Abbots Care Hertfordshire helped my dad regain his independence following my stay in hospital. All the staff were friendly and courteous. Knowing they were there to help was a massive help for me as well as my dad.
I do not have any problems with my carers. The only problem I have is with management. If my carer is coming very late, it would be nice to receive a telephone call first.
My carers always treat me with dignity - are cheerful, helpful and will have a chat which is nice if you live alone and are housebound.
Always helpful and caring.
My carer has been with me since I left the hospital from my stroke. She is a very caring person, really helpful and never leaves without saying have a good day and see you in the morning.
When I first came out of hospital I spent 6 weeks dreading the hoist. I had my legs knocked so many times. So when Abbots Care took over I was very nervous, so it was with great relief that I found they were so efficient, such lovely people. I have no fears now and they have made my life so much better.
The carer washes and creams my back and feet as my wife or myself cannot do them.
Generlaly extremely helpful. Will come at times not listed when asked. The office does not always advise when times are changed.
Speaking for my wife being partially disabled after breaking her neck, I don't think we could have had a better company or team of carers. If there were medals, all our team would be awarded with gold.
The service has always been good in all respects.
Abbots carers are wonderful people. They have helped me to get back on my feet and shown me how to cope with things myself again I am coping extremely well now doing most things by myself. The carers are always very polite and respectful. I will have no hesitation in recommending this care service.
I have been very grateful for the excellent care. I have been provided with through Abbots Care. All carers are polite and carry out their duties very satisfactorily, it makes life easier for both service user and carer, if they are rotated regularly to me. New carers always take longer, not knowing my routine, but thankfully my AM carer has become my regular carer and although new and young to this work, he has become very reliable and able. An excellent young man and I hope he can receive some recognition of this.
I found the carers to be approachable and very helpful, although night calls were sometimes very late. If I asked them to do anything they were very helpful. I had one or two problems but made carers aware of this.
Level of care and kindness is second to none. We could not ask for more. They are all so very kind to my daughter and we are very grateful. Many thanks.
Very friendly professional carers showing enormous care and respect for the person requiring their assistance. It can be disturbing for someone suffering from dementia to have different faces coming into their home, but their extreme kindness and patience made them feel more like friends. Nothing was too much trouble. Many thanks.
Support provided Monday-Friday 9am-2pm. Regular support provided reliably. Sometimes problems when annual leave taken.
While we know some stay a long time, others move on from different jobs, within a radius of an area.
The work they are all doing, they love and as a user, it is easily seen as half would never leave!
I just wish all the carers were up to one carer's standard. First class.
No complaints about the carers, except I never get the same carer two days running. It's a different carer most days.
This, therefore, is not helping to keep the swelling down in my feet and legs.
Also, the agency carers do not always communicate with me very well and are inconsiderate of my needs.
I have no issues with my regular carers, they are all very pleasant and helpful.
Thank you for the positive feedback about our care workers, however, we are sorry to hear your concerns regarding the agency staff we occasionally employ. Our agency staff undergo vigorous compliance checks and training so please be assured we will investigate your concerns. Kind regards, Abbots Care Ltd

Meet the Team (4)
Together with my family, I founded Abbots Care in 1995 with a mission to provide the highest quality of home care and put Clients in charge of their own choices.
I have worked in the health and social care environment since 1988, as a Support Worker for adults and children, and then as a Care Manager with a national recruitment organisation before commencing with Abbots Care in 1995. I am an NVQ assessor, and a back-care trainer and have a Registered Manager's Award in Care.
I have worked in the Health and Social Care sector for over 20 years. After starting my career working with children, I joined a national care recruitment organisation for the following 17 years, where I registered with CQC and started managing a complex care service to people within their own homes. I completed my level 5 in Leadership in Care Management Services and became a registered manager with CQC before joining Abbots Care as Operations Director.
With over 15 years of experience in the care sector, I have held various roles, including Care Worker, Senior Care Worker, Field Care Supervisor, and Care Coordinator. Currently as Care Director, I have gained Level 5 qualifications in Health and Social Care. I have received STEPs training and hold a Level 4 safeguarding certification. I find fulfillment in delivering compassionate care that enhances individuals’ quality of life
I am a dedicated and experienced professional with over 10 years of experience in the care sector. I have successfully transitioned from direct care provision to my current role as Reablement & Specialist Care Manager as well as registered Care Manager with the CQC for our Dorset and Buckinghamshire provision. My passion for delivering exceptional care and improving lives drives me to make a broader impact.
