Everything about the care provided by Right at Home put my mum’s interests first. Where my mum’s horizons had narrowed, the manager looked to expand them. There was a perfect balance of professionalism, care and compassion along with plenty of humour and a real effort to build a rapport. Support was also shown to the rest of the family. It felt like we were all working together to do the best for my mum.
Right at Home were brilliant at putting Mum first. Before we discussed care needs, the manager wanted to know about Mum as a person. We all appreciated this focus on the individual, rather than generic care.

My 96-year-old mother was not convinced that she needed someone to look in on her whilst we were away as she is a very independent person. However, she very much enjoyed the conversations with the two ladies who called in on her daily and found them very helpful and attentive. Both of them were very willing to help her with any tasks that were difficult with her balance issues and nothing seemed too much trouble. We chose this company because they had been properly vetted and it gave me peace of mind to know that reliable and responsible carers were looking in on my mum whilst we were away. The charge for the hour was money well spent and I would not hesitate to recommend them.

A manager visited my mother in the nursing home to assess her condition and needs. The assessment was sympathetic but thorough. Arrangements were put in place for 24-hour care to start with. The proposed arrangements were flexible, so as Mum's needs diminished, then so would the amount of care provided and the length of time that they would last. Mum found the carer kind and thoughtful. Unfortunately, Mum's condition deteriorated and the carer stepped into the breach with constant overnight care. The Manager and her team remained calm, sympathetic and professional. They coped with extensive demands and minimal requirements with the same kindliness and patience. On the organisational side, the Manager was extremely careful and thorough with advice and suggestions that went way beyond her brief.
We feel very honoured that your mum chose Right at Home Hemel Hempstead to be her main care provider. Wishing you and your mum the very best for the future.

The agency helped us at very short notice and over the Christmas period when finding care very difficult. Very professional, caring and first class in every way. I am helped with personal care, meal preparation and getting into bed for the night.

To say they came to our rescue is an understatement. A calm and reassuring and helpful voice at the end of the telephone provided me with some much-needed support. At pretty short notice, just before Christmas, Right at Home were able to provide us with evening meal/bedtime care for my mother who has MS and is wheelchair bound due to a stroke.
My mother is very happy with the care and support she is receiving and reassured to know that her care will continue right through the forthcoming bank holidays. Our carer prepares the evening meal which they eat together and my mother enjoys the new conversation. We are all very happy with the service Right at Home continues to provide.

I am the proud Owner/Director of Right at Home Hemel Hempstead, an award-winning quality Homecare provider, loved by people who we are honoured to serve.
After completing my postgraduate degree in 2006, I began my career as an offshore structural engineer working for multinational oil & gas corporations. While proud of my engineering journey, I longed for something more meaningful - something that would satisfy my heart and soul, too.
Walking alongside my parents as they grew older, and supporting my father through hospital care, gave me a personal understanding of the value of quality care and deepened my resolve to pursue this path.
Ultimately, Right at Home’s core values of “Trust”, “Quality”, “Compassion”, and “Respect” truly resonated with me and convinced me to take the leap and join this highly praised, award-winning franchise group in late 2024.
My team and I take immense pride in improving the quality of life for our clients and their families by helping our clients maintain their independence and enjoy a fulfilled life, tailored to their needs, in the comfort of their own homes.
We are also delighted to receive the "WorkBuzz 5 Star Employer Award 2025" for the fourth time, for our positive team culture and commitment to creating a supportive workplace.

I joined Right at Home Hemel Hempstead in 2024 and now serve as the Registered Manager, leading and supporting our dedicated team of Carers. My priority is to ensure every Carer has the guidance, training, and resources needed to deliver compassionate, high-quality care that upholds dignity and respect for every client.
My journey in health and social care began at 18, when I discovered my passion for making a difference as a Carer. Since then, I’ve progressed through various roles, including Senior Carer, Deputy Manager, and Trainer, supporting Carers in achieving their Level 2 and 3 qualifications. Each step has deepened my commitment to person-centred care and to empowering others within the profession.
One of my proudest milestones has been my promotion to Registered Manager, which enables me to shape care delivery in a way that is truly personalised to each client, while mentoring and developing our care team. What I value most is seeing the positive impact we make daily in the lives of our clients and their families.
Looking ahead, my goal is to continue growing our team and client base so that more people can enjoy living independently at home, supported by outstanding care.
My name is Nikki, and I’m the Deputy Care Manager at Right at Home Hemel Hempstead.
After many years in the corporate financial sector, I chose to pursue a more meaningful career in healthcare, inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic and caring for my mother-in-law until her passing in 2023.
My journey began by volunteering with St John Ambulance, training as a first aider and supporting community and national events, including the London Marathon. I later joined Right at Home as a Carer, where I discovered genuine fulfilment in supporting clients and families.
Keen to take on greater responsibility, I became Care Coordinator, focusing on planning and communication to ensure consistent high-quality care and uphold our people-centred values.
Now, as Deputy Care Manager, I’m proud to guide our dedicated team, providing the resources and encouragement they need to deliver compassionate, personalised care that respects each client’s dignity and independence.
