I changed my dad's care agency to Home Instead in January 2016 and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. From day 1 my dad was treated with respect and kindness. Meetings were arranged to sort out the hours needed and to see which carers would best suit my dad. As my 95-year-old dad had dementia, it was difficult but he was included in all meetings and his opinion was asked for. When the carers started they treated my dad with kindness and he soon regarded them as friends. They did all they could to make him feel happy and safe. As for myself, I was contacted immediately if they felt he needed medical help. As I lived quite a distance from my dad it was a comfort to me to know he was being well looked after and when I visited once a week it was immediately obvious that the carers were indeed caring people. Sadly my dad died at the end of November but I know during his last few months he felt happy, safe and knew his carers would come when they said they would.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed and lovely review of our service. I know from the CAREGivers and the rest of the team it was a privilege to support your father through last year and up to his sad passing in November. He will be remembered fondly.
No complaints at all. You couldn't provide a better service. The ladies are splendid.
Thank you for providing this review and I'm so pleased to hear that we couldn't do anything more to improve what we are doing! We never rest on our laurels so rest assured we will seek ways to ensure we always meet your needs.
My husband has been receiving support from Home Instead for about 18 months. During this time the carer has always shown patience and understanding, becoming a good companion whose visits are much appreciated bu us both. When I have had contact with the office staff they have all been very friendly and helpful.
Thank you for taking the time to review our service. We aim to select and provide an ideal, consistent CAREGiver with whom our clients can build a strong relationship and trust. It seems that is just your experience and it's also good to know you find the office team supportive and friendly. Thank you again.
Listened when initial carer match wasn't suitable. The replacement was excellent getting on with both my husband and myself. Not only was she an excellent carer but she took time to see that I was okay and help if she could. When my husbands needs increased she responded over and above what I would have expected. Her shadow was also kind, caring and gentle. The manager listened and helped too, explained lots of detail to me.
Thank you for taking the time to review our service and for your kind words. I am pleased to hear that our carers were there for you providing the holistic approach to care that means so much to us in Home Instead.
I was recommended to Home Instead by the manager of the independent supported living complex, where my mother lives and I am very grateful for the recommendation. Initially I wanted personal care twice a week and was concerned that I did not want a variety of people turning up and that it should be someone who would be able to treat my mother with dignity and build a relationship. We have got exactly that. Over the months she has required more care. The girls have been, without exception, lovely, caring people and my mother enjoys their visits and looks forward to them coming. The management staff are friendly and efficient and always keep me well informed. I would highly recommend them.
Thank you for taking the time to write this comprehensive review of our service. We have found that ensuring consistency of CAREGivers works so well in building relationships and trust with our clients. I'm also really pleased to hear that your mother looks forwards to her visits. I am sure the CAREGivers look forward to seeing her too!
Home Instead provide perfection.
Thank you for such a marvellous succinct review! We work hard to deliver a premium service and your comment is an indication that we are doing a lot of things right!
My ladies are marvellous and so very kind, they will do anything I ask. I have never known a service like this. It's just what we needed.
What a fantastic review! Thank you. The entire team aspire to provide a top quality service and I'm so pleased to hear that your CAREGivers are everything you want them to be.
Careful planning of the visiting time. Alternative arrangement always available if current conditions require an adjustment. The visiting carer is always careful and tolerant at all times. As time goes on more of a friend.
Thank you for taking the time to review our service and I am pleased to receive this positive feedback about our planning, flexibility and your relationship with our CAREGiver.
Have had Home Instead carers visiting Dad for the past year and cannot praise them highly enough. I just wish I had found them sooner. Reliable, dependable, friendly support from the carers and the office....I know Dad is in good hands. Thankyou.
Thank you for your wonderful review of our support for your dad. I am particularly glad you feel that your dad is in good hands - it's that peace of mind for loved ones that is so important to us. Thank you again.
Mum's carer is really great and always prepared to go the extra mile. Very satisfied with all aspects of Home Instead from carers to office staff to management. Would definitely recommend this home care company.
Thank you so much for your review of our service. Going the extra mile is what care is all about and we at Home Instead are delighted to be able to support your mum.
Home Instead have provided, for the last 2 years, truly excellent service in the form of companionship/care/outings for my wife who has early on set Alzheimer's.
The Monday afternoon sessions every week are a high point in my wife's week and something which leaves her with a good feeling every time . This is most definitely one of the best things we have done to ensure the quality of life for my wife. Home instead are reliable, never late, always a consistency of carer and I have real confidence in the care they provide. Their management team keep in touch and ensure the quality of care.
Are we fans of this company and their people? - Yes most definitely and cannot recommend them more highly.
In addition they organise a free memory café locally which provides companionship, fun and from which we made good friendships.
Dear John, thank you so much for taking the time to write such a comprehensive and complimentary review of our service. I know I speak for your wife's CAREGiver and the whole of the office team when I say it's an absolute pleasure and privilege to work together in supporting you and your wife. Thank you again John.
The carers we have are kind and considerate, always try their best. Mum loves seeing them and loves a little banter with them.
Thank you for your review and to hear that your mum loves seeing our CAREGivers. It is important to us that we build relationships with all our clients so the visits are a highlight in an older person's day.
Having a back problem which eventually resulted in difficulty in walking and shopping, it was very fortunate that I came across the leaflet for Home Instead Senior care. I find them extremely helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them, always sorting things out if, for example I have to change an appointment.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased you found us and I know your CAREGiver really enjoys visiting and taking you shopping. Thanks again.
All the staff are so resourceful, quite incredible. Proper hands-on approach, very friendly and caring and supportive. Couldn't manage without them.
Wow! Thank you so much for your words. All our clients are just so important to us and it is wonderful to hear how much you value our support. Thank you again for taking the time to write this review.
No problems at all, satisfaction in every aspects.
Dear Heather, thank you for your review of our service which is much appreciated. I know that you really value the companionship and support your CAREGiver brings and she too enjoys visiting you. Best wishes, Graeme
I have no hesitation in advising you that Home Instead Senior Care are an excellent company who look after their clients exceptionally well. All their staff are helpful and friendly and happy to do all that is necessary to assist their clients. They always arrive on time and do all they can to help people, whether it is on the medical side, domestic work or even assisting with the weekly shopping or hospital appointments etc, so relieving people of the worry of getting around if they no longer have transport of their own. As a result the staff quickly become your friend and you look forward to their visits.
Dear Margaret, thank you so much for taking the time to write such a comprehensive review of our service and for your lovely comments. It is wonderful to hear how much you appreciate the support of your CAREGiver who has now become a friend. Thank you again.
My caregiver is very good, she helps with everything I ask and next time she visits me we are going to have a singing lesson. I have nothing but praise for Home Instead.
I was so pleased to read your review Joan. Clearly you have a great relationship with your CAREGiver and good luck with the singing!
We have a carer that visits my mum weekly and we couldn't be happier to know that she is helping us keep an eye on how happy mum is and how she is being cared for. We think of our carer as a valuable friend of mum's and we love to read her notes each week. They are hugely perceptive of how things are progressing in mum's illness and very reassuring for us that our carer observes what we see.
Thank you for your review Jo and I am pleased to hear how happy you are with our CAREGiver who visits your mum. Our CAREGiving is all about creating valuable friendships that make a difference to clients and of course their families.
Home Instead is the best of all!
What a fabulous endorsement Irene. We surely try hard to be the best we possibly can. Thank you so much!
Never had any problems. Caregiver is very cheerful and gets on very well with mum. I like that I can read the activity log to see how the visits have gone. Very satisfied.
Thank you Anne. One of the reasons why we keep a regular journal of each CAREGiver visit is for this very purpose - family can understand how their loved one is being supported on each occasion. Pleased to hear how useful it is for you.

Meet the Team (17)
Mike & Greg (father and son) joined the Home Instead Southampton community in late 2019 and we look forward to continuing the 10-year legacy that has been created by the founding owners Luisa and Graeme.
With over 30 years of senior business management experience and a real desire to make a positive difference in our community, Mike is on a “spiritual” mission to deliver quality care to all of our Clients and to go above and beyond with support for our Care Professionals!
Having grandparents who always cared for the vulnerable in our society has certainly given Greg the caring genes! He has an innate passion for the care and support of the elderly and is ideally suited to Home Instead with his strong work ethic and business knowledge.
Laura joined us in 2012 and had 7 years as a Care Professional delivering quality Care to our Clients before being a Field Care Supervisor and now Operations Manager. Laura lives at Home Instead! Her broad knowledge and experience provide stability and peace of mind.
I joined Home Instead in April 2013 and was responsible for CAREGiver recruitment.
I have over 30 years of experience in recruitment and obtained my qualifications with the REC, of which I am a Fellow. I also have an NVQ 4 in Management and a Certificate in Personnel Practice.
Before joining Home Instead, I worked for 11 years within the Health and Social Care sector as a Registered Manager. During this time, I also managed a Specialist Nurses Division, recruiting Theatre Nurses, Prison Nurses, Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Health Nurses and Learning Disability Nurses.
My experiences working within the healthcare sector have definitely been the most fulfilling. I am passionate about helping older people retain their independence and dignity and remain safely in their own homes. Selecting the right people to join our family of CAREGivers keeps me extremely busy, but it is always interesting meeting new people and offering them the opportunity to join us and make a real difference to older people. I watch them grow in confidence and hear about the relationships they have with our clients, and it makes me really proud of my role, connecting people and making them feel good.
I also help out at the memory cafe we run every second and fourth Wednesday of the month. This makes a change to being in the office but also gives me a chance to meet people who are coping with dementia, and I try to brighten up their day if I can.
I get to meet and greet everyone who comes to our lovely office, so there is really never a dull moment in my working day. I share Home Instead's values and ethos, and I know that by being part of the team, we all work hard to make all the difference we can.
