My name is Ellie.
I began my career in the care industry at the age of 18, starting in forensic mental health services as a Healthcare Assistant (HCA). Over the years, I transitioned into community-based settings, where I steadily advanced into leadership and management roles.
My ethos is rooted in a culture of care and compassion. I am dedicated to innovating and implementing person-centred approaches that ensure the delivery of high-quality care. My commitment to these principles drives me to continuously seek ways to improve the lives of those in my care.
Outside of work, I cherish spending time with my young family and husband. Another great passion of mine is horses, and I enjoy any opportunity to engage with them.
I have accumulated 14 years of experience in the care industry, working across a diverse range of sectors. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals in various capacities, each role allowing me to develop a comprehensive understanding of the unique needs and challenges within the sector. My passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of those I support drives my dedication to providing compassionate, high-quality care. I am committed to enhancing the well-being and quality of life for those under my care, ensuring that their needs are met with empathy, professionalism, and respect.
Having grown up in Watford, living on a working farm, Russell now lives and works in Dorset, and what a lovely county Dorset is. His young family love the great natural spaces and amazing coastline that is on his doorstep.
Russell's working life started as a part-time trolley collector for a big American Retailer, and 15 years later after a brief spell in Australia, he was running his own store. His experience in retail then took him to the position of Managing Director for an ethical retail chain in Bristol with a focus on Organic and high-welfare products. The big change came when, with the support of his wife, they invested in a Wiltshire Farm Foods franchise, which they have been running for a couple of years now.
Starting Bloomfield Care with Helen Blunden has been the most rewarding experience of all, learning all that goes into providing exceptional Care. We are very proud of the approach we take, understanding the partnerships between our clients and us.
When Russell is not working, he fills in as a taxi driver for his very busy children, with the two boys fully involved with Wimborne Rugby Club and his little girl wanting to go riding every spare minute.
My name is Helen, I have 4 children and 3 Grandchildren. I have worked in various sectors of the care industry. Throughout my career, I have taken on the role of an NVQ Assessor, Deputy manager, both in residential settings and within the community, as well as a care trainer.
I feel each of my roles has enabled me to develop the skills, knowledge and experience to lead me where I am today, which is passionate and dedicated to delivering a high service to our clients whilst empowering our staff to achieve their own goals and ambitions.
If you speak to those who know me personally and professionally, they will say I am kind, fair, compassionate, and approachable. My motto is that everything seems better discussed over coffee and cake!
With over 16 years of experience in the care industry, I’ve had the privilege of working across a variety of sectors—from running a domiciliary care agency to serving as a Registered Manager and business owner. Each role has deepened my passion for delivering high-quality, compassionate care.
I chose to join Bloomfield because of its strong ethos and reputation for putting people at the heart of everything they do. Their commitment to person-centred care, dignity, and respect perfectly aligns with my own values and approach to supporting others.
Outside of work, I live with my husband, with whom I've shared over 20 wonderful years. We love holidaying in the sun, but my true happy place is Cornwall. There, I enjoy paddleboarding, slowing down with a good book, and soaking up the peace and natural beauty the coast has to offer.
I started my journey in care over 14 years ago when I took a job as a carer, originally thinking it would simply be a part-time role around my husband and children. Very quickly I realised how rewarding the work was, and it soon became a career I truly love.
Over the years, I have worked in many roles across both domiciliary care and care home settings, including Carer, Senior Carer, Team Leader, Care Coordinator, Deputy Manager, Registered Manager and Trainer. Each role has helped me build a strong understanding of the care sector and the importance of providing compassionate, person-centred support.
I now work as the Client Relations and Business Development Manager, a role that suits me perfectly as I love meeting people, supporting families and helping them find the right care for their loved ones.
Outside of work, I am married and have three children. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, cooking and going on long countryside walks with our dog. I’m very much a people person and love building meaningful relationships, both in my work and personal life.
My journey in healthcare began at age 18, inspired by my personal experience supporting my grandfather through his journey with Dementia. I spent ten years with my first provider in Newbury, where I worked my way up from a frontline care role to Unit Manager. This decade of experience gave me a deep understanding of person-centred care and the importance of strong leadership skills.
More recently, I transitioned into mental health, working as a CPA Coordinator within a forensic hospital. This role has been incredibly rewarding, allowing me to develop expertise in complex case coordination and multi-disciplinary teamwork within a secure environment. I am truly passionate about advocating for others and ensuring high standards of support for every patient.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wonderful husband, children and our beloved Rottweiler, Rocky. We are a very family-oriented household and enjoy cooking and hosting friends, going out on my husband’s motorbike when the weather permits. We also travel to Bulgaria annually to visit family, which is a very important part of our lives.
