I first made contact with Home Instead at the end of Aug 2018 with a view to putting morning care in place for my mother. It started in September and from day 1 they have been a pleasure to deal with. We are now over 3 mths into this arrangement and they have never let my mother down. When I've asked for additional help (e.g. hospital visits) they have gone out of their way to accommodate her requirements. Two ladies were nominated to supply care to my mother and both, as far as she is concerned have become 'friends'. She very much looks forward to their 'visits'! Care is never cheap and I'm sure Home Instead are not the cheapest in the area, but as with most things, you get what you pay for. From my perspective, my mother is getting value for money, not that she values the care she gets in monetary terms - from her perspective she now has 2 new 'friends' who are helping her with her daily needs. I can not praise or thank Home Instead enough. I am very happy to recommend them! 5* service!!
What a wonderful review and thank you so much for taking the time to provide such comprehensive and positive feedback on our service. We strive to be the best we can for each of our clients and it is so pleasing to hear that our CAREGivers are so highly valued, as is your mother. Thank you!
Carers are very punctual and reliable - never actually known them to be late, let alone not turn up! Know the routine, the client seems very comfortable with them, nice having the same carers.
What a wonderful review - thank you! This is the Home Instead way - punctuality, reliability and consistency of CAREGiver. It's about building trust and friendship. Thank you again.
Home Instead provides a companion to visit my brother who lives in a residential care home. My brother looks forward to and enjoys the visits from the companion. It helps to stimulate his conversation and also it means he has the undivided attention of someone for a few hours.
The Home Instead companion who visits my brother has got to know and understand him very well over the years. In fact, he knows my brother so well that, he is aware of when my brothers physical or mental well being is in decline. He passes on his observations to the Office Manager and she telephones me to let me know exactly what’s happening. Without Home Instead I wouldn’t know how my brother was. I live 140 miles away from my brother and there are no friends or family close enough to visit him.
Thank you very much for taking the time to write your review. Companionship and relationship is at the heart of all we do at Home Instead, to enhance the lives of our clients, so your comments are very much appreciated.
My carer takes me shopping and various errands. She is very helpful and will also occasionally help me with ordering medications and library renewals online. I look forward to her visits. She is always reliable and on time.
The carers take time in the morning so I can wake up at my own pace.
They treat me as an individual and I enjoy having conversations with them whilst they attend to my needs.
The managers in the office are very approachable and email/ring my daughter promptly if they have any concerns about me.
New staff accompany my usual carer prior to their first visit so I can get to know them first.
Thank you for such a wonderful review. This speaks of everything we are striving to achieve in Home Instead - providing high quality, person-centred care. We are so pleased you feel well cared for.
Home Instead Senior Care (Southampton) have been completely fantastic! I feel totally confident that the caregivers are kind and compassionate towards my father. They have built a really positive relationship with him and I know they are conscientious in their care for him. The communication systems we have in place for both carer to us, the family and the office are excellent.

The Carers were superb, matched to mother's personality and totally reliable. The office staff were very much part of the team. Any concerns about mother were quickly passed on to us.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review about our care for your mother. Our CAREGivers were indeed selected to match your mother's personality, a vital part of the service, which we find always works so well. I speak for the whole team, office and CAREGivers in saying that it was a real pleasure to care for your mother. Thank you.
A ready-made planner who will always have alternatives to the proposed next time visit, when from weather to domestic circumstances, change the visit.
Thank you for your review. The CAREGiver who supports your wife is an experienced and committed member of the team, who loves to plan ahead to ensure the Client receives a great experience when they go out.
I live 350 miles away from my elderly father in Southampton and have used Home Instead for almost 6 years. Initially for my mum, but for the last 4 and a half years as a companion carer for my dad. Home Instead have spent time in pairing the gentleman carer with my dad and he is excellent. Home Instead and the companion carer give excellent service. I can relax when I know dad is out with him having a safe and pleasant time. Home Instead are only at the end of a phone line for me. Excellent!!
What a fantastic review - thank you! We are so pleased to be able to bring you peace of mind and it is a delight to support your father.
Second to none service from people who really care.
What a lovely thing to say - thank you! Yes, we really do care and our clients are so important to us. As we say in Home Instead, "To us it's Personal". Thank you for taking the time to submit your review.
The management kept us fully informed whilst their local caregivers went the extra mile to ensure Mum's care was consistent.
Since her diagnosis, Mum has never been happier, comfy, cosy, clean and well fed and it's all down to the Home Instead wonderful staff.
They are not the cheapest agency but are one of the best.
Thank you so much for recognising the efforts of our fantastic CAREGiver team supporting your mother. The snowy conditions during the first few days of March certainly created some challenges but we were all determined to be there for our clients. Many walked to each client, some drove and others...

Meet the Team (17)
Mike & Greg (father and son) joined the Home Instead Southampton community in late 2019 and we look forward to continuing the 10-year legacy that has been created by the founding owners Luisa and Graeme.
With over 30 years of senior business management experience and a real desire to make a positive difference in our community, Mike is on a “spiritual” mission to deliver quality care to all of our Clients and to go above and beyond with support for our Care Professionals!
Having grandparents who always cared for the vulnerable in our society has certainly given Greg the caring genes! He has an innate passion for the care and support of the elderly and is ideally suited to Home Instead with his strong work ethic and business knowledge.
Laura joined us in 2012 and had 7 years as a Care Professional delivering quality Care to our Clients before being a Field Care Supervisor and now Operations Manager. Laura lives at Home Instead! Her broad knowledge and experience provide stability and peace of mind.
I joined Home Instead in April 2013 and was responsible for CAREGiver recruitment.
I have over 30 years of experience in recruitment and obtained my qualifications with the REC, of which I am a Fellow. I also have an NVQ 4 in Management and a Certificate in Personnel Practice.
Before joining Home Instead, I worked for 11 years within the Health and Social Care sector as a Registered Manager. During this time, I also managed a Specialist Nurses Division, recruiting Theatre Nurses, Prison Nurses, Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Health Nurses and Learning Disability Nurses.
My experiences working within the healthcare sector have definitely been the most fulfilling. I am passionate about helping older people retain their independence and dignity and remain safely in their own homes. Selecting the right people to join our family of CAREGivers keeps me extremely busy, but it is always interesting meeting new people and offering them the opportunity to join us and make a real difference to older people. I watch them grow in confidence and hear about the relationships they have with our clients, and it makes me really proud of my role, connecting people and making them feel good.
I also help out at the memory cafe we run every second and fourth Wednesday of the month. This makes a change to being in the office but also gives me a chance to meet people who are coping with dementia, and I try to brighten up their day if I can.
I get to meet and greet everyone who comes to our lovely office, so there is really never a dull moment in my working day. I share Home Instead's values and ethos, and I know that by being part of the team, we all work hard to make all the difference we can.
