It was a very good service from start to finish. The assessment was thorough and the assessor was very patient and understanding. The carer who was assigned to help my aunt was lovely. She was caring, patient, understanding and had a good sense of humour. The carer was reliable, always arriving on time, and checked what she was expected to do or what needed doing. We did not use the service for very long as my aunt's circumstances changed, but for the short time, we used the service I was confident my aunt was being well cared for.

This was a very good experience overall, considering the tragic circumstances.
Care was easy to set up. Gardiners Homecare were able to start at quite short notice (4 days) and were fully up to speed in 6 days.
Management was always responsive and sympathetic. Communication within Gardiners was exceptionally good. They really worked as a team.
We experienced a variety of carers. Most were excellent. One or two were merely good. My poor wife found just one carer difficult and we only had to feed this back and she never came again. One or two were outstanding including the one we saw most of.
Punctuality was always perfect. Comings and goings were unobtrusive.

I realise that this service, while good value for money, may be out of reach for many on financial grounds. However it enabled my poor wife to be as comfortable as possible at home right to the end, which was what she wanted. I am very grateful for that. Combined with strong support from District Nurses and our GP we were indeed fortunate.

Gardiners were very quickly able to put a daily carer in place for two weeks for my mum after a fall. The carer was lovely and my mum got reassurance from her help with bathing and getting ready for the day. We were able to extend the care for a further week at short notice as my mum wasn't quite ready to "go it alone". She enjoyed seeing a friendly face every morning at 7am. Admin staff and carers lovely. Won't hesitate to use Gardiners again should the need arise.

I highly recommend Gardiner's who cared for my elderly father. I did not live locally and felt confident that my father received high-quality care. Carers arrived on time and provided the care that was planned, careers even went beyond if it was needed. My father had consistent careers and had confidence in them, he had a good report and felt safe in their care. For me what I found particularly excellent was that Gardiner's always communicated with me well, if there were any changes in my dad’s needs they were accessible at all times and responsive. I am an ex-nurse and have experienced many care agencies. I would say that Gardiner's are an excellent company and for what they provided value for money.

The care was very well balanced to look after my uncle who suffers from dementia and to support mum following a hip operation. The carers were friendly and quickly understood the different needs of the two residents. They gave mum the support she needed to help her back to her independent living and made sure that my uncle was well cared for during a confusing and worrying time for him. The carers not only supported mum and uncle but also gave the rest of the family confidence to know that they were being well looked after. Thank you to all involved.

We have been using Gardiner's Homecare for over two years to provide home care for Mum.

They have always been very caring, ensuring Mum took her medication and helping with showering and preparing meals etc. We had regular meetings with Mum's care manager to discuss her needs and we were always kept informed. During the two years, we were never let down and that gave us peace of mind, knowing Mum was safe. We can't thank Gardiner's Homecare enough and would highly recommend them.

We used Gardiner's Homecare for my father's care when he was ill with terminal cancer. We arranged carers every morning to assist with personal care. All of his Gardiner's Homecare carers were friendly and efficient but most of all caring. They took time to chat with him and make sure he was happy, comfortable and ensured he was dealt with in a dignified manner. The whole team were friendly, helpful and took the time to get to know my dad so that he felt comfortable and important. In his final days Gardiner's Homecare provided night nurses who were professional, understanding and reassuring. I would one hundred percent recommend their services.

Gardiners provided a wonderful service with morning and respite visits for my mum in the final few weeks of her life. The care staff were extremely well trained and, as I was full-time care for the rest of the day, I learnt much from them on the best way things are done. The conversations were also well appreciated too. I cannot recommend this company highly enough.

The wonderful staff at Gardiner's Homecare looked after my dad for two years and allowed him to live in his own home up to and beyond 100. We cannot praise the carers enough, they all got to know Dad, learnt about his needs, and were always very patient. They all became friends as well as carers. Unfortunately, he has had to go into a care home and I know he will miss them all.

Gardiners were extremely helpful when my father suddenly needed 24-hour care, and there was no help available from statutory agencies. All the carers who looked after my father were kind, caring and professional. The management team in the office were also very kind and helpful, supporting me through a very stressful time. Great service all-round.

Over 3 years my husband received excellent care from all his Gardiner's Homecare carers. They were all well trained, sympathetic and managed all situations.

Because of their excellent abilities, combined with my own care, my husband was able to die peacefully at home and thankfully a move to a care home or hospital was avoided.

For more than 14 years we have worked with Gardiners, initially to help our mum during her years with dementia and subsequently, they have cared for our dad. Their professionalism, kindness and respect have always been outstanding and during lockdown when 24hr care was suddenly needed, they put in place a plan which was exemplary. Office and carers alike, they are outstanding and we are so grateful for everything they have done. We would not hesitate to recommend them.

I used Gardiner's care agency for several years and found their service to be very professional. My husband had a number of different carers and we found them all most pleasant. They looked after his complex needs and helped me deal with some of the emotional stress which came as his condition worsened. I would definitely recommend this agency to anyone who needed care in their own home.

My mother was cared for by Gardiners over the last 6-years until sadly passing away on 1st May 2020 at the great old age of 94. Having carers 3-times a day enabled Mum to remain living on her own at home, my father having passed away in 2001. Mum always referred to the carers as ‘ her girls’. Every day she updated them on all the gossip she read in her magazines and told them what was coming on TV that day. She was always interested to talk about their families and about what was going on in our family. She told everyone that visited her and I’m sure the carers regularly that she was the same age as the Queen. She was our Queen, and I used to tell her that the family and Gardiners looked after her like the Queen. So on behalf of the family, I’d like to thank Gardiners for caring for Mum and enabling her to remain living in her ‘Castle’, I know that she very much enjoyed all the chats and care that her ‘ girls’ gave her, and looked forward to every visit. Thank you.

I found Gardiners to be extremely efficient, caring and flexible. As the needs of their client changed they adjusted their services accordingly, sometimes at very short notice. I wanted, whenever possible, for the same small group of carers to visit so their client knew and recognised them and this almost always happened. As well as cooking and cleaning for her they willingly took her out to the shops, and to appointments. She came to look upon them as her friends. They respected her desire to retain, where possible, her independence but at the same time ensured she received the care she needed. I cannot thank all of the carers enough. I would also like to thank the office staff who were approachable, understanding and always tried to carry out their tasks in a positive manner.

Over the past 18 months, Gardiner's have consistently provided professional, compassionate, understanding and responsive care for my father, adapting to his changing needs. They have enabled him to remain as independent in his home as possible, always treating him with kindness and respect. They have often needed to provide extra care at short notice and have been calm and efficient in doing so - it helps me as the next of kin as I know that I am part of a team providing the best support possible for my Dad, which is very reassuring for a next of kin.

Gardiners provided excellent care and support to my mother-in-law for over two years until she recently moved to a care home. She had poor mobility and dementia but the good care and support enabled her to stay in her own home for as long as possible. Her carers were kind, thoughtful, considerate and reliable. Also, the good communication between family, carers and the care manager meant that any medical problems were soon resolved. The carers were also happy to feed her pets. Our family would definitely recommend them.

My mum was diagnosed with moderate cognitive impairment. Unfortunately, she lost her husband quite some time ago and my sister and I both live out of the country. It is very important to my mum that she remain living at home for as long as possible. We have arranged to have Gardiners come in twice a day to help her take her medicine, overall health, keep her place up, pick up groceries, make sure she is eating and drinking and have companionship. The CareGivers at Gardiners are so lovely, they treat her with respect and gently guide and prompt her to do what she needs to do. They are warm and she feels comforted by them. Most importantly they have literally been lifesavers a few times when Mum has been sick but did not call for help. The Gardiners Team allows my mum to stay at home safely which is so important to her and allows my sister and I to feel that we are respecting her wishes and keeping her safe. We are thrilled with Gardiners and couldn't survive without them.
