Overall Experience

All or most agencies are the same but I truly believe the service and back office staff do 'care'. At 92 with dementia she can fe a handful but the care staff have met her needs, the back office have always answered the phone and provide comprehensive updates.

Review of Westminster Homecare (Nottingham) from C H (Daughter of Client) published on 9 December 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

After caring for my mum for 1 week they have given notice that we have to find a new provider. This is because 2 female carers have complained about my mum verbally abusing them. The other 5 carers that have attended have not complained. Mum is 85 and lost her speech due to a stroke 3.5 years ago. She cannot communicate so gets frustrated with herself - not the carers. I would have thought that you would have knowledge of stroke victims and the difficulties they face. Your 2 carers that have complained about my mum do not seem very compassionate. Our previous care provider did hot have any issues with mum during the 3 years they looked after her, they could not look after her anymore because she was their only client left in this area. I cannot understand why 2 female carers are offended by an old woman in the latter days of her life. They are not very resilient. Mum's co-ordinator was very brusque on the telephone, not prepared to discuss the situation. Avoid avoid.

Care package is on the whole good, however there has been a few instances when the careers have been late, would appreciate a phone when this happens, as my Mother worries. Otherwise the package works very well.

Westminster have been amazing with my mum. The staff both in office and those that visit my mum do actually care. They are consistent, thorough, competent and actually go above what is required to meet my mum's needs. We had major issues with the previous provider and Westminster have put my trust back into care in the home. I cannot thank them enough. Shout out to Gillian, Shirley, Hannah, Jade and Melanie you are amazing.

The carers are good and well-trained. There is a flow of new carers. The carers are generally punctual. carers well well-trained and keep to time. It is better if the same carers can be used. This is usually achieved

I have no problem with the people that come to care for my wife, infact I think they are first class, but the office manager is another matter, after leaving my wife for 14 & half hours on two days in one week, I went into the office at Hythe to explain my concerns but was given short shift by the manager, she had NO empathy at all, it was only when another member of staff made a suggestion that hopefully the situation will be resolved

Review of Domus Live-In Care from Madeline S (Daughter of Client) published on 15 January 2025 Submitted via Website

I can't thank the Live-in Care team enough! The carers have been amazing with my mum who has dementia. They're so kind, patient, and really know how to keep her comfortable and happy. The management team has been super helpful too - always there when I needed anything or had questions. Honestly, they've made such a difference, and I'm so grateful for all their support. Thank you so much to everyone - you've been incredible!

Review of Westminster Homecare (North East London) from Kam K (Sister of Client) published on 6 January 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Some of the carers do not complete the time the allocated for, one of the carers become aggressive when approached about how much time is left. In addition some of them tamper with the times that they arrive and leave and write lies about the family in the visit logs. This is not indicative of all the carers as some have been okay.

Review of Westminster Homecare (South West London) from Jane H (Daughter of Client) published on 21 November 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

We give the highest compliments to Westminster Homecare, specifically the branch manager, Westminster Homecare Southwest London. The branch manager and her team cared for our very elderly mother with severe self-neglect and refusing all support. The branch manager supported and guided us with incredible expertise and professionalism. We had to rely on her and her team to be our "eyes and ears" to assess our mother's situation as we did not reside in the UK, yet could no longer move our mother. The branch manager showed extraordinary compassion and empathy, while offering practical solutions as our mother's condition deteriorated. Having the Westminster Homecare team, with the branch manager's guidance, provided us for the first time in many years with relief from worrying about our mother's situation. We want to also recognize the incredible work of the carers. Our mother was very hostile yet they treated her with such compassion and kindness. We cannot thank the Westminster Homecare Southwest team enough.

Carers are very good, especially the ones I have regularly. I have a couple of carers who I have regularly. This is helpful. They are very friendly and communicate well. Evening calls are rather early (8 pm sometimes). Carers are usually on time, lunch times can vary. The office is good.

Highly recommend Care at Home their carers are friendly and attentive and always willing to do whatever is needed and often go the extra mile. The only negative is the carers change often and they are not always able to accommodate ad hoc requirements such as an additional visit when needed. Overall though the service is excellent.

After my mother-in-law left hospital we were given a reablement care package from Westminster Homecare. A thorough assessment was made and the care started immediately.

The carers have been great, taking care of all her changing needs. They have been punctual, friendly and caring. Her free care has now finished and we have stayed with Westminster Homecare as we know she will continue to receive good care.

Good communication. Carers arrived on time. Support was kind, caring and professional. Staff were hardworking, helpful and knew what was needed to do.
Carers were supportive, held a good conversation with my dad and tended to his ever-changing needs with compassion.
Absolutely would recommend this company and their carers. Thank you so much for making Dad's last weeks as pleasant as possible. He got his wish to die in his home.

Thank you.

Our mother has been looked after so well by the managers and actual care staff. It has been a real period of trying to get stability for our mother who has dementia. They have listened and actioned any concerns we have had. I feel my mum is really looked after and I feel more secure someone is there for her a few times a day.

Beech Tree Total Care has provided 100% commitment in caring for my mum. My mum lives alone and looks forward to their visits, three times a day. The communication I receive from the office when they have concerns regarding my mum is so reassuring that someone is there. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Review of Care at Home Services (Hailsham) from Carol P (Daughter of Client) published on 2 October 2023 Submitted via Website

Mum was allocated Care at Home by Adult Social Services which was a reassuring endorsement for myself and my brothers. The care Mum receives is great. The carers are polite, kind and cheerful. The agency have done their very best to for carers with Mum's requirements. They are always at the end of the phone, they deal with everything with courtesy and understanding. At the time of writing, Mum has a team of carers who fit the brief completely, this is a positive response from the agency, and is very important as this attention to detail reduces stress and upset for everyone. The agency is great, my brother and I have every confidence in the team that works hard to support Mum and it means that Mum can stay at home which is very important for her. We have no hesitation in recommending the Care at Home team to anyone requiring support for an elderly relative.

Review of Care at Home Services (Hailsham) from H C (Client / Service User) published on 8 September 2023 Submitted via Website

Most staff polite, friendly and helpful. Sometimes an issue with language barrier, but quickly overcome. Would prefer the same team of about eight carers, rather than new carers all the time. Overall consistency with the same few carers would make care less embarrassing, or smoother. Overall polite and approachable. 9/10.

Thank you very much for your positive review. Our staff will be delighted with the feedback. We fully understand the frustration of having different carers and we hope this will settle down now the summer holidays are over.
