and the talk about alsorts it's difficult for them as child is non verbal but as they got to know us they manage to know what's needed.they always ask of there's anything else to be done before they leave, the odd window clean as I'm 5ft and putting up a Xmas tree in child's bedroom which is important to child.overall there nice people along with the office staff as it's no problem to sort out any issues

I am a disabled man age 81 - I use an electric wheelchair and am unable to stand or walk. I need care and my carer comes every morning at 7am to help me to get dressed, washed and ready for the day. My carer comes again at 9.45pm to help me get to bed. On Tuesday afternoon of each week my carer comes to do domestic work in my bungalow - this includes hoovering carpets, washing floors, bed changing, dusting, emptying bins and general tidying to keep my home neat and tidy.

My carers are employed by Right at Home care agency. The carers are very well trained and help me in every way. They clearly show that they enjoy their work, are always pleasant and have a serious interest in their job. The carers regularly attend in service training days to keep their skills updated. Whenever a carer has to be absent through sickness or annual leave the coordination team quickly find a replacement carer.

The management have a policy of regular reviews with clients.

Firstly I'd just like to say a big thank you to all the behind the scenes staff involved in organising everything. I can really appreciate the headaches it must cause sometimes especially with all the roadworks we've had around here. Secondly, the carers who come to my mothers 4 times a day...all the people who turn up are on time, courteous, happy and just brilliant...nothing is too much.
Once they have sorted my mother they sort the dishes (if I've been lazy or busy ), empty bins and anything that they think needs doing.
They have chats with mum and she feels very relaxed and they always seem to lift her spirit.

Thank you, each and every one of you.

I am very happy with my carers, they are very thoughtful and caring. Recently I asked if they could defrost my freezer and they did a wonderful job, very grateful. I can now put my frozen food in there, as before impossible. They hang my washing out and fold it when dried.

When your family member reaches the sunset of their life, with their mental and physical abilities being severely compromised, one of the most difficult things is to find some hope for the present and future, to give a family member some meaningful experience that would give them the boost to their spirit and the comfort in satisfying their needs.

The elder and more disable the person is, the harder is to provide such experience that they would find enjoyable and which could help them not to give up.

My mother and I are very fortunate to find such people, both carers and management, at Right at Home whose professional expertise, friendly attitude and kind desire to help have been making an enormous difference in my mum's life. According to my mother's words, the support she has been receiving prolongs her life and gives her the drive to cope with the challenges of every new day even when difficulties of living seem to be overwhelming.

We have been blessed meeting Right at Home.

When I was finding a suitable care agency for Mum straight away I found them very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
Mum seems very happy with the carers, it's nice to get a report each time the carers have been.

It's also nice to have the manager coming to Mum's home, and having a regular catch-up with me and Mum. Seeing how things are going, and being able to change things according to how Mum is coping. Very pleased with the care agency. Top marks from me! The only thing would be nice to have pictures of the carers who are looking after Mum.

Reply from Jasmine Frost, Care manager at Right at Home (North Somerset)

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I'm thrilled to hear that you and Mum have found Right at Home to be friendly and attentive. It's wonderful that the regular updates and visits from the manager are making a positive difference. Your suggestion about having pictures of the carers is a great idea, and I'll make sure to pass that along.

I get along with all the Carers very well and it's a highlight of my day to see them.
My main Carer is over twice a week and we get along very well! She's extremely understanding of my abilities and also my struggles and thinks of potential issues I may face with my mobility before even I do! She's definitely a highlight of my week and I always can't wait for the next visit!
I am able to access the community with her which gives me a great sense of freedom that I feared I wouldn't get back after my mobility declined.
We've built up a very strong helping relationship.
My carer is an absolute delight to be around and she has my full trust. She is efficient, caring, and overall just an amazing human being! I could not be happier with the care I receive from her and the other Carers.

As a whole, the company seems very understanding of my struggles. There's no attempt to tick boxes (or it doesn't show that way in reviews) which makes them a perfect person-centred approach to care.

Reply from Grant Attwood, General Manager at Right at Home (North Somerset)

Thank you so much for this brilliant feedback for our amazing Care Team. And also for your kind words about the fact that we do not just "tick boxes". Meet the Team (10)

Grant Attwood Job Title: Nominated Individual Joined: 2019
Grant Attwood

Hello. I’m Grant

Before I joined the care industry, I was an operation and finance professional. I felt like I wanted to do more than just sit in a corporate environment, so I am thrilled to be able to combine my business skills with my desire to support people in my local community.

I have lived in North Somerset for the past decade, with my wife, two boys, and a beagle. We enjoy walks in the woods and have recently taken up cycling as a hobby.

My team and I would be delighted to answer any questions you might have, and hopefully, be able to offer support to you or a loved one.

Pat Reid Job Title: Registered Manager Joined: 2021
Pat Reid

Hi, I’m Pat.

I am the Registered Manager at Right at Home. My job entails a little bit of everything, including liaising with our wonderful carers and our special clients.

I have been in the care industry for many years. I am extremely passionate about caring for people and ensuring that their needs are met. I lived in South Africa for 35 years, where I worked as a Cardiac ICU nurse. My husband and I moved to the UK in 2016 to be closer to our family. Since then, I have worked as a carer in the community in North Somerset, and also been involved in all aspects of management within Home Care.

I am thrilled to be part of the Right at Home North Somerset team, which is constantly striving to achieve the very best for its clients and carers. Nothing is ever too much trouble!

I love spending time with my family, and my two grandsons. I love going for walks in the countryside, and I am an avid reader. I also enjoy doing all sorts of handwork and spend a great deal of time working in my garden.

Stacey Barron Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2021
Stacey Barron

Hi, I'm Stacey and I have been with Right at Home since January 2021.

I have done a number of roles in that time from CareGiver to Administration to Compliance and now I am the Deputy Manager.

I have worked in Care since 2010 and have a real passion for providing quality, person centred care to those that need it. Being able to provide someone with the help and support they need has always been the most rewarding thing for me and the reason I do what I do. Seeing the joy on the faces of our clients when they get to visit the Zoo or see the Pantomime drives me to provide a social aspect for them as well as provide the day to day care that they need.

I enjoy spending my spare time with my family and going on holidays/adventures with them. We love our camping trips!

Clair Locker Job Title: Co-ordinator Joined: 2023
Clair Locker

Hi, my name is Clair and I am the Co-ordinator for Area 2.

My background is in early years child care management, managing multiple childcare settings. I have now moved into adult care and am thoroughly enjoying this new direction.

In my free time, I love to bake delicious treats for my family and friends. When I’m not busy baking, I like to take my dog paddleboarding with me around the rivers and lakes of the South West.

I am delighted to be a part of the Right at Home family and to learn all about adult care in the community.

Peggy Freeman Job Title: Client Liaison Officer Joined: 2021
Peggy Freeman

Hi, I am Peggy.

I have only worked in care for a year and a half after having come from a legal background. They say when one door closes, another opens. After I was furloughed and then made redundant, I decided to make a career change. It was the best decision I made. I didn’t have any experience in care but with the guidance and training of our team here at Right at Home I now have a thorough grasp of the world of care. I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting all our clients and working alongside our amazing carers. I still do some care calls and enjoy catching up with the people I have previously cared for.

I used to live in South Africa but returned to the UK in 1986 and have resided in North Somerset ever since.

I have a beautiful tabby cat who shares my life and I sometimes wonder who is in charge of our household!

I enjoy singing and belong to a local Acapella Chorus, called Waves of Harmony. When I am not busy singing with them, I enjoy reading, going for walks and meeting up with my friends.

I am delighted to be part of the Right at Home team.

Laura Davis Job Title: Training and Development Coordinator Joined: 2021
Laura Davis

I have worked in care for about 10 years in a variety of different aspects i.e. Care Homes as well as Home Care, in both Carer and Senior Carer roles. I loved the variety of Home Care and seeing different clients so came to Right at Home nearly 2 years ago.

I love Care Work: being able to help each client with whatever it may be. Previously I have worked with Right at Home in the role of Client Liaison Officer. I have now taken on a more staff-focused role, supporting with Training and Development and conducting spot checks in the homes of our clients, to ensure our care team is fully equipped to deliver really Outstanding care.

Other than work I have 3 beautiful daughters to run around after. They keep me busy and smiling each day.

Amy Snow Job Title: Client Liaison Support Joined: 2023
Amy Snow

Hi, My name is Amy and I support the Client Liaison Team here at Right at Home.

I have an extensive background working in the childcare sector for 13 years. I am passionate about caring for others and transferred across to the adult care sector in 2022.

I am vibrant and energetic often spending my time singing and participating in outdoor activities.

I am excited to have the opportunity to support our clients to live independently in their own homes.

Jennifer Graham Job Title: Client Liaison Support Joined: 2022
Jennifer Graham

I have worked in the Care industry for 16 years, working mostly in the community, but also have worked in a care home. I especially enjoyed working in the community, meeting new people, and giving help and support to help people remain in their own homes for as long as possible.

I came to Right at Home nearly two years ago. Right at Home gave me support and encouragement in finishing my NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care and supported me with any training I was interested in undertaking.

I really enjoy meeting clients and supporting our CareGivers.

Amy Collins Job Title: Community Development Officer Joined: 2025
Amy Collins

Hi, I’m Amy and I’m the Community Development Officer.

My background is with a weight loss company and I love being out in the community meeting and engaging with people and supporting them in whatever way I can as well as running group events. I’m looking forward to sharing with potential clients the help and support that is available to them through Right at Home and helping strengthen the community feel of the company.

In my spare time, I enjoy cold water swimming, and if not in the water I can often be found on the beach walking my dog. I also enjoy travelling and am a firm believer in always having the next holiday booked!

Cheryl-Ann Gaff Job Title: Co-ordinator Joined: 2025
Cheryl-Ann Gaff

Hi, I’m Cheryl.

I’ve worked in care, mainly domiciliary, for nearly 20 years, starting as a care assistant and progressing through to my current role.

I enjoy the role I am in as I started my career as a Carer, so I understand how things work out in the community. These days, I also enjoy being able to multitask in and out of the office environment. Right at Home is a great employer with a good reputation. I value that we really put the Clients and Carers first. All of the team are very caring and welcoming.

I enjoy yoga, running and football in my spare time. I am a thrill seeker and love singing and dancing. Favourite TV shows: Strictly Come Dancing, Friends and Grey's.
