Home Instead Shoreham, Petts Wood & Longfield (North West Kent) supports older people to stay independent in their own homes.

The care staff (CAREGivers) believe in giving the elderly the most personalised, highest quality care that they deserve. Carers offer companionship, home help services and personal care support with daily living routines.

A premium service is offered, with a minimum of one hour calls to ensure that carers not only support the essential needs of the client but get to build relationships based on trust. Carers are matched with clients through their personalities, interests and approach. Consistency of care is one of the most important parts of the service for clients so they ensure the same carers visit each client which provides consistent and high standards of care. As clients and carers build relationships the bond grows.

This ensures longstanding relationships, and allows clients to really feel as though they are spending time with their own family or friends. All CAREGivers are fully trained and DBS checked, with an additional specialist service in dementia care.

I have regular carers coming in seven days a week, three times a day. They enable me to stay in my own home and have my independence. Nothing is ever too much for them. They are really good to me and look after me really well. They have enabled me to go out on visits and are always there for me. They
are all lovely women and are now my friends.

Home Instead provided care for my Mum on a daily basis during a difficult time. At short notice, they did everything possible to help us out and provide a carer for Mum. They were extremely professional at all times and communicated well with the family. Most importantly, they were fantastic with Mum.
I can't recommend them highly enough.

My mother suffers from early-stage Alzheimer's Disease and both my sister and I (her only kids) live overseas. I live in Ireland and my sister lives in Australia. My mother no longer travels. I visit about once a month, but keeping Mum comfortable, safe and supported was becoming more and more difficult.
About 6 months ago we contacted Home Instead Shoreham. I must say, I cannot praise them enough. Right from the outset, we were treated with the utmost professionalism, kindness and understanding. The process of establishing care for Mum was not straightforward, as Mum was, at first, quite resistant. However, it is testimony to the patience and experience of the team at Home Instead Shoreham that we were able to get through even this issue, so smoothly. Mum would now not be without her carer and sees her as a valued friend. Mum even thanks me now for "finding" her carer for her! It is such a relief to my sister and I. I cannot recommend the team at Home Instead Shoreham highly enough!

After a shoulder injury, my 92-year-old father needed help at home with dressing and general care. We were at first reticent about having to employ carers, as was my father but we needn't have worried.
Home Instead have become like family, my father looks forward to their regular visits and as relatives,
Home Instead has given us complete peace of mind.
The managers are amazing. They are so kind and helpful and strive to ensure that Dad is safe and happy. Nothing is too much trouble and they have never let us down.
We love that there is little turnover of carers which provides continuity of care. It also speaks volumes for the company who obviously train and support their carers well. All the carers my father has had are well matched and the care they give is second to none. Treating him with respect and dignity.
Thank you Home Instead! You are a compassionate company with the highest of standards. Thank you for enabling our dad to live in the place he loves the most, his home!

The carers are very courteous, considerate, reliable and exercise their duties and services to a very high professional standard. They have given us peace of mind whilst my mother was in their care they have also raised any concerns they felt necessary to the wellbeing, safety and health of my mother.

Very impressed with the professionalism, extreme kindness, care and courtesy shown to my friend. Every detail was covered in keeping her safe. They have shown respect and allowed my friend to retain her dignity in her cruel illness.

I have been a caregiver since my early teens, and in 2015, I found my true calling when I joined the Home Instead family. From the moment I came across Home Instead, I knew it was the right place for me. Every single person I have met within the organisation carries a deep passion for changing the lives of the elderly, and I wanted nothing more than to be a part of that mission in every possible way.


Growing up in a large multicultural family, I was taught from an early age to respect and care for elders—values I now strive to instil in my own children. Having witnessed firsthand the challenges within the care sector through my grandmother’s experience, I am grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in Shoreham and the surrounding towns and villages. Helping to provide compassionate, high-quality care is not just my profession - it is my purpose.
