After my mum being in and out of hospital for the last few months.. social services put a rehab care package out to tender.
I am so grateful that we got Valley Care! They have made a stressful time so much easier!! Always at the end of the phone to answer any worries and help navigate the whole
care system as we are new to this.
As for the actual carers, well they have put a smile back on mums face!!! Chatty and cheerful as well as kind and professional!!
I can now relax for the first time in a while knowing my mum is in the best hands!!
Thankyou!!! Xx

Woeful.
Cancelled home visits twice in consecutive weeks.
Care staff did not read notes regarding required care and when asked stated they "did not have time to read notes" - this resulted in my father in law falling in the bathroom.
Calls to complain were forwarded to carers mobiles who were not
familiar with his case.
Just a truly terrible service offering very little actual care.
Reply from Kerry Naden, Regional Operations Manager at Valley Care DerbyshireThank you for your feedback. We are very sorry to read your review and feel that it does not fully reflect the circumstances surrounding this situation.

Due to our duty of care and confidentiality obligations, we are unable to share specific details publicly. However, we can confirm that concerns were raised regarding safety, and appropriate steps were taken to protect both the individual receiving care and our staff. This included requesting further professional input to ensure that care could be delivered safely.

We understand this may have been upsetting and apologise for any distress caused. We would very much welcome the opportunity to speak with you and the family directly to discuss your concerns further

My mother ( who is in her 90's ) has been a client of Valley Care Direct for over four years and during that time she has received very good/excellent domiciliary care. Over the years my mothers mobility and dementia have worsened and Valley Care 's management, co-coordinators and daily care staff have
been aware, supportive and considerate of my mothers changing needs. Valley Care has liaised with myself, social, medical, OT and incontinence services to ensure that my mother receives the best physical, emotional and practical support. Care Plans and daily care provision have been revised to provide my mother with the care that she requires. On a daily basis, Carers provide my mother with the personal care, medical, food ( meals ), laundry, mobility and emotional support that she needs in accordance with the Care Plan. Both my Mother and myself are grateful for the on - going care and professional support that my mother receives from Valley Care Direct.
Reply from Kerry Naden, Regional Operations Manager at Valley Care DerbyshireThankyou, its a pleasure to look after your mum. The team are very fond of her :)

Generally good, occasionally a little less so. Staff late, fail to care for my severely disabled condition with due diligence causing me pain and discomfort. Sometimes sending staff who have no knowledge of my specific needs. I often go into spasm during a call caused by the teams lack of care / knowledge
. I've a particularly sore bottom which I don't feel that they always take into account. Following a stroke over half my body does not function properly and parts of it are hyper - sensitive, yet staff often do not understand what effect this has and their care is not as sympathetic as it might be. I cannot speak and yet none of the staff understand sign language even at a basic level. Staff often talk to one another and don't include me or ignore me altogether. They rarely try to get to know me or understand my communication methodologies. I've written a web page detailing the skills that are required for adequate care
Reply from Amy Burrows, Registered Manager at Valley Care North NottinghamshireHi, Thank you for your review. All staff have access to your care plan on their handheld devices and can access what your medical needs are. All our staff are trained in the Care Certificate where Communication is part of that learning pathway but unfortunately Sign Language isn't yet part of that curriculum.

Valley Care provide an exceptional level of care.
All of the carers that came to help us support a 98 year old lady living at home were compassionate, kind and and very respectful.
It gave us peace of mind knowing she was regularly checked, helped with her daily needs and most of all had some wonderful
conversations with carers who genuinely took the time to stop and chat with her.
We would recommend anyone wanting to provide care at home to use Valley Care.
A great team!! Many thanks.

Valley Care staff go above and beyond any caring team we have experienced. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and very well trained. Without the care provided by them our Mum would have to be placed in a home. Mum is treated with dignity and respect and is much more comfortable being cared for
at home by the wonderful staff at Valley Care.

Poor attitude and arrogance of certain member of certain office staff. Also not all carers are as attentive and professional as others lacking a good service.
If it wasn't for my mother nit wanting to change companies, I personally would have done a long time ago

I chose Valley Care Derbyshire as it was local. All the staff and carers keep me fully informed of my dad's care package that is in place.
The carers talk to my dad as a person and get him to converse. They are friendly, caring, and are attentive to his needs.
The office staff contact me immediately
if the carers have any issues relating to my dad's health.
I would thoroughly recommend Valley Care Derbyshire for looking after someone's loved one as their care/needs are priority to the client and their family.

In January 2019 Valley Care came to look after my wife following sepsis. The care given was excellent and this continues during her fight with cancer- sadly she died Nov 2020- but Valley Care were so good and caring during lockdown especially. Since then I have continued to have a carer come in 1 hour
per week to help with domestic jobs. I know that I could also call on them if I was in trouble and needed personal care. All the staff are loving, caring, professional. Thank you all for myself and especially for my late wife.

I have been having the services of Valley Care some eight months now, to help care for my wife, who is sadly in the later stages of dementia, she is totally disabled. I do not have anything negative to say about them, all the carers have been respectful, kind, considerate, understanding and thoughtful
when caring for my wife's needs. The company is well run and I would, unreservedly, recommend them to anyone who is in need of a first class service for their loved one.

This so called care services have been put in place via social care assessment even after 2 weeks staff don't know the care plan or even seen it as nothing is on the app so we need to tell them everytime. I cannot get on the app yet even after being told i would be able to in 24hrs even when i called
regarding this im still waiting for a response!! 1st carer calling my mum by wrong name and spoke about her in front of her asking if "she's all there" thats not respect another hadnt completed training i know this cause i asked questions about who they are etc no respect no introduction when they have turned up then I've been told by the office they have logged in which was a lie and they've not even turned up no wonder I cannot leave my mum unsupervised if This is the so called care you offer what the hell when you are looking after frail elderly with medical conditions absolute joke definitely not one I would recommend at this time i'm now waiting on my email and what response I get!

Where to start with this company. Chosen by social services as an interim company while client in safeguarding. Out of the frying pan into the fire comes to mind. The first thing you should do when you enter a clients house for the 1st time is introduce yourself and read the care plan. Neither of these
things happened. Shocking hygiene standards. Tried to clean client with bathroom cleaning cloth. Had to be told to change gloves after performing personal care before making food. Then proceeded to grumble in their own language obviously didn't like being told how to do their job. Security issues with key safe. Serving hot drink in a glass. Washing literally thrown onto the clothes airer with items inside each other. No common sense whatsoever and basically no empathy or caring skills. This company needs to read the care act regarding dignity & respect. I could go on but it's too personal. CQC have been informed as has LA commissioning team and local MP is next. AVOID!
Reply from Maura Duggan, Registered Manager at Valley Care SheffieldThis care package was complex and I apologise that we did not meet the standards you required. I can assure you that all carers have full training in personal care, the importance of changing PPE between tasks. All of the above concerns have been addressed and investigated per company policies and procedures
