I had an extremely kind and caring Polish girl looking after me for a week before my hip replacement operation and for four weeks afterwards. She was incredibly helpful, drove me to family and friends’ houses, did my shopping and we often went out together for pub lunches. She was very easy to live
with and very attentive and kept me company even when doing the wretched exercises three times a day! I felt thoroughly spoilt and I will miss her company enormously when she leaves on Tuesday. We found a Polish shop in Chichester so she cooked some Polish meals as well as all other meals. There is also a Polish service in our Catholic Church which she went to on some Sundays. Washing and ironing were done very consistently and the house has never been cleaner. I would thoroughly recommend this agency. It is extremely well run, friendly and they found me my carer within a week. During the first week, a representative from Promedica visited to check both I and my carer were happy.

I was looking for a 24-hour live-in care provider for my parents. Promedica24 was given to me alongside other named providers. Having no knowledge of this type of care, I had to make a choice. I chose Promedica24, and I am so pleased I did.
I would recommend them to anyone looking for this type of
help. They were very informative and explained each and every step. They maintain contact with you doing nothing without your consent. The carers have been delightful, and my parents are well looked after.

Promedica24 have been providing live-in care for my 89-year-old mum since she came out of hospital after a fall. The Carer is very supportive, kind and encouraging. The personal service from the management has been flexible and understanding. The family feel confident that mum is being very well cared
for.
Reply from Jonathan Hayley, Regional Partner at Promedica24

Thank you Lesley we really appreciate your kind feedback and are delighted your mum has been able to continue living independently with our support. We heard about the fantastic mince pies that your mum baked before Christmas.

We have employed Promedica24 Lin-In Care since July 2019 to look after my elderly mother who has dementia and no longer able to live safely on her own. We have found Prodemedica staff to be caring and compassionate in supporting Mum in both personal and domestic care tasks. In addition, her current
carer is also very proactive in offering 'enrichment' activities which Mum really enjoys eg., going for walks together, reading books, looking through photographs together. I have also found the management staff very responsive when needed. Overall, I would recommend this company.

Promedica24 have been providing live-in care for Mum since May 2019 and the care and attention she receives has been of the highest standard. The initial discussions we had in setting up the care were handled with sensitivity and respect. The support from the management and the way the care was put
into place meant that Mum was at ease straight away.
Both the ladies are extremely well trained, professional, warm, caring and nothing is too much trouble. They have adapted to Mum's changing needs flawlessly and we are confident that Mum is getting the best care possible while still remaining in her own home.
The communication with the management is very good, well organised and we have already recommended Promedica24 to friends.

When we first contacted Promedica in the UK, the Regional Partner came to see us straight away and as our need was urgent, really bent over backwards to try and help. Both he and the local Care Manager have gone above and beyond in their efforts to try and source the most suitable care for my husband,
who has Alzheimer's with challenging behaviour.
We have been provided with three care workers and each one was a really nice and kind person, conscientious with good English. Promedica were wonderful in their communications and keeping us informed, and reacting to our queries. Sadly this service didn't work for us and here is the caveat. We required a care worker who was very experienced with Alzheimer's and challenging behaviour and although the team assured us that they had the requisite experience, none of them did. So I would unhesitatingly recommend the agency for personal care and looking after someone with non-challenging behaviour.
Reply from Gary Derbyshire, Regional Manager at Promedica24

Thank you so much for your constructive comments Sally. Its great to read you appreciated the efforts of the team and that the carers really tried their best but also sad that we were not able to meet the specific needs of the family at this time. As a regulated provider it is important to have this feedback so we can continue to improve training and recruitment. We all know that dementia is a complex condition and that everyone is impacted differently. Our aim and challenge is to offer support that is appropriate to all the different forms of dementia. Your constructive comments will help with this process. I want to wish you well for the future.

Promedica provided holiday cover for our own live in carer, who looked after our two elderly parents. The replacement carers all did three or four weeks live in, they were brilliant - warm, caring, competent and great fun! It was demanding work and they were all reliable, patient and responsible people.
The agency managers were excellent too, very responsive and we felt we had a very personal and exceptional level of support.
Thank you Promedica!

My husband has been a client of Promedica24 since December 2018. He had a stroke in July 2018 and after spending several months in hospital and rehabilitation has had 24-hour care supplied by Promedica24. I have found Promedica24 efficient to deal with and they have made the whole process easy. The
carers have all been very kind and caring and a pleasure to have living as family. My husband has made progress with their determination, drive and hard work.

We would like to say how satisfied we are with the service and care provided by Promedica24. Having assessed the 93-year-old client in hospital, they were able to set up a 24 hours live-in carer within five days to coincide with his return home.
The carer established a sympathetic and caring regime
which met the needs of the client in all respects, and which has been fundamental in the continued mental and physical improvement of the client.
We are impressed by the professionalism of Promedica24 and have no hesitation in making a recommendation.

We’re most grateful for the support you are giving.

The carers from Promedica who look after my father have been amazing. We trust them implicitly, they are caring, capable and kind. My father was very ill in hospital recently and our carer went in every day for several hours to ensure dad was eating and given enough fluids. We are grateful to our carer
and to Promedica for sending such wonderful people to look after my father.

It was important in deciding on live-in care for our mother that she maintain as much control over her life as possible. The managers took the time to understand what was wanted to ensure that the carer was a good match. Subsequently, they have been responsive to questions, and prompt and professional
with the administration.

The first carer spoke excellent English, showed sensitivity in helping our mother adapt, and she now feels reassured by having someone there. She also enjoys the home cooking, which is important to her and having all her shopping and cleaning taken care of. Both carers have been kind, patient and considerate regarding privacy, and we can enjoy spending time with Mum, rather than worrying about what might happen in our absence.

Although it is still early days, we are happy that a difficult situation has been eased, and that we have made a good choice both financially and, more importantly, in terms of the quality of care provided.

I contacted Promedica24 when I was looking for a live-in carer for my very frail father who had been in hospital for many weeks and had been waiting for a social care package. He had complex medical issues and rather than wait, we decided to organise our own care. I cannot praise Promedica24 highly
enough. From start to finish the service was efficient, supportive and caring. Sadly my father had to be readmitted to hospital where he died. Dad's lovely carer remained with Dad during this time, spending time with him every day in hospital so that someone was with him most of the time, and also keeping the house looked after.
When it became clear that Dad was dying, his carer chose to remain at his bedside and continued to help me care for my dad, for which I am incredibly grateful. The carer was only with us for a short time but we now consider him to be a family friend and would recommend him and Promedica24 to anyone seeking live in care for themselves or their loved one.

We used Promedica24’s services to care for my mother when she left hospital and needed extra care. The care and assistance we received was first class, both for us as a family and my mother. The manager was always at the end of the phone if needed and would occasionally call just to check everything
was fine and we were happy. This was very helpful at a time when we, as a family, were under quite a bit of pressure and stress with full-time work as well as the worry of mum’s wellbeing. Mum’s carer was extremely caring and understanding and we felt mum was being cared for by a friend.

As time went on, mother's health, strength and confidence improved and we eventually felt it was safe to reduce the amount of care and support she needed.

We would not hesitate to use their services again if needed.

The carers are clean, well presented and speak good English. Their spoken English has improved as they have gained confidence and spoken with people with a local accent. We also play scrabble. Their housekeeping skills are of a high standard. We have been able to talk about many things including current
affairs. We have been able to talk about many things including current affairs. My only concern is that they might express their opinions about work attitude in inappropriate places. This has not happened. They have encouraged me to use the local bus and go out more and generally encouraged me to enjoy life. They treat me with respect, dignity and a sense of humour.

My nan, 92, had been in hospital for approximately eight weeks. After an incredible health improvement and defying all odds, she went into a care home but very quickly decided she wanted to be in her own home!
As a family we realised for her to return home and be safe, Nan needed a trustworthy, full
time live in carer to support with the physical and mental demands of the home, provide peace of mind and company.
After a thorough search, Promedica24 stood out, both in the proposed level of care and customer support.
The day Nan moved back home, she was met by myself, her new carer and the Promedica24 Care Manager. The carer was extremely well presented with excellent communication skills and demonstrated extreme patience and a caring nature towards Nan. This continued throughout the whole period of which she lived with and cared for my Nan.
I can not thank Promedica24 enough for their level of service, promptness and a carer who surpassed our expectations.

The 4 children of the cared for lady, want to express our deep gratitude to your company for everything you did for our Mum. She had an extended life to almost 101 and a half, as a result of your wonderful live-in carers, every one of them. They cared for her and really "Cared". It took the worry and

My mother's health needs were increasing and we needed live-in care. There was a lack of local care companies specialising in this sort of care. We found Promedica24, contacted the manager to discuss our needs.

A single, live in carer started in Nov 2018, providing personal care, feeding and medication.

Mum's health continued to decline, we needed night cover as well. A second carer joined in February, providing the round the clock intensive care and support Mum needed.

Local management and the live-in care workers were excellent. Calls and queries were dealt with quickly. Regular visits and supervisions were conducted and communicated by the care managers. The carers provided updates and reassurance in a difficult time. The team also supported us. As family members with emotional ties, this was extremely important. We also ensured the carer’s felt valued.

The atmosphere was kind and caring which Mum could pick up on. This is what caring is about.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.059)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.059) out of 10 for Promedica24 is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.159 for Promedica24 is calculated as follows: ( (39 Excellents x 5) + (13 Goods x 4) + (4 Poors x 2) + (7 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 63 Ratings = 4.159

    The 5 points available are broken down as follows: 3 points for the first Positive Review, 2 points in total for each of the next 9 Positive Reviews (1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.25, 5th = 0.25, 6th = 0.1, 7th = 0.1, 8th = 0.1, 9th = 0.1, 10th = 0.1)

    The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Promedica24 is based on 9 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 4.9
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I started working in care over 15 years ago. My son was two and a half at the time and I needed a job that would fit around being his mum.

I started as a Care Support Worker and quickly found that I really enjoyed being part of a care team. Hearing people's stories, and being able to be a small part in ensuring they still knew they were valued and that they still had a lot to offer this world gave me a sense of knowing that this was the career path for me.

I believe starting as a Carer and then working my way up has allowed me to see the different processes and given me a better overall understanding. I am passionate about good person-centred care where the person is always at the heart of everything we do. I worked my way up over the years studying as I went along.

I worked as a Carer, Admin Support, Trainer, Locality Manager, Client Relationship Manager, and Care Manager and after completing my level 5, I have now moved up into the Registered Manager Role.

Working within Promedica24 has given me a great sense of teamwork, of the importance of supporting your team, and a great understanding of how putting the people who use our service first has great benefits for all.

I hope to lead with a servant's heart and enable my team to achieve their goals. Care is where my heart lies, and being able to be a part of a fantastic care company in a leadership role is a challenge I am looking forward to, and one where I will give my very best. I will uphold our values, and work hard with my colleagues to ensure we deliver the best possible person-centred care.

Gary

Gary Derbyshire

Job Title: Ribble Valley, Lancashire and North Yorkshire Regional Partner

Hello, I’m Gary - your Regional Partner for North Yorkshire and Lancashire. I launched the Promedica24 Lancashire office in 2016 with my partner Gill, before expanding our services to North Yorkshire, offering people a genuine alternative to residential care. I’ve previously worked for the Met Office on its Healthy Outlook Initiative, supporting the NHS and Primary Care Trusts to help keep people with respiratory health conditions to live well at home at times of poor weather, whilst also helping to avoid hospital admissions.

A common theme throughout my career is my desire to help and support others. Whether through my community fundraising initiatives with local charities such as Dementia Forward or through raising key issues with decision makers in health and social care – I am passionate about ensuring the people of Lancashire and North Yorkshire can live independently and well in the comfort of their own homes.

In my spare time I enjoy playing golf, walking in the countryside with Gill and our dogs, and watching my favourite football team, Manchester United – though that's not been too enjoyable in recent times!

Mark Muller

Job Title: Dorset and Hampshire Regional Partner

Hello, I’m Mark – your Regional Partner for Dorset, Hampshire & the New Forest. I joined Promedica24 in 2015 to provide people with a genuine alternative to residential care. With over 15 years of experience in the care industry, I continue striving to help meet the real need for live-in care in the southwest.

I am convinced supporting people to remain in the home they love is the best environment for people who find themselves needing support. As life chips away at our capabilities, we will all need some level of support. This varies greatly from preparing meals, providing a means for people to remain active in their communities to helping couples remain together. The relationships I have witnessed and the changes we have enabled show me that we are making a positive impact in people’s lives every day.

In my spare time, I act as a non-paid driver for my daughter ferrying her to various clubs, and I occasionally get out for a bike ride with friends. With two cats, a dog, a hamster, fish, and frogs, there is always something to do. Walking our dog Thor keeps me fit whatever the weather and I’m fortunate to live in a lovely area with the beach and forest not far away.

I am also a Dementia Friend with the Alzheimer’s Society, raising awareness and understanding of what it’s like living with the condition in my community.

Job Title: Chester, Cheshire and North Wales Regional Partner

Hello, I’m John – your Regional Partner for Chester, Cheshire, and North Wales. I launched the Promedica24 Cheshire branch just over five years ago to provide the communities I serve with a genuine alternative to residential care. I’m proud to say my live-in care branch is known amongst the Cheshire community as the go-to provider in the area.

Caring for people is part of my family heritage. My parents both worked in the NHS, my sister still does, and my children aspire to be dietitians and physiotherapists. As a teenager, I saw how hard it was for my parents to juggle their busy jobs whilst raising a young family and caring for my grandparents. I know what this pressure looks and feels like for people now.

Today, what my parents want from professional care in later life has radically altered. They wish to remain at home. To stay in familiar surroundings, with family and friends able to visit at any time. To keep their pets, their possessions, and routines. To live their own lives and have their own choices. I very much welcome a chat with you to see how we can improve you and your loved one's life if professional care is required.

In my spare time, you’ll find me in my garden or on a tennis court (I’m quite competitive). Maybe reading a history book - if I get any peace and quiet with teenage children around – which isn’t often!

Job Title: Wirral and Cheshire East Regional Partner

Hello, I’m Jonathan – your Regional Partner for Wirral. I launched the Promedica24 branch in 2016 after identifying a real need for alternatives to residential care in the area. I was born in Clatterbridge and grew up in West Kirby before going to the University of Leeds to read Russian and Czech. I spent over 20 years in the IT and telecommunications sector, working across the UK and Europe meeting people from many different nationalities and cultures. I’m now married and live in Heswall with my family.

I am part of the Dementia Friends initiative, participating in Dementia Services Showcase events in addition to being a key speaker at Later Life Seminars with AgeUK Wirral. I look forward to working with you and seeing how we can best support you to live independently in the comfort of your own home.

As a keen fan of the outdoors, I was an active member and volunteer at Neston Cricket club for over 10 years and I’m now a volunteer and participant at both West Kirby and Dee Sailing Clubs where I sail with my children. In Wirral, we are fortunate to have an abundance of wonderful outdoor spaces on our doorstep and I hope people of all ages can continue to enjoy them for a long time to come.

Job Title: North Surrey Regional Partner

Hello, I’m Tibor – your Regional Partner for North & West Surrey. As one of the very first franchise partners in the UK, I have been running my live-in care branch in Surrey since April 2014. Back in my home country, Hungary, I worked in PR and sales, before moving into the care industry and working as a carer for two years. Fast forward eight years, and I have helped hundreds of families across Surrey find the support they need.

I am passionate about making a difference in my community, and my role as Regional Partner is to ensure people have access to the support they need to live their lives. Whether your loved one requires help around the home, or you are finding everyday tasks just that little bit more challenging, we are here to provide you with the best possible care to live your life independently in the comfort of your own home.

For almost two years, before Covid, I supported the local community as a volunteer driver, taking vulnerable people to GP and hospital appointments. I have also been helping a local family with two disabled children for several years as a translator and interpreter to keep in touch with social services and healthcare professionals.
