Home Instead (Southport)

I had a good experience using Home Instead Southport. The carers were friendly and professional. The office staff ensured my visits were covered. I was never left without care. I knew who was coming and they always arrived on time. The only reason I am leaving is due to the high cost.

Over the last 2 1/2 years, Home Instead have cared for my partner's parents who are both now deceased. The service started promptly, changes to the service have been agreed in a timely manner. The whole team at Home Instead were excellent. As we live a distance away, being able to read the respite after each visit gave us reassurance. If there were any issues we would be informed promptly. The carers were professional, considerate, well-informed and did all they could to support my partner's parents and also my partner and myself. They provided advice on practical equipment to aid care. The parents appreciated the kindness and compassionate care provided.

Through professional service from beginning to end. Initial enquiry, setting out a care plan, contact with my dad and myself, reviews and especially the care my dad received. No negative experiences and I would definitely use the service again. I'm only terminating the service because my dad feels able to shop and clean for himself at the moment.

The care for my mum was exceptional. She enjoyed her visits and the ladies did their best to follow Mum's planned menu. They were very kind and made sure they chatted with Mum and always treated her with compassion and respect when helping with her personal needs. Thank you for always being cheerful, office staff included-always helpful straight away.

We have been very impressed by Home Instead and cannot recommend them more highly. Always professional in their dealing with us and the regular carer they provide are of the highest quality - they are like family members. The office staff are always very helpful and they have managed to find extra care when required. Outstanding in every way!

Your service was good, better than other providers as you are more expensive. Perhaps I am being a bit critical but at 98 I tend to compare today with my younger days.

They regularly review the care they give, and communicate with family members and health professionals are flexible and responsive when unexpected changes to needs occur. They ensure the client receives care to a high standard. Also do not cut corners and ensure dignity and individuality are maintained. He could not be more impressed or grateful.

Both regular carers and the support from the office enable Dad to stay in his own home for longer than anticipated. His "team" were excellent.

The service my father received from Home Instead (Southport) was life-changing. Since he started receiving a morning visit each day, his physical and mental health has markedly improved, so after two years of care, he seems two years younger. The care was reliable and tailored to what he needed, and the carers were kind, competent and fun.

Home Instead was always accommodating regarding changing care needs, and the communication with the office staff was always very good.

I have enjoyed and benefitted from the Home Instead service. However, the sudden rise in the weekly cost of £2.50 caused me to dispense with the service. If you had raised the cost in increments I would not be complaining about the rise. I suggest maybe 50p, £1 and £1. If I were good at maths I would be able to work out the percentage rise from £18.00 to £20.50 an hour. I hope carers' wages will rise accordingly.

A very valuable service. Approachable and organised managers, supportive and empathetic caregivers, excellent value for money.

Good service and good carers, they achieved their tasks adequately and professionally. If a lot more could have been achieved at an acceptable price, we may have been able to delay my mother going into a care/residential home.

Everything was efficiently managed by the office. We have two lovely caregivers who helped my husband with care and consideration. They were always cheerful and I was enormously appreciative of their help and friendliness.

I have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead Southport.
