My carers are excellent, very kind and thoughtful.
The lady who comes to help me is very pleasant and willing. The charge has gone up since I joined this agency - past year - 2016 which I am not happy about. I refuse to pay 45p per mile if taken out in a car. I cannot walk very far.
Unfortunately, the cost of care to all of our clients has increased to ensure we continue to attract the highest quality of Caregivers on which the quality of our service is based.
The 45p per mile charge is...
Caring, cheerful, helpful, alert, willing, prompt and nothing is too much trouble.
When my mother was ill recently, they went above and beyond to ensure my mother's wellbeing. Being one of two agencies attending to her needs, Home Instead Senior Care (Ipswich) staff's commitment well surpassed that of the other agency staff. Being at some distance from my mother (4 hours by car) they give the family peace of mind. My mum has become more frail and less able, they have stepped up their support without my having to request.
Firstly, I must apologise for writing this so late - I mislaid writing my review and then was rather overwhelmed by being a granny in Bristol and visiting my mother, now in a care home, in Suffolk.
Home Instead provided care twice daily for my mother between November 2015 and end March 2016. The carers who came were very kind to my mother and one in particular, became a real friend (another was thought to be a bit scatty). Generally, they were good. Especially good too were the backup team at Home Instead - there was always somebody there to deal with any emergencies 24/7.
My brother and I were very pleased with their service and grateful for all the trouble they took over my mother.
I have always been extremely pleased with the service provided by Home Instead. The office staff are fantastic at communication between ourselves and the carers. The carers are always prompt, professional and polite and provide a high level of care to my Mother-in-Law who has mid-stage dementia. The carers always take the time to listen to my Mother-in-Law to find out what she is trying to communicate as she finds this increasingly difficult. My thanks go to all the staff for their constant help and support.
Satisfactory on all accounts. Lovely carers, sensible, helpful, knowledgeable and good fun!
We have been involved with Home Instead since February 2015. They have been providing care for my 96-year-old mother who has dementia and has full time live in carers in her own flat. The carers from Home Instead come every day for 2 hours to cover the live-in carers break and I have found the service provided to be excellent. The team have been able to provide us with regular carers so mum has got to know them well and vice versa. The communication from the office is excellent and I am always kept in touch with any changes. The carers are wonderful, very caring, patient and kind. In all our time we have never had any problems with them and I cannot praise them enough for their care. All in all - a wonderful service. Thank you Home Instead.
The service provided by Home Instead for my mother has been excellent. The staff are well trained, professional and just nice people. This is important in keeping her company and giving her confidence to use their services to the full in helping her with household jobs and caring for her, something she was reluctant to ask for at the outset. Over the past six months, she has come to see them as friends as well as carers.
Having had a Home Instead for 12 months including a weekend of 24hr care, my mother is safe. Treated with dignity with good communication.
Mum has double dementia.
I have a life which she lives with us and support and interaction with a good agency.
Very considerate approach to my wife's problems and impact on me as her carer. Careful selection of help provided to give respite care and the task about home needed. We have had great support from the office who have proved the reliability and assurance of the service expected.
I feel my carers have been handpicked to look after me, my regular carer can't seem to do enough for me, nothing is too much trouble for her. She has a very pleasant personality and is good company. I look forward to her visits.
I have nothing but praise for the 4 carers who cover my needs always cheerful and helpful. We could not manage my professional care without them.
After trying two other care agencies for my mother's care, Home Instead was recommended. After the initial meeting, I was quickly aware that Home Instead would provide one to one care as near to my ideal as possible. Mum has one carer for the main bulk of hours each day who is fantastic. There are three other carers who come in for the hour slot of care for meds and meal assistance. The other point worth making is Home Instead carers do not wear the uniform which seems to be important to mum.
I felt very comfortable with the review and found it helpful. Able to say how I really feel. I am very grateful for the help and care I am receiving.
I have always found the carers to be friendly, polite and professional. They always arrive on time and help my mother-in-law with the housework, hoovering and changing the bed etc which are tasks that she would now struggle with. The carers also remind my mother-in-law to take her medication, book appointments and take her to various appointments. The communication with the office is excellent and I am always informed if a session needs to be re-arranged or other information forwarded on to me. I would not hesitate in recommending Home Instead to other families looking for care.
From the very start the experience of my mum and myself has been positive. The initial consultation to find out my mum's needs was detailed and very respectful of how my mum was feeling. She is a proud women, used to being the "carer" and not the "cared for". From just one day a week my mum now has someone every day. Priority is given to reminding mum to take her drugs and to prepare and give her a good lunch. The carers are warm and positive people. Reviews of my mum's changing needs happen very frequently. An excellent service all round.
Home Instead are an efficient and caring agency who put the needs of their clients first. All caregivers (of which mum has 6) are all extremely professional and very well trained. They provide the very best of personal care and companionship for my mother which allows her to enjoy life safely in her own home. Carers cook meals with mum, play games, take walks and go out for trips locally. In spite of advanced dementia mum has an excellent quality of life thanks to Home Instead.
We have had caregivers from Home Instead come in to see mum for almost two years. They are very professional and caring ladies who mum looks forward to see twice a day. Any problems are always resolved as soon as possible and there is always someone at the other end of the telephone.
Home Instead is an extremely caring and professional agency. Staff are always polite, compassionate and helpful. Standards of care are excellent. With Home Instead, Ipswich you know what you are going to get and it's a thorough, efficient and reliable service.
