Home Instead (Chichester & Bognor Regis)

We started using Home Instead Chichester for my parents' increasing needs in August 2018. M father suffers from Parkinson's Disease and my mother has Dementia. Both were struggling to cope and, after initial reluctance, were persuaded to accept assistance from Home Instead. As a family, we all have nothing but praise for the attention and care that the company and all the carers have provided over the past few months. Both my parents looked forward to their visits and developed friendships with many of them. It was a relief to my brothers and myself to know that they were being looked after so well. We have now moved on to live-in care with the guidance and advice of Home Instead and their help with this has been invaluable. We would definitely recommend them as a company and will not hesitate to contact them again when we need their help with respite breaks for the live-in carer.

After six months with this agency, I can honestly say they have provided a complete service, reliable and very personable. As the family are not 'round the corner', we are comfortable leaving the team to provide the necessary first class care for my parents.

Without exception, your team offers the kind of love and care you would give your loved one yourself. I can’t thank everyone enough for all they did for my father, he appreciated it immensely, as did I.

When I first came to the UK I was anxious and I didn't have any idea how to adapt to England. Also, I have a physical disability which makes me a necessity for good service and good caring. Having suffered a stroke, I engaged Home Instead as carers for my father when he came to live with us. They provided great help in those early days, the service was always professional, caring and reliable. Dad liked the male carer, who was also able to take Dad out and about to various locations, and he was available when we needed him so the relationship grew. My mother's carer is very helpful, friendly and reliable. She has made a huge difference to my mother's day to day living. My mother needs little personal care at the current time but knowing someone is coming on a regular basis and having company is wonderful for her and for myself.

I was apprehensive at first when the owner said they only do visits of 1 hour minimum but it has worked perfectly. The carers are a large part of Mums life and they certainly brighten her day.

My mother was introduced to Home Instead carers when it became apparent that she needed regular and reliable care at home.

She currently has carers visiting her three times a day. She wakes up to the cheery smile of a carer who lets herself into the flat around 8.00am. All her early morning needs are attended to and she is set up nicely for the day ahead.

Mum is visited again at lunchtime when she gets help with her lunch and any other needs.

She gets a final visit around 8.30pm when a carer helps get her ready for bed and says a comforting goodnight before seeing herself out.

As her son, I have total admiration, respect and thanks for all the help that Home Instead carers provide.

Everything is done with compassion, feeling and friendship. Help is relevant and practical while at the same caring, thoughtful and genuinely friendly.

I personally can't praise this company enough for all the help that has been offered. Nothing seems to be too much trouble and everybody seems to be so ready to accommodate any situation. I love the fact that any care package you have in place can be altered very easily to suit the changing needs of elderly clients. The home help that was found for my mum, who has dementia, has been invaluable to both her and my Dad. They treat her as part of the family and she always seems to know how to handle any situation. She just gets stuck in and my mum adores her. Home Instead have been a great support to us all at this difficult time and are always there on the end of the phone for advice and help.

Very happy with the service received for my elderly client. I was appointed her court deputy as she had no family, the local authority had placed her in a care home and diagnosed dementia but she was adamant she wanted to go back home. I chose Home Instead Chichester because of their promise to match carers to the client and I couldn't be more pleased. Our lovely client returned back home after three months in care and has accepted the carers into her home without any difficulty, she now says she wouldn't be without them. To think she could have stayed unhappy in the care home for the rest of her days is so sad. Home Instead Chichester - (all the team but especially the manager) have gone above and beyond to ensure she is safe, settled and happy. Totally recommended.

When I require extra hours of care for my wife, every effort is made to arrange for our usual carer to attend. This reduces any stress on my wife as she does not have to get acquainted with a new carer.

My 88-year old aunt has dementia and lives at home alone, with her little dog. She was adamant she didn't want services involved. Home Instead (HI) have been really great at offering a personalised, friendly service which my aunt has started to warm too. Their carer has been patient and tolerant, allowing my aunt to speak her mind and respecting that there are days when she will be turned away but that these allow her to still have control of her life. As dementia goes, she is often pleased to see her on the next visit! The carers dog visits too so they all walk together and when invited in for coffee, play in the garden which my aunt loves. HI have been open to discussing with us a way of progressing their visits and their relationship with my aunt. Fish and chips Friday has been introduced with mixed reception but never the less eaten and some garden planting is being planned for when she is receptive to this. Staff are always friendly and helpful when I call and regular updates are emailed.

I am a private client lawyer, acting as attorney and Deputies for my clients who are predominately elderly and vulnerable. I have found it extremely difficult to find a care provider that 'cares' for my clients in the same ways as I do, with respect, dignity, friendliness and professionalism.

Home Instead are a breath of fresh air to the care profession!!!
