Home Instead (Stockport, Tameside & Manchester Central)

One of the carers took my Mum for a drive out to Reddish Vale Park to feed the birds. She had made some homemade soup and some homemade chocolate brownies, so they could have a picnic. She got the blanket from her car and they sat on a bench and enjoyed each others company. This lady has been amazing with my Mum.

Home Instead have been brilliant from the onset. From the initial form-filling to the first meeting with my mum. They take some if the pressure of for the family and the care has been very very good. My mum has felt safe.

On contacting Home Instead to provide overnight supervision for my mum, after repeated overnight falls, I found them to be most helpful and accommodating. I dealt with the care manager who is an absolute star, working late to ensure that the care could be put in place from that night. They have provided this service for a few days so far and their carers have been excellent, caring and compassionate.

I would happily recommend Home Instead as a good quality provider.

I just want to say a huge thank you to all the team and especially my mum's main carer. Following an extremely long stay in hospital five years ago, my mum finally returned home to live alone with the amazing care from Home Instead. Home Instead enabled my mum to stay at home and regain her independence. For the past 5 years, it has been so reassuring for me, living 400 miles away, to know that she was receiving incredible care on a daily basis. A huge thank you to everyone involved in her care.

First-class. All the caregivers have been excellent from day one. My aunt couldn't have been looked after any better. Please pass on my thanks to all those angels that have been looking after my aunt.

From the moment a representative came to see us and discuss how their care system worked, I knew that Home Instead would work for us. Great care was taken to get to know my partners interests and these were used to make conversation from the carer to my partner. The fact that a full hour was allocated was great, as there was no rush but all the personal care was taken of while the carer was chatting throughout the time allowed which relaxed my partner.

The carer from Home Instead was a wonderful companion for my defiantly independent, 95-year-old uncle. She was a genuinely caring person who won my uncle's trust and even appreciation. Not a small thing with my grumpy old uncle.

From May 2016 until my father's death in April 2020, we have found Home Instead to be a reliable and caring organisation. We always felt safe and confident that Dad was well cared for. On a couple of occasions, they had carers who performed below an acceptable level, and on these rare instances, they took immediate and decisive action. Indeed, they would tell us if carers were a concern. They truly cared for my dad, and he had the utmost trust in them.

The standard of training is excellent, and the carers are a dedicated team. The management could be a little more efficient on occasions, but the service is a good one.

We have been very satisfied with care we have received.

My mother has had excellent care from Home Instead, beginning with daily home help and increasing to personal care, and finally (only the last fortnight before she left to go into full-time care) care in the evenings. Her personal preferences were implemented impeccably, her Parkinson's needs were well understood and many of the carers felt like friends. Having an hour's care was really helpful, especially for my mother, who could only take things very slowly!

My only criticism is the decision by management to require 28 days notice of cancellation from 7/14 days which makes changes difficult for the client.

Because of the help, skill and kindness of their caregivers, office personnel and management, my parents are able to remain living in their own home rather than having to move to a care home (which neither of them wants).

A really pleasant experience for me. Very professionally managed. It was my birthday and flowers and cards were bought for me. Thank you Home Instead.

Very very good. Some are like my family because I have known them for a long time. Others are becoming so. If I ever have the smallest "lack of gel" with someone, I just have to say. I regard them as friends.

My mum-in-law said she didn't need care after her hip operation. She was in HDU for a week twice as long as expected due to her heart failure. She is now up and running again due to Home Instead's daily visits. Our parents are a worry they think they are fine. As we know this means they need TLC. Just what you gave her for us!

I enjoy going out to the local shops together and have a coffee and a chat. If I need help to get to appointments my carer is always willing to take me. She feels like a friend.

Home Instead provided a companion for my father for the last few weeks of his life. None of the family lived nearby so a companion for 2 hours every day enhanced the quality of the time he had left. Regular contact from the Home Instead team gave me peace of mind knowing someone was with dad when I couldn't be there.

Home Instead care team and staff were excellent in the way of love and care they gave to my mother and me.
