We’ve used Home Instead, Stafford, for many years. Since February time and throughout lockdown the staff have bent over backwards to support and care for my aunt, providing carers who are a good personality match to my aunt and frequently reviewing her care needs, being very adaptable and with the ability to be reactive to her changing needs. For example, following a short hospital stay during lockdown my aunt needed short term extra care which they worked hard to put in place in 24 hours, including prepping the new carers for her specific needs. Any problems I’ve had, the staff in the office have listened and done their best to resolve them in a timely fashion.
Having lost my dad late in 2019, my mum found herself living on her own for the first time ever. Her mobility was poor, but mentally she felt she wanted to remain in her own home.
After an initial meeting with Home Instead, we decided to engage them, initially two visits per day. Early morning a carer would arrive and get mum up, dress her and get her breakfast. Later in the day, they would call back to get her tea.
After about 4-months, my mum's mobility began to decline, and we have to increase the visits to four per day.
After numerous night time falls and mobility getting worse, in September my mum took the decision to go into a Nursing Home.
All the carers who came to my mum's home were very professional. Each one of them was always dressed smartly, were very caring and honest. A daily diary was completed online, which was very useful, and any problems were reported to me immediately.
Home Instead provided a valuable home care service to my 95-year-old mum. The team enabled her to remain independent and living at home whilst receiving care from the Home Instead team. The staff helped my mum with daily living duties, personal washing, laundry and shopping, visiting her each day for several months after she found she did not like being in a care home. The staff were always friendly, responsive and helpful to Mum and provided her with some social contact each day as well. As she became less able and her health was failing, the team were able to provide more input into her care. My mum wanted to stay at home for as long as she could with home care support until the point where she needed medical care and the service did enable her to do just that whilst maintaining a degree of independence. I would definitely recommend Home Instead to anyone in a position who could benefit from their services.
Having had contact with another care agency previously we found the care givers from Home Instead exceeded our expectations. My husband was treated with respect, dignity and compassion. I believe he would not have been able to remain at home for as long as he did without them. Now, unfortunately, he is in a care home but between us we did manage to look after him for as long as possible.
We are very grateful to Home Instead and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing to organise care or companionship for a relative or friend.
The Home Instead Team were fantastic and I would definitely recommend them to anyone. They were kind, patient, friendly and caring, and happily dealt with whatever they were faced with! Unfortunately, my dad is in hospital now but we will absolutely turn to the Home Instead Team again for their wonderful help and support when he returns home following rehab. I can't say a big enough thanks to the staff for taking such great care of my dad, and the manager and staff who were always at the end of the phone for further support and advice.
I have been taking care of my 95-year-old Dad for 14-years, and he was reluctant to have care. I contacted Home Instead, they were very professional and so caring from my first contact. The care manager came and spent time with Dad and me, and then a carer was introduced - they spent time getting to know us. The compassion and care shown to Dad was exceptional, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. They have the care that you would give yourself - excellent. Thank you.
The gentle care and understanding my husband received during your time with him was, without a doubt, amazing. For me, it was like welcoming a supportive friend into the house and the burden of care floated off my shoulders for the first time in months. Even after he went into care you paid him a visit, giving him a sense of continuity, and myself deep comfort.
We had been allocated other care companies in the past who had let us down severely and so it was a welcome and refreshing change to see how Home Instead really cared about all aspects of their clients.
• Punctuality and Reliability
• Care/Warmth/Health and Welfare
• Systems (if we needed to tweak arrangements) getting through to speak to someone never a challenge.
Although he was never one to worry about his appearance whilst I was growing up, whilst he was in the charge of Home Instead he was always, clean, fresh and impeccably turned out by the team.
I can't recommend them enough.
We began using Home Instead as additional help when Mum was caring for my Dad. They were cheerful and capable, reliable and kind. When my Mum needed extra help herself, we approached Home Instead again. Their manner assessing the person's need is professional and they enter a dialogue to discuss ways of assisting. Mum's regular carers were unfailingly kind and friendly, respectful and considerate. They made staying at home manageable for Mum and we as family far away were reassured and supported by knowing the care was regular, trustworthy, and truly caring. They try and meet your needs on timings as best they can and make themselves available to discuss alterations if needed. I have already recommended them to other friends with elderly parents who need a bit of extra help. I will always be grateful to them.
Home Instead offered excellent, compassionate and professional care to my mum who has advanced Alzheimer’s. Their carers were well trained for my mum’s needs and really took the time to get to know her and her preferences. The management team was helpful, organised and efficient - rotas were well organised, they ensured continuity of care and were always quick to deal with any adjustments. Thank you Home Instead!
Having in house carers was a big step for my mum, I wanted to assure that she not only received care but also company and support with day to day tasks which she was still able to do but were getting harder for her, Home Instead carers have provided this service and my mum looks forward to their visits.
For the past 15 months I had the pleasure of using the services of Home Instead, during this time I met several ladies and would describe them all as caring carers. They genuinely enjoyed helping my sister-in-law although she could be stubborn at times, they would find a way to coax her into co-operating with the necessary tasks. I know that they enhanced her quality of life during this time and I would not hesitate recommending them.
The team looking after our 87-year-old Dad were professional and caring. They worked with us to ensure that he was able to retain his dignity and remain in his own home. He was well cared for with the team often going above and beyond to ensure he was happy, he loved his visits from ‘one of his ladies’. It gave our family complete peace of mind. Communication with the team and managers was excellent. We can't thank them enough.
I have received services since March this year and have a carer for an hour each weekday. Initially, this was to help my rehabilitation after a fractured femur, this was very helpful and I got back to reasonable mobility. I was about to cancel my care, when, unfortunately, I sustained an injury to my leg which has taken eight months to heal and has been very debilitating. Care has evolved according to my needs. Originally I received mostly personal care, but now my help is more centred on homecare and company. My carers are informed, kind and helpful. I enjoy continuity of care. When one particular carer did not quite gel with me, this was dealt with sensitively and quickly. Managers are approachable, helpful and competent. Overall, I feel I am still making progress and that the help I have received has improved my self-confidence.
I have been involved with this agency now for the past few years whilst working alongside a gentleman with mental health needs. I have always found them to be extremely helpful, caring and professional. They are always willing to help out if any problems arise and go the extra mile if necessary. They are easy to contact and prompt to help with any queries. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needs that extra assistance. A first-class service with first-class staff.
They are considerate, respectable and caring to help my mother who has dementia, and they go the extra mile to encourage her to keep her self respect and be safe.
My mother's requirements are reviewed by the line manager on a regular basis with myself, to ensure that she has the best care package.
Well done everybody.
The caregivers treat my brother with dignity and respect, they are polite, professional and caring. He's given choices and not rushed, he's listened too and encouraged in day to day life. The management regularly reviews and checks everything is ok for him and still working. In my opinion, this company, the management and its staff excel in every aspect of care. And are a valuable asset/addition to our family. I personally can't thank them enough for their support.
The staff in the office were also extremely helpful and caring. Living some way from Mum, it really helped me to know that she was being so well looked after. It allowed Mum to keep her independence and enjoy life despite her physical problems.
I cannot thank Home Instead enough for all the excellent care they have given to my mum for years. The carers are all brilliant and some also who were her main carers I can only describe as exceptional. The whole organisation throughout is top class. Anyone looking for care for a relative or friend should use this wonderful service. Thank you all at Home Instead, your support has been very much appreciated. Excellent is the only word I can use for this service.
The care and support provided to my husband by Home Instead during his Parkinsons were really wonderful. I cannot speak highly enough of all the carers and admin staff. They were all first class. Thank you.

Meet the Team (5)
This Home Instead office has been providing support for many years and I am very proud of everything that we have achieved.
My previous role was at a children’s hospice, where the person-centred care made such a difference in their quality of life. Because of that, I feel very passionate about helping people to keep their independence for as long as possible, wherever they are on life’s journey, making sure that their care matches their wishes at all times.
We couldn’t provide such great care without our brilliant staff either! They are a really dedicated team who always go the extra mile.
I have now worked for Home Instead for well over a decade, starting initially as a carer. I had previously worked with children but thought about a career change and realised that I wanted to help older people. It is very rewarding to build relationships and support our clients to live their lives to the fullest. I have progressed within the company over that time and am now the Care Manager. Every day is different and I really enjoy what I do.
I am passionate about providing the highest quality care that we can. I visit clients at home and it is wonderful when they say what a difference we make to their lives.
Away from work, I enjoy cooking and spending time with my husband and children.
I started my career in the care sector a little over 30 years ago. During that time, I have been employed in a variety of care settings, working with learning disabilities, the elderly and also mental health clients in a secure unit. I have also been a Registered Manager at a residential care home.
I became a carer here in May 2018 and am now the Training and Retention Manager. I came here because I believe that we can make a real difference to people’s lives, and reassure loved ones, best of all the calls are never rushed!
In my free time, I enjoy quizzes, art and football. (It’s Stoke City if you’re wondering!).
I had a job in administration previously and also helped in the office part-time, managing the accounts.
From a very young age, I was used to meeting new people at Mum and Dad’s office when we lived in Spain.
I really enjoy finding out what makes people tick and seeing if they share Home Instead’s values.
I am so pleased to be working in my parent’s family business. Working here is fantastic because providing such a high standard of care is something I can be very proud of. I also love working with Mum; to see her every day is wonderful. My mum and I are both caring people, which definitely comes from my nan, as she used to work in a children’s residential home and with people with learning disabilities. I enjoy working with the team and helping to develop new staff.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my Husband and kids. We go on narrowboat holidays whenever we can.
I originally trained as a Registered General Nurse and worked for a number of years in a general surgery ward.
After a career break to look after my children, I wanted a change from a hospital environment and was looking for a care company that didn’t rush through calls and where I would be able to spend some quality time with the clients.
I have worked here now for many years and have always supported the same clients, which is very rewarding and I’ve been able to build good relationships with them. Since starting to work in the office I have been keeping care plans updated and auditing our paperwork.
I enjoy long walks with my Jack Russell terrier, time with the family and going to the cinema.
