Speaking for my wife being partially disabled after breaking her neck, I don't think we could have had a better company or team of carers. If there were medals, all our team would be awarded with gold.

Abbots carers are wonderful people. They have helped me to get back on my feet and shown me how to cope with things myself again I am coping extremely well now doing most things by myself. The carers are always very polite and respectful. I will have no hesitation in recommending this care service.

Very friendly professional carers showing enormous care and respect for the person requiring their assistance. It can be disturbing for someone suffering from dementia to have different faces coming into their home, but their extreme kindness and patience made them feel more like friends. Nothing was
too much trouble. Many thanks.

I have been very grateful for the excellent care. I have been provided with through Abbots Care. All carers are polite and carry out their duties very satisfactorily, it makes life easier for both service user and carer, if they are rotated regularly to me. New carers always take longer, not knowing
my routine, but thankfully my AM carer has become my regular carer and although new and young to this work, he has become very reliable and able. An excellent young man and I hope he can receive some recognition of this.

I found the carers to be approachable and very helpful, although night calls were sometimes very late. If I asked them to do anything they were very helpful. I had one or two problems but made carers aware of this.

Some staff are 'doing a job' (too few!) and some love it, some very much.
While we know some stay a long time, others move on from different jobs, within a radius of an area.
The work they are all doing, they love and as a user, it is easily seen as half would never leave!

I feel my mum should be in a home but I feel happy Mum is getting the help and care to stay at home.
I just wish all the carers were up to one carer's standard. First class.

No complaints about the carers, except I never get the same carer two days running. It's a different carer most days.

The majority of the time things are excellent until I get sent an agency carer, then it goes pear-shaped as they do not wash me as I like to be washed. They also do not get my surgical socks on correctly. This means I have to have them taken off early as they are so uncomfortable.
This, therefore,
is not helping to keep the swelling down in my feet and legs.
Also, the agency carers do not always communicate with me very well and are inconsiderate of my needs.
I have no issues with my regular carers, they are all very pleasant and helpful.

Thank you for the positive feedback about our care workers, however, we are sorry to hear your concerns regarding the agency staff we occasionally employ. Our agency staff undergo vigorous compliance checks and training so please be assured we will investigate your concerns. Kind regards, Abbots Care Ltd

We are sufficiently satisfied with our carers for our client. They are more or less coming/attending on time within the given time slot. We have had no complaints from the client herself (our elderly lodger).
Instead, she is very pleased with the service. Carers are friendly, polite, kind to the client
and VERY patient.
Overall a very useful, good service to our client.

Recently discharged from hospital following shoulder replacement and receiving physiotherapy. I require assistance in the morning to shower and dress etc. The Abbots Care is excellent, always come at a time suitable to me and always friendly and helpful. The carer also takes me to the hospital for my
regular three-monthly checkup. An excellent service.

I have been extremely happy with this care agency as they are so efficient, friendly and show empathy which means so much to me. I've used another care company in the past and they were nowhere near as good as this one.
They are well trained and it's so nice as you build up a nice relationship with
them too. So I'm very impressed and happy with them. I wouldn't want any other care agency.

I have used Abbots as my care provider for 15 years and this has given me greater independence when accessing social activities with friends. They have changed my life by helping me be normal and independent, this means a lot to me and my family. They help me with things like, going to parties and sometimes
even help me to enjoy a night out. Abbots have helped me access volunteer opportunities and plan a summer party; this means a lot and gives me a sense of purpose and self-belief. The carers here are caring, compassionate and fully committed to the clients they support, as are the staff in the office. As a company they care about their clients, the on-call team are always available to ease any anxieties I may have or answer any queries.

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.332 for Abbots Care Ltd (Hertfordshire) is calculated as follows: ( (136 Excellents x 5) + (18 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (20 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 187 Ratings = 4.332
