From the initial introduction through to their last visit, we were completely happy with every aspect of my fathers care.
Nothing is too much trouble which makes the visits enjoyable.
Many thanks for your feedback Margaret. I know that our CAREGivers very much enjoy visiting you and it is great to know that our service continues to meet your needs.
I cannot fault the care given to my dad. All the carers are brilliant, they often go beyond requirements to ensure dad is safe and well. They are totally reliable and we have particularly appreciated the consistency of care and caregiver, which we have not experienced with other agencies. The management has always gone out of their way, to help with short notice requirements when possible. I would highly recommend this company.
My father has now passed away and his health deteriorated over the past year. He was initially reluctant to have outside help but found the carer to be friendly and helpful and was comfortable having her call.
Of late I have concerns over certain issues such as changes to the care workers expected to visit, with very little notice given. Whilst appreciating holidays/illness cause problems, this seems to be happening more frequently.
Having the same care worker(s) whenever possible is a priority.
I don't like the fact that the person doing assessments also sometimes serves as a care worker.
As I mentioned during my visit, some of the changes to your schedule have come about due to short-term absences. Nevertheless, the changes have not been managed as they should have and we will make sure this does not happen again. The person carrying out your last assessment had indeed provided...
One of the most important things for my aunt, who had been diagnosed with dementia, was the relationships she had formed with her regular team of carers. Routine was also important, and the times of the visits were consistent every week. The carers were always kind and considerate, and as I lived so far away it was so reassuring to me that they were willing to keep in touch with me, passing on any concerns they had regarding my aunt's situation. The girls seemed to have had a genuine fondness for my aunt, and on the occasions of her birthday and Christmas would "go the extra mile" to try to make it as special as they could. When my aunt had a terrible fall in her home, the senior carer went with her to the hospital until a family member was able to get there, providing reassurance and a friendly face at a time of deep distress.
Your time completing this review is much appreciated. I am glad our CAREGivers were able to make a difference to your Aunt's life, it is lovely to hear they built such good relationships with her. We are very lucky to have such a great team!
When our mother was diagnosed with vascular dementia in 2011, we engaged the services of Home Instead to assist mum with everyday tasks. I can honestly say it is thanks to Home Instead, and the fabulous care mum received, that she was able to stay in her own home for as long as she did. Home Instead felt like an extended part of our family; from the owner, who takes such a personal approach to the business and genuinely cares about his clients, through to the office staff, led by the wonderful office manager, who are all so helpful and responsive, but particularly the CAREgivers themselves, who I cannot praise enough. They regularly went above and beyond the call of duty and always displayed the utmost respect for mum. Particular thanks to the two carers, who brought such joy and happiness to mum and for who nothing was too much trouble, you are a credit to your profession. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the services of Home Instead and in fact, I regularly do!
Thank you for your lovely words. We are incredibly proud of our team who do a fantastic job and it is good to hear we were able to ensure your mum could remain at home feeling safe.
Thank you so much to all the carers involved with helping dad to stay in his own home. They have been a truly outstanding team all going the extra mile to enable his independence and enjoyment of life. As we have lived at a distance away it has been reassuring to know that he was always safe and cared for by people he knew and carers who wanted to share his life story. A truly amazing team who rose to the challenge and made life easier as it became more complicated. A heartfelt thank you!
Thank you for your kind words. It is great to know that through the dedication of our CAREGivers we were able to help your dad remain independent, safe and enjoying life.
Sunday visits. Important to me as I live alone. The companionship and genuine interest in me as an elderly person who had an interesting career in teaching in the past.
I am sorry to learn that your opinion of the support provided is only satisfactory. I have looked at our records and cannot find any notes regarding service issues, only details of quality assurance calls when you expressed your complete satisfaction with the service. Nevertheless, there must have...
She also takes me to my doctor's surgery whenever necessary for tests and diabetes checks. I enjoy her company each week and get on well with her finding her easy to be with and easy to talk to. She also takes me to my post office whenever necessary.
Showing her exceptional friendly respect and affection in their manner of caring for her.
She has been extremely safe in their professional care, which gave me peace of mind.
I have no hesitation in recommending this company to others who need caregivers, emphasising they are a company who care about their clients and families.
When the care first began, we did have a few problems with caregivers being incompatible with mums care requirement and also personality suitability. We stuck with it and were finally, absolutely delighted with the caregivers. Mum was well cared for by two wonderful ladies, who we trusted completely, and more importantly, mum loved. They helped me care for mum in her final days, with great care and gentleness, always maintaining mums dignity. Their perception and understanding of mums dementia was wonderful. Our caregivers were Angels and now visit daily.
Many thanks for your comments. Yes, we do sometimes have challenges regarding compatibility of CAREGivers despite carefully considering the needs and background of the individual being supported. This is particularly important when supporting somebody with Dementia. We do however have the...
Their friendly carers helped the transition considerably. Safe independence was encouraged as much as possible and visits adapted as her needs changed.
Having moved to a Care Home recently, my mother misses these friendly visits which helped with physical care and also included much-valued companionship.
Mum's two caregivers were very thoughtful and professional about the care they gave and were very well trained. They developed a good understanding of Mum's needs and helped her maintain her independence.
My parents both in their 90's used Home Instead for a year after my father came out of the hospital and before they both went into a care home (as their health had deteriorated too much for them to be safe in their home). My father has Alzheimer's, the caregivers treated them with respect and dignity and did the tasks I'd requested. If they had any concerns someone always rang me. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
I am pleased with them. A Christmas lunch was organised by them and many attended. There were plenty of sandwiches, cakes etc and entertainment including a school choir singing carols and Christmas songs.
I have used the above agency for the past 2 years and all the girls have been lovely and I have enjoyed their help and companionship.
We have used this company to help us care for mum for 3 years and found them to be a very useful, caring and accommodating if schedules needed to be altered or additional hours were required. Mum has had several Care Givers over the 3 years and all have provided exceptional services.
We would highly recommend Home Instead to anyone.
My mother has used this care provider for just over 2 and a half years. I have found the carers to be very considerate to my mother, aware of her needs and have kept me fully informed of any requirements, health issues and general information concerning my mother. I have no hesitation in recommending them to others.
The carers who have been visiting mum for the last 6 months have provided excellent care. They have been very punctual and have treated her in a respectful and dignified manner. I would have no hesitation in recommending the service.
