On the administrative side, we are also very happy. It’s very easy working with the office team even though we are abroad. The communications are very clear and proactive when there have been problems we were quick to be informed and there are regular check-ins to make sure everything is going smoothly. We highly recommend Home Instead to anyone considering at home care.
The staff member and her team offered immediate and ongoing help, support and advice in an extremely difficult situation. My Folks have 3 visits a day which not only provide necessary care and stimulation for mum but respite for my Father in law. I cannot stress enough how impossible life would have been without them, and how lovely all the team are. They are 100% reliable, trustworthy and punctual. I would recommend their services totally.
Home Instead look after my grandmother and I am so pleased I selected them. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they are very professional and supportive looking after all my grandmother's needs. When they are not looking after her personal care they help around the house and even do bits of shopping for her when needed.
The service was quickly and efficiently set up and the care giver has the appropriate skills to suit needs. I really appreciate that the same care giver attends each time.
In July 2015 my mother had a fall and broke her hip and it was clear that she was going to require extra help. Home Instead were able to put care into place very quickly and so began our association with them. My mother always said she liked all her carers, they were all different but they were all lovely. Her carers provided valuable companionship and they got to know about my mother's family and she got to know about theirs. As my mother's health deteriorated and she became effectively housebound she relied on them more and more and always looked forward to them coming. Her carers gave her the care she needed with sensitivity and compassion. At the end, my mother required 24-hour care and everyone at Home Instead, from her everyday carers to the managers, rose to the challenge and put this care in place, allowing my mother, in these Covid times, to die in her own home surrounded by her family and the carers she knew so well. Home Instead became part of the family and we thank them.
I needed urgent care for my mother at home at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic after deciding at the last minute not to put my mum in a residential home. After phoning several other home care agencies and being told they had no availability, I was getting desperate as I was having to provide all my mother's care myself alongside a full-time job. I was so relieved when Home Instead said they were able to help immediately. I was contacted later the same day by the Area Supervisor and the following day she came to visit my mum. The Area Supervisor went out of her way to deliver the care contract to me at home and responded very quickly to e-mails, phone calls and text messages. Only 4 days after first contacting Home Instead, there were carers going to my mum at home twice a day. I am very grateful for the understanding and rapid service provided by Home Instead and particularly the Area Supervisor who dealt with my mum's case.
Thank you for your help and support to the whole family.
All of my mother's carers are consistently kind, attentive and proactive in anticipating needs and problem-solving. They are an immense reassurance to me who lives at a considerable distance in these difficult times. I cannot thank you all enough
My mum has been a client of Home Instead for 4 years and during that time they have provided consistently excellent care and support for my mum and for me. Each of the carers is genuinely concerned about mum's welfare and have continued to demonstrate this, particularly during the past challenging 12 months.
Over the years my mother has had a range of carers and they have all been very good or excellent. Throughout the period she has had a number of carers I have been impressed that there has been a focus in terms of continuity of care so that my mother got to know her carers well and likewise they got to know her and her ways. They recognised where additional help was needed and made recommendations for aids to help her stay in her home. The apps that they use meant it was easy for me to see who was due to come and any issues they had identified.
The Home Instead management have been very helpful and responsive, particularly in the last few months where we were coping with a rapidly changing situation.
I would definitely recommend them, in fact, a relative is now using them albeit from a different branch.
Home Instead came into our lives in January 2020 when our Mum had been unwell and her Alzheimer’s was progressing. As a family, we were struggling to meet her needs. Mum needed more support in terms of ensuring she was eating, drinking and taking her medication as well as keeping her company, going for a walk with her and keeping her home tidy. Home Instead gave us lots of information about how things could work and supported us in making the best decisions for Mum. The Caregivers were carefully selected to meet Mum's requirements and what a fantastic job they did. They persevered whilst Mum came to terms with having regular visits. Very soon they became Mum's “special friends”. They were professional, hardworking, kind, sensitive and caring. They had to adapt to Mums changes in mood, behaviour and needs which they did wonderfully. Home Instead ensured that our Mum spent a precious 9 months extra at home.
The managers, supervisors and carers have been amazing especially during the Covid pandemic. The carers are really dedicated to giving mum the best possible care, always making sure she has everything she needs and going out of their way to get shopping and track down lost keys etc. While family cannot visit, they have sorted out all the problems we can't deal with, such as the TV and hoover not working. Mum loves the company and conversation and is reassured knowing that her carers will help her with all the things she can't manage. The manager also found extra carers at short notice which has been a huge relief for the family. All the managers and supervisors respond quickly and in a very caring way whenever I phone and are brilliant at contacting the family straight away with any concerns about mum. I really feel that mum matters to them which is so important and makes Home Instead stand out above other agencies.
So grateful to the team at Home Instead for their continued care and support of my mum who has dementia. Especially through this difficult time, when they must be worried about their own and their family's health. Thank you.
My husband is so comfortable with carers - perfect!
Home Instead have cared for my mum for two years. Both management and caregivers have provided excellent care and support to Mum and have also been there for her family and because of this enabled Mum to stay in the safety of her own home. Thank you, caregivers, or as my mum called them, 'her girls' and also to everyone who has been part of the support system. We couldn't recommend Home Instead enough.
My carer is reliable, thorough and good fun.
Couldn't do without them!
My dad is very fond of her; I am extremely happy and relieved now we have found Home Instead.
I contacted the Chertsey office of Home Instead in August this year, and they were extremely helpful and understanding. They introduced a caregiver to Dad, and he has now built a strong trusting relationship with her, and he tells me he looks forward to her visits.
The care he has received from his caregiver and the support we have all had from other members of the team has always been compassionate, responsive, kind and respectful.
I live over 200 miles away from him, and I now feel reassured that he has the regular help he needs, and I can trust that I will be contacted if staff have any concerns about him.
I would recommend the team without hesitation.
Carers are friendly, helpful and efficient.

Meet the Team (7)
Setting up my own business has been part of a truly life-changing period of my life. In 2010 I received the devastating news that I had secondary cancer. Since then life has been a whirlwind of treatment (all successful thank goodness) and making major changes to ensure that I live the life I want to in the future. It may sound strange but the experience I have been through has genuinely changed my life for the better. The people that I have met in the care sector have been amazing and have inspired me to do something worthwhile and meaningful, to dedicate myself to helping others.
I have left behind my job as an executive of a company that took me to America and across Europe for a role which is much more important to me, one where I can use my knowledge and business experience to do what really matters in life, which is ensuring good quality care is available for people when they need it.
My role is to provide leadership and direction to the team to ensure we focus on our values. I spend time developing the team, planning for the future and maintaining our relationships in the Windsor and Chertsey community. If you need good dementia or at-home care for yourself or for a loved one, please contact us to discuss how we can help.
I currently live in Wraysbury (and have done so on and off since 1977) with my 86 year-old mum. I moved back home full time in 2014 after the sudden and unexpected death of my dad – everyone says, “oh, it’s lovely that you look after your mum” but it’s actually the other way round; mum still looks after me – I get a cup of tea at 6.45 am and the offer of porridge if I would like it, plus evening meals and a magic washing basket!
I was a Metropolitan Police Officer for 21 years, followed by 14 years as manager of a Bureau De Change business in Central London and then 6 years as a Security Courier for a Foreign Exchange Wholesaler in Victoria. I am also a qualified Toastmaster (Red Tailcoat) officiating at Weddings, Civic Functions and large events.
So how did I become a CAREGiver? – As a result of the first lockdown in March 2020, all my business opportunities dried up. After spending three months working in the garden and house, I started to look around for a nice part-time job. I saw the advert for Home Instead Windsor and thought, “I can do that!” so I applied. I was successful with my application and joined in June 2020. I absolutely loved meeting my new clients and with the help and encouragement of my fellow CAREGivers and Supervisors, I quickly settled into the role. My part-time job rapidly became full time and I have really enjoyed learning about all aspects of personal care and in particular challenging behaviour and dementia.
Towards the end of November last year, I applied for the role of Area Supervisor, and much to my surprise, I was accepted. I am working hard to learn the necessary skills to support my clients and CAREGivers – being a “Techno-Dinosaur” doesn’t help but you will always see me with a smile on my face.
I am responsible for supporting my wonderful team of Care Professionals to meet the evolving needs of our existing clients' tailored support plans, as well as meeting with new clients and their family members to make sure we are there to reassure them and give peace of mind that we will find a way to meet their needs.
My role is to ensure our lovely clients get the care they need at the time they would like it and all of the communication touch points and administration around it.
I am responsible for overall office organisation. This includes answering all telephone queries, greeting visitors and managing who is where!
I am delighted to have joined the Home Instead team in the role of Finance Assistant. I will be dealing with all client invoicing and Care Pro payroll.
In 2013, I decided I needed a career change. Day in day out my job was always the same, so after careful consideration and discussions with my husband, I left to seek something more rewarding. It didn’t take me long. I saw an advertisement to become a CAREGiver with Home Instead Windsor, applied and never looked back.
My day to day routine is never the same, but every day I smile. Whether it be with my wonderful clients who I visit on a regular basis or one of the girls I work with within the office. I have the best of both worlds.
My clients are special to me and I hope they get as much pleasure with me visiting them, as they give to me. We laugh, we sing, we sometimes cry but every day is rewarding, and I leave with the knowledge that today, I made a difference in someone’s life, albeit a small difference.
Equally, my work in the office making our wonderful CAREGivers compliant is very rewarding. We have mad days and glad days, but we get through them together as a team and we smile.
For me there is no other job, I just wish I had changed careers 30 years ago.
