My aunt was reluctant at first to have anybody in her house but very quickly got used to having carers around who have been discrete, friendly and efficient. The focus is on my aunt’s needs and wishes. This week, after having a fall, my aunt has needed a change in the schedule, the flexibility of the Home Instead (Edgebaston) staff and system has enabled this.
I have found Home Instead very helpful and professional when dealing with my elderly aunt. I live in London and she is in Birmingham, and I feel happy that she has found a good match with a carer, that she has been able to build a rapport with. (Home Instead were also more than happy to provide another carer if the match was not successful first or second time around). What is also very good is that as I am in London, I am able to see the notes that they hold on my aunt online via an app. This includes visits, care plan and risk assessments, etc. The office is always more than happy to assist in passing on any information to the carer also, and I have been liaising with the carer on visits sometimes when she is with my aunt on any issues also. Overall, I would definitely recommend Home Instead.
Really happy.
After a heart attack, my wife developed dementia and had a TIA (mini-stroke). While recovering, the hospital resisted releasing her into my sole care, maybe due to my age (81). She was going to be difficult. It was only when we arranged for Home Instead to come for two hours on three mornings per week for washing, dressing, breakfasting and companionship that they allowed her to return home. There had been no time to shop around for care but we'd remembered a professional from the Mental Health unit saying how well Home Instead had cared for her own father. At first, it was uncomfortable having a stranger doing these tasks and I doubted her suitability though it may have been my fault. She was exchanged without fuss or need for a specific complaint. The new carer has been with us for two years now and senses exactly when to use her own initiative, just like a daughter. They had found a perfect match for an elderly couple rather set in their ways.
Home Instead have been caring for my elderly godmother who has limited mobility, asthma and suffers from an anxiety depressive disorder that can make her behaviour chaotic and unpredictable at times. Care has been increased as her needs have increased and she now has carers three times a day with extras when necessary. I cannot recommend them highly enough. The office staff are helpful and quick to respond and the carers themselves are wonderful, even when the going is tough and my godmother is going through a bad spell. They help with personal care, food preparation, housework, shopping, dental visits and companionship and take the initiative in lots of ways when needed. They make such a difference to both my godmother's daily life and to my peace of mind - priceless...
The relationship-based approach to care that I was looking for, for my dad, is a strength of Home Instead and the office staff and caregivers are very professional and caring.
If you are looking for a professional, friendly care company look no further. Exceptional care has been delivered in recent months during difficult times.
The management team go the extra mile to deliver what is needed and are available to contact with ease.
The carers display a positive, friendly attitude and are there to help in every way they can.
Home Instead has set the bar very high in our experience and are highly recommended for anyone who requires care at home.
Thank you all involved!
The team at Home Instead Edgbaston are first-class and always ready to offer prompt, friendly and useful help and advice. They have looked after my mother really well and nothing is too much trouble for them.
Caregivers that go the extra mile every time to provide care and companionship to my mother. We couldn’t function without them especially over the last few very difficult months. Amazing, compassionate and considerate people! All supported by a back office of professionals who are exceptional.
As a family, we are delighted with the care and support provided by Home Instead. They have provided high-quality care for both my parents for over 12 months. My Mum is now in a care home but was cared for at home with great respect, dignity and affection by Home Instead CareGivers and my Dad is still continuing to receive care and support from Home Instead at home. The CareGivers are all very friendly, helpful and kind and provide a professional service with great kindness and empathy. The office team keep in touch regularly and are always available to respond to any questions or queries quickly. Home Instead provide a very high level of care and service and will undertake any task required. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Home Instead Senior Care (Edgbaston).
Home Instead Edgbaston have consistently provided high-quality care and companionship to my father over the past few years. We employed them after being failed by other care agencies and the difference in the quality of care has been significant. Right from the start, my father was provided with a regular team of carers, who quickly became friends and provided company as well as excellent levels of care. This consistency was invaluable in enabling my Dad to build up a relationship with the carers, and also meant that they quickly became familiar with Dad's needs, medication etc and were quick to pinpoint any potential issues. As Dad's health deteriorated they were very quick to adapt their pattern of care and were an invaluable support to my family and I, particularly during lockdown, knowing that Dad was being well looked after when we could not be there. The office staff were also always super-efficient and very accommodating if we needed additional support.
The manager arrived on time as arranged. She was suitably wearing a face mask and gloves even though many organisations are not currently requiring this level of PPE. She explained it was a very recent decision in light of the increased covid19 cases. She was calm, polite and friendly, explaining the reasons for the review, giving the chance to ask questions. She was professional and efficient and reassured me and my mother regarding the high-quality care provided, as we have already come to know.
My dad required increasing levels of care at home until further illness forced him to move to a care home. All the carers were excellent - genuinely caring, punctual, skilled, efficient, kind and friendly. Fully compliant with every regulation. Administration and team management were also easy to deal with, and on the rare occasions necessary we could contact someone out of office hours. The same carers kept coming so they knew dad and could be on friendly terms (That's encouraging because it suggests that they are being treated properly by the company if staff turnover is low). The care notes were visible to us (and only us) via an app - this was handy as dad started to find it harder to speak to me on the phone. The only thing I would request they do differently is to offer some shorter calls - the minimum is an hour, and there were times (especially early on) when I felt that 30 or 45 minutes would have been enough, especially as the hourly rate is on the higher side.
She cannot do enough for me. She is so helpful and cheerful.
I always look forward to her visits.
Home Instead is well up to my standard.
Always on time. They do what I want to doing. Let me know when a change of personnel. Ask if I need a drink.
Everyone I had was very good.
