My wife has dementia, and all the carers have been excellent in helping in so many ways. I just don’t know how I could cope without their companionship and assistance in looking after my wife. They give assistance to my wife when showering and dressing. Making copious cups of coffee and making meals when required.
We are very happy to hear that you and your wife are pleased with the support. The team really enjoyed spending time with your wife; thank you for taking the time to send us a review.
Great communication. Regular calls and contacts to keep me informed.
Hi Heather, we are glad to be able to support your mum at this stage in her journey. Continuity and familiarity are so important, and we're pleased to hear this is working well.
The carers come in twice a day to visit my aunt. In the morning, they make sure that she is up and dressed and has her breakfast and medication. They give her the help she needs but allow her to do as much as she can for herself. This is much appreciated.
In the evening, they make sure that her hot water bottles are in and that she again has her medication. They spend an hour with her each time and are happy to sit and chat if that is what she wants.
They also come in for an hour two afternoons a week for companionship. They take her for a wee walk or do exercises with her, again if that is what she wishes.
They also cover any additional afternoons if family are not able to visit.
The service is caring without being too intrusive.
Thanks, Shiona; we really appreciate your positive feedback. We know how important it is to promote independence, and we are pleased that your mum finds the support helpful and enjoyable.
We have been engaging with Home Instead Renfrewshire since December 2022. They provide a tuck-in service to support Mum in the evening. This has been invaluable and reassuring for all. The office management has worked to ensure continuity of care is in place, which as a family, we feel is extremely important for the well-being of our mum. This continuity has allowed Mum to feel safe and has facilitated building meaningful relationships with the carers for Mum and Dad. The carers are clearly well-trained and enjoy their role. They are kind, attentive and very supportive and ensure personal care is at Mum’s pace, which has worked so well. Our experience with Home Instead has been excellent and has allowed Mum to be happy and well in her own home. Our grateful thanks to everyone at Home Instead.
Thanks for this review - we know it took a little time to get the right mix, and we worked with your parents to get things settled. We appreciate their feedback and your patience. Thanks for the opportunity to help.
Since we started with Home Instead (Renfrewshire & Barrhead), it has become like part of the family, and my wife is very relaxed with each visitor.
We enjoy visiting and helping your wife around the house. Thanks for taking the time to post such a positive review.
The service has been excellent, and both my mum and dad think it’s a great service. With a flexible, caring and professional service. We intend to continue to use the service as my parents require more help which is a testimony as to how good the care has been.
Thanks for taking the time to write a review. We are delighted to provide support to your parents and assist them around the house.
They are not only our carers, but in our opinion, also our friends whom we greatly value and would like to take this opportunity to thank so much.
God bless “Home Instead” and all who are part of it.
Thanks, Anne; you have a small team of dedicated people who are fully committed to providing you with the best possible support. It's a pleasure working with you both. Thanks for your review.
I was very happy with the Home Instead team who provided care for my 93 year old mother. I was pleased that their care helped her to stay in her own home and also gave me peace of mind. I was particularly impressed that the care provided was kind and thoughtful and there was never a feeling that someone was just doing a job. Mum was treated with dignity and respect and a desire to help find ways to improve the difficulties she was dealing with. I found that the office staff were pleasant and helpful and were responsive to any requests. I have no hesitation in highly recommending Home Instead.
Thanks for taking the time to write this review. We were happy to be involved with your mum's care. We wish her all the best in her new home.
Home Instead started looking after Dad in October 2020 during the pandemic. From the outset, they were dependable and flexible. My brother and I both live abroad and we were able to set up FaceTime meetings with the owner and the future carers, in order to feel reassured we knew who would be taking care of Dad. The app has allowed us to see, on a daily basis, what is going on at Dad's house. The carers have treated Dad like a member of their family and have always been very receptive to our feedback and quick to implement any changes to his schedule and routine, even going as far as to up the care to overnight stays in times of emergency. We cannot thank the manager and his team enough for the absolutely fantastic care. All good things, however, come to an end, and it is time for Dad (88) to move into a care home. Although we know he will be well taken care of there, we can certainly say that Home Instead have set the bar very high.
Thanks for taking the time to respond, and describe the evolution of the support for your dad. We have felt privileged to spend time with him, and feel part of that extended family. We have also learned a lot about how things develop over time, which has been a valuable experience for us all. We wish you all the best.
I cannot thank this organisation enough for all the help and assistance provided to my elderly Mother. All the family are very appreciative of the carers who have been kind, respectful and friendly, always reliable and trustworthy. The care provided was of the highest standard, helpful, cheerful and any problems were sorted at short notice. As a family, we would not have managed without them and I will highlight praises whenever I can. Keep up the excellent work.
Thanks for taking the time to provide this feedback. The team wil lbe delighted to hear your review, and we were happy to help your mum, while she was at home.
My sister and I were so grateful to the staff at Home Instead who looked after our 93 year old mother. From our first contact with Home Instead, we were impressed by the professionalism, helpfulness kindness and compassion shown by all the staff. Our mother who has Alzheimer's in addition to eating and mobility issues was treated with dignity by dedicated, well trained caregivers who helped her get out of bed, toileted, bathed or showered her. She was always told what they were going to do and was asked for her permission before it was done. We would highly recommend this company to anyone.
Thanks for your kind words. The team were happy to help and we were delighted you asked us to get involved.
The carers who visit my Aunt are very friendly and have a great rapport with her. They are great at providing feedback. As family living quote far away it is a comfort to us and re-assuring to see and hear the care that is provided.
Thanks for taking the time to respond, your aunt's team really enjoys spending time with her. I'm glad that you are receiving helpful updates around her wellbeing, the app helps with that communication.
Small number of carers attend so my mum has got to know them all. Arrive on time, stay for full time. They balance tasks to be done with providing company. Quick to report any issues. The management are supportive and regularly check that all is well with the service.
It's lovely to receive this type of feedback, we are delighted that our team are meeting your expectations. They also love visiting your mum and enjoying the view down the Clyde from her front door. Thanks for taking the time to provide a review.
Caring home support to the client and the family. Nothing too much bother to the carers. They were involved for about 4 months and were always there for us during that time. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
Thanks for your supportive review. Our team enjoyed spending time with your husband, and are delighted that you would recommend us to others. Thank you.
All carers with Home Instead have been kind and caring towards my mother in law. They have provided an excellent service for her and often gone above and beyond to reassure her at times when she was anxious and worried. We had complete trust in them and they were very attuned to the things she enjoyed, chatting about her family, having a little sing-song. I have only praise for the carers and the entire team. I would happily recommend this company to anyone looking for quality care.
Thank you for this review. We know that trust is earned, and you invested time to help us understand the best approaches to use. We felt a strong sense of cooperation within the family to make things work. Our team enjoy visiting her.
I’m very grateful for the care which my mum receives. Her carer is kind, conscientious and shows real concern for my mum‘s well-being. She goes the extra mile and is the key factor in our staying with home care.
Thanks for taking the time to write this review; it makes a real difference to the whole team to receive positive feedback. Our care professional who routinely visits your mum will be especially pleased.
The care worker, who attends is brilliant. Could not meet a nicer or kinder lady. This service has been a massive help and has made sure that my Gran does not need to go into a care home after my Papa died.
We have been glad to help and it's good to see your Gran improving and getting back to full health. Thanks very much for the review.
Our family are very happy with the companion service provided. Excellent and attentive staff who are flexible on attending to our mum's needs on their regular visits. Particularly helpful was arranging a video call to mum when family were abroad.
Thank you for such a positive review. We know that every client has their own particular set of needs, and our team enjoy helping and spending useful time with your mum.
We have used Home Instead for almost a year to supplement Dads care plan. We are extremely happy with the level of service provided and would not hesitate to recommend this team to anyone looking for this service. Nothing is too much trouble for them - it is mostly the same couple of care providers that visit Dad and that makes a huge difference as familiarity helps Dad to cope with the fact that there are different people in his house every day. They are kind, understanding and are more than willing to listen to our concerns and acknowledge Dads needs. Overall very happy with the service.
Your dad and wider family are always very supportive, and appreciative of the support we provide, which makes this a very positive experience for everyone involved. Thanks for taking the time to provide such a lovely review.
Home Instead have been coming every day to care for my father for the past six months, and weekly for six months before that. He has several carers who are all kind and responsible. As I don't live nearby, I often rely on Home Instead carers to take Dad to medical appointments etc. and they have been wonderful. His house is well looked after, and they check that he's eating and taking care of himself. Dad sees them as part of his personal landscape and is entirely comfortable with them. I appreciate that app that lets me see, pretty much in real time, what the carer is doing and how he/she found my Dad. It's a reassurance when I'm a work and can't call.
Our team enjoy visiting your father, and we're glad we've been able to help with his local appointments - it's a pleasure to spend time with him. Thanks for taking the time to provide this feedback.
