We have been using Home Instead since 2016 and I have nothing other than praise for the service that has been supplied from the first day. We started with care for both my parents but are now down to care just for Mum as Dad has had to go into a Dementia Care Home full time. Late 2017 was a very difficult time with Dad due to his illness and Home Instead were a constant support throughout the whole experience. They supplied extra care at very short notice as Dad got worse and his needs increased.

The support is from the individual carers, through to office support staff and management, at every level they are very professional, knowledgeable, kind and caring of my parents and us as a whole family.

Mum is now supported by 3 main carers throughout the week and she loves all of them and cannot praise them enough.

Home Instead have made the difficult journey of my parents needing care so much better than it could have been.

Having one main carer provides great comfort and stability for my elderly mother who can become confused with too many changes.
Our carer is a friend and companion as well as providing practical care. She understands my mother's needs.

Home Instead have been a vital component in allowing my father, who is suffering with Alzheimer's, to realise his wish to live in the comfort of his own home rather than being confined to a nursing home. His team are communicative, helpful and supportive, keeping my brother and I "in the loop" at all times. It's really important to know if dad's having an off day or he's anxious about anything and his small group of carers communicate directly with us so as to minimise any unnecessary worry for him. I would have no hesitation in highly recommending Home Instead Egham to anyone.

My mother was diagnosed with early Alzheimer's just over a year ago. She is nearly 90 and lives on her own. We initially organised companion visits for Mum and have been delighted with her response. She says that she enjoys the visits which is a great relief. We have also been impressed with our caregiver's professional and friendly approach. Additionally, being trained to deal with dementia means that our caregiver knows how and when help is needed and how to help in a sensitive manner.

Mum has been receiving care from Home Instead for nearly 10 years, initially in Wales and then in Berkshire. The care really has been excellent in all cases and has enabled Mum to continue to live in her own home, which she would not have been able to do otherwise. They have all been dedicated to their work, and have genuinely cared about Mums well being and have definitely gone the extra mile! All have been well trained and professional, and have treated Mum with respect as well as cheering her up! The carers have a difficult job as the clients don't always appreciate all that is being done for them, so I have the utmost respect for them. We are very grateful for Home Instead's work and wish the organisation every future success.

The carers assisting my elderly friend with Dementia have shown sensitivity to her needs. I have seen first hand their friendliness and understanding. They treat her with dignity and are reassuring and supportive.
My friend enjoys the companionship and help she receives daily. Management are quick to report any medical concerns to ensure she is well cared for. It's reassuring to know she is in good hands and that the team is dedicated to the welfare of their client.
The log book is always completed and communication is maintained so all can work together as a team.

I think Home Instead Senior Care provides a very good service. I have peace of mind knowing that my mum is very well cared for. Any issues and concerns are addressed quickly and with sensitivity. The structure of the agency enables staff to perform to a good standard of care. My mum at nearly 92 is able to stay comfortably in her own home due to the standard of care. Thank you to all the carers and staff in the office.

Home Instead have provided an excellent care package for my 94-year-old mother.
The caregivers are patient, caring and genuine people who really care and provide companionship, and nothing is too much trouble for them.
There is an excellent system of communication in place between the caregiver/the office and the clients family. I am welcomed reading the daily log regarding my mother's care.
The members of staff at the office have always strived to provide the level of care that we requested, and this was much appreciated.
They have also been extremely supportive to the family, whilst my mother was in hospital, and then moved on to a care home.
I would have no hesitation in recommending the company and all of its staff to anyone looking for genuine care and companionship.

Many thanks.

The team of carers both in my parents home and if I contact the office are always polite, helpful and informative.

The standard of care given to my father is without fault and given with kindness and empathy. The team seem knowledgeable with his multiple pathologies and are extremely patient and supportive with my mother who is not the easiest character.

The team communicate effectively with each other from visit to visit so that they are all aware of any difficulties or changes in my father or my mother. They also communicate effectively with me so I get a clear picture and can do an emergency dash from Wales if necessary.

As a former nurse and nurse lecturer, I could not be more satisfied with the care given to both my parents and I am totally reassured that they are in very safe and competent hands. I would recommend this team of carers and their organisation to anyone, I cannot speak of them highly enough.

I would like to say how satisfied I am with Home Instead Senior Care. My mum became unable to get out of bed and dress herself within a matter of a week or so and luckily I contacted Home Instead and they went out of their way to support me and get carers in place to care for mum as quickly as possible. All the carers are so friendly, helpful and good at what they do and the office staff are great too and always help me if I need additional care or extra hours covered. It has been a great relief having their support at such a difficult time.

Using Home Instead to support our Mum has made such a huge difference to us all. All of the carers are so kind and caring and make a huge difference to Mum's day. She always looks forward to seeing them and enjoys their company as well as the care and home help that they give. It means that we can relax knowing that she has help at the start of the day to get herself ready and the end of the day to settle for the evening. We would be absolutely lost without them and I would recommend them to anyone with a family member who needs support to remain independent and in the comfort of their own home. They are all absolutely fantastic!

My parents are frail, very elderly and have Alzheimer's which demands skill and patience from experienced carers. The agency endeavour to provide continuity for my rather 'difficult' parents for which I am very grateful. A high turnover of staff can be a problem.

Job Title: Managing Director

Description:

Setting up my own business has been part of a truly life changing period of my life. In 2010 I received the devastating news that I had secondary cancer. Since then life has been a whirlwind of treatment (all successful thank goodness) and making major changes to ensure that I live the life I want to in the future. It may sound strange but the experience I have been through has genuinely changed my life for the better. The people that I have met in the care sector have been amazing and have inspired me to do something worthwhile and meaningful, to dedicate myself to helping others.

I have left behind my job as an executive of a company which took me to America and across Europe for a role which is much more important to me, one where I can use my knowledge and business experience to do what really matters in life, which is ensuring good quality care is available for people when they need it.

If you need good care for yourself or for a loved one, please contact us to discuss how we can help.

Job Title: Registered Care Manager

Description:

I have always worked in the caring profession and started by working in care and nursing homes as a teenager. I gained a diploma in Nursing from The Royal University of Surrey. I have worked in elderly care, medical and vascular surgery. I stopped nursing to have a family and have also lived abroad for a number of years. The opportunity arose to join Home Instead and I feel it has given me a chance to use the knowledge and skills that I have gained, not just from my nursing but from my own life experiences. Home Instead is very different from other care organisations, they really do concern themselves not only with the quality of care given but also with making a difference, for example the office staff work tirelessly to see that the clients are happy with their CAREGiver and will endeavour to find them the perfect match.

Quality is of utmost importance and my role is to ensure that standards and quality of care are maintained at all times. I am delighted to be part of a team where people really matter as that is what care is all about.

Description:

Having been a stay at home mum raising four children, I decided it was time for a change for me and do something different.

Still keeping within my comfort zone of caring I decided to become a CAREGiver for Home Instead Senior Care. How pleased I was to make the change! I have now been working for Home Instead since
May 2014 and have enjoyed every minute.

My clients have been a joy to work with and it gives me so much pleasure knowing that I have made a difference to someone’s day and made them smile.

I am now working as part of office team as the Care Coordinator. This can be quite stressful at times but I am so lucky to have been given this opportunity. I still give care daily as I would not want to lose my clients but having been a CAREGiver and knowing all there is about the difficulties that can arise I have been able to understand and help more efficiently and with empathy in this new role.

Joining Home Instead has helped me find not only myself but a confidence I never knew I had.

Thank you Home Instead and to the team that has supported me.

Job Title: Compliance Admin

Description:

5 years ago, I decided I needed a career change. Day in day out my job was always the same, so after careful consideration and discussions with my husband, I left to seek something more rewarding. It didn’t take me long. I saw an advertisement to become a Caregiver with Home Instead Senior Care, applied and never looked back.

My day to day routine is never the same, but every day I smile. Whether it be with my wonderful clients who I visit on a regular basis or one of the girls I work with in the office. I have the best of both worlds.

My clients are special to me and I hope they get as much pleasure with me visiting them, as they give to me. We laugh, we sing, we sometimes cry but every day is rewarding, and I leave with the knowledge that today, I made a difference in someone’s life, albeit a small difference.

Equally my work in the office making our wonderful CAREGivers compliant is very rewarding. We have mad days and glad days, but we get through them together as a team and we smile.

For me there is no other job, I just wish I had changed careers 30 years ago.

I joined Home Instead in 2012 because I had heard good reviews about it. Due to the company’s good reputation, I had great expectations about the level of care the company provided.
I’m happy to say I was not disappointed. As a CAREGiver, it is great to be able to meet new people. My clients and I have the same personality, which helps us to get along really well. Going from CAREGiver to Team Leader is a challenge, but it’s incredibly rewarding. It has helped me to learn new things about the care industry and to gain more experience. However, not being with my clients as often as I used to is not easy. At Home Instead, we create a connection with them.
Home Instead really is about good care, and it’s a pleasure to have such a fulfilling role in this industry.

Description:

I joined Home Instead in September 2016 because I had always been interested in care. I had some experience of giving care for some neighbours, so I thought this would be a great opportunity to use my experience and passion to improve people’s lives.

Home Instead was exactly was I hoping for. Here I have the chance to meet new people, give high quality care and really make a difference. I love hearing my clients’ stories, especially about their family.

I am so pleased to have just been promoted to Weekend Supervisor, I have the chance to go out and meet new clients that I haven’t met before, it is so interesting to meet their families and also work alongside new CAREGivers. Meeting new people is definitely one of the things enjoy the most in my new role.

Home Instead is a great place to work. On the one hand, it allows us to go move out of our comfort zone and do new things. The best part about working here is, however, to make sure that all our clients and CAREGivers are being well looked after and supported. The safety of our clients is the most important thing for us, and we are really proud to be able to say that we meet our clients’ needs. As a result of this high quality, Home Instead is growing and this is why we have more CAREGivers and new roles. It’s great to be part of a growing company and a supportive team that do everything to make sure our clients and CAREGivers are always safe and happy.
