Visiting Angels Cambridgeshire

We appreciate the visits of the carers who come and care for us and make our lives more comfortable.

I have found all the Visiting Angels carers excellent. They are well trained, efficient and always courteous. Some of them find time for some conversation - this is so important to me and the physical help. I always look forward to their visits, which currently are 4 times a day.

The carers have changed my quality of life & I am so grateful to have them all.

Since joining the caring system with Visiting Angels, I have found them to be of excellent quality and very professional. In my caring needs, treat me with respect and talk to me all the time. Nothing is of to much trouble and long may it last.

Visiting Anbels. Best. I love going out for lunch with all these angels. My life is now absolutely great.

Visiting Angels have been a huge help to mum, they make her life happy and she love's to go out and spend time chatting and people watching. They also help around her home & with personal care when needed.

I have had long term care for both my wife and myself with excellent organised care and with many of the long estabished carers personally.

The Angels that visit to care for my mum are kind, courteous and patient. They are cheerful, encouraging and friendly. They treat her with dignity, respect and warmth. They react to her stories and comments (often repeated) as if its the first time she has said it. The Angels are all respectful of my mums choices, helping with hair, makeup and jewellery to help wtih self-identity. They are supportive of family carers and take time to support us too!

The carers carry in their experience and ideas of caring, but one, on the whole, kind and thoughtful. Some of them are consistently using their 'tablets', which seem more important than helping the client. I do realise that the information put on there is essential, or at least some of it. The whole 'caring' experience has been a new, interesting, conception for me, and a learning curve, even at 94 years old.

My husband has Lewy Body dementia and I was his carer until a hospital stay in January left him needing much more help to dress and shower in the mornings. A one hour visit every morning from the Angels gets his day started with a smile and also gives me time to start my day gently and sometimes fit in a coffee with a friend. I completely underestimated what a difference this would make to our lives. I couldn't cope without our Angels now, they are cheerful, kind and exceptionally patient and it is a comfort to know they will be there if I need more help in the future.

The two main carers we have we could ask for better for my wife.

The angels have been an absolute God send for my grandad. Thanks to their kind and reliable attitude, my grandad is able to go out for walks have someone to talk to, address day to day tasks and feel safe in his home. It gives me great peace of mind to know that he is recieving regular visits and that I can have open and trusting communication with the care team.

All of the angels who visited our home showed compassion towards my husband and were aware of his needs and likes and dislikes. He regarded them more as friends than carers and looked forward to their visits.

My wife suffers from vascular dementia and vascular Parkinsonism and has been confined to a wheelchair for over a year. We are both in our eighties and I suffer from arthritis but over the last year I have provided most of her daily care. As it now takes me a while in the morning to loosen up we have been assisted each morning by Visiting Angels who get her out of bed, wash and dress her and seat her on her wheelchair ready for me to give her breakfast. The carers are without exception very considerate and careful and my wife enjoys their visits. The chat and laughter is quite loud sometimes but it does set my wife up for the day. The carers are always asking if they can help me with other household tasks and where possible I take advantage of their offers. All in all we enjoy a very positive and welcome service.

Excellent service from start to finish. Mum normally goes to be at 10. But was so animated and articulate with the carer. She was still up at 11.30 pm. Would not hesitate to recommend Visiting Angels service.

My mum had been in a care home for 6 weeks as respite. She lost alot of weight and had significantly deteriorated. Visiting Angels provided live in care on her return home and they have been amazing. The carers have been able to involve my mum is activities, go out for meals, exercise and supported her with personal care. With advance dementia, I didn't expect her to improve but they have performed a miracle. I am so thankful as we did not have this experience with previous carers.

My aunt has been really quite unwell and her health has been fluctuating for a few years. She has really struggled to adjust to the need to care at home and has not been an easy patient to care for. The carers at Visiting Angels have been so understanding of this and have worked really hard to find strategies of how to approach my aunt and when to give her space. They have communicated this between each other to help to develop consistency and it has hugely benefited my aunt. Once they were able to send in a long term carer they did and now there is a team of regular carers that swop with the main carer to give her breaks. They have understood the sudden loss of her husband and circumstances around it have been very troubling and have been very supportive. They have kept us up to date as family and made it easy to work out what is needed.

All in all l would conclude the care we have is outstanding and couldn't ask for more; thank you for this wonderful team of carers.
