Julie, co-owner and director of Radfield Home Care Chester & Ellesmere Port before living overseas for 10 years, worked for ‘Diageo’ for 15 years as an account administrator. She also was a team leader in departmental projects and delivered training when the department migrated overseas. Julie started her own Childcare business which she ran for 4 years gaining childcare qualifications before going overseas.

Whilst working overseas Julie worked in Dubai English Speaking College as a Food and Nutrition Technician and Kitchen Manager, gaining many qualifications in food & nutrition, first aid and fire marshal.

Julie explains, “We came back to Chester, my husband’s hometown, to settle back into English life and to get involved in the community around us. We both knew that we wanted to give something back to the community we love and get involved in making people's lives better.”

Kevin, co-owner and director of Radfield Home Care Chester & Ellesmere Port has a wealth of knowledge across many corporate business sectors.

As a qualified quantity surveyor, Kevin has worked on many major projects around the world, with over 20 years of experience as a contracts engineer and manager, working and living in the Middle East for much of his career.

Kevin explains, “Chester is my hometown, and we both love to get involved and help the community around us. As a home care provider, we have the vision to make older people’s lives better by being compassionate, trustworthy, friendly and professional in the service we provide.”

We would like to introduce you to Clare Harding, the Registered Care Manager for Radfield Home Care Chester & Ellesmere Port.

I have over a decade of experience in care, starting out as a care professional. Over the years, I progressed to a field care supervisor and assistant care manager.

I started my career in care as a part-time care professional. When I moved over to the care sector full-time time I was promoted to field care supervisor, then to assistant care manager and on to registered care manager. Starting as a care professional has meant that I understand the challenges that care professionals face every day. I still enjoy delivering care and being out and about supporting the care professionals, clients and their families.

I have always enjoyed helping people and spending a lot of time with my grandma and her friends when I was a child. I was a manager in the catering sector for many years. I then went on to apply to be a part-time care professional, quickly discovering that I had found the perfect career path and moved over to the care sector full-time. I enjoy putting a smile on the clients' faces and going home with a feeling that I had made a difference in someone’s day.

Throughout my career, I have completed every role in the field and in the office within Domiciliary Care. This has provided me with good overall knowledge of every part of the business. As a care professional, I especially enjoyed delivering end-of-life care and dementia care to clients. I have extensive knowledge and experience that our clients can benefit from. Val began her career in hairdressing and retail before moving into healthcare, spending eight years as a healthcare assistant at the Countess of Chester Hospital across the colorectal ward and stroke unit. Her decision to move into social care was shaped by her experience caring for her mother during an illness, which inspired her to deliver high-quality, compassionate support to older people in the community.

Val joined Radfield Home Care Chester to provide community support aligned with her personal values. Barbara Williams began her social care career 15 years ago as a Care Professional after working in retail. Driven by a desire to help people remain safely independent at home, she gained extensive frontline experience before stepping into office management, earning her Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care.

As Care Coordinator at Radfield Home Care Chester & Ellesmere Port, Barbara manages visit scheduling, on-call support, and quality supervisions. Having worked in the field for many years, she understands the daily responsibilities of frontline staff and ensures Care Professionals receive strong operational support. Nia Cooke brings over three decades of social care experience to her role, having worked in the sector since 1991. She began her career as a senior carer for social services before moving into private home care in 2006, where she spent 16 years managing care package coordination and visit scheduling.

Joining Radfield Home Care Chester & Ellesmere Port in September 2022 as Recruitment Manager, Nia uses her extensive background communicating with clients and families to identify compassionate Care Professionals. Dianne built her career in domiciliary care, starting as a care worker before progressing into supervisory and Care Coordinator roles. Throughout her time in the sector, she has managed care teams and supported clients with a wide variety of health conditions.

Shaun began his career in social care in 2005 as a home carer for Cumbria County. He developed specialist experience in supporting recovery and personal independence, progressing to become a Reablement Support Worker in 2012 and a Reablement and Review Officer in 2019. After relocating to Chester in 2022, he joined Radfield Home Care Chester & Ellesmere Port.

Driven by a desire to help people make a positive difference in their daily lives, Shaun uses his public sector background and practical care experience to support local clients.
