The Carers at HRM Homecare looked after my dad after he had come home from hospital, and I can honestly say that the care and support which my dad received was world class. He was visited 4 times a day, and my dad genuinely looked forward to every visit - calling the carers "his girls", and building a strong relationship in such a short space of time. Had we as a family been able to hand-pick a team of individuals to look after my dad, we could not have chosen anyone better. Thank you so much to everyone involved, we will be forever grateful.

Caring and friendly support with respect and courtesy. Support staff take into account my partners limitations and treat her with care. Always ask if there is anything more that they can do to help with anything she might be struggling with.

We are happy with the care my uncle receives. The care staff are friendly, efficient and very patient. We are very grateful for their support, especially during the pandemic. If there are any issues, we are told about them straight away.

Mum has been receiving care for two years now and has had challenges and has deteriorated within that time. I am so grateful to the staff that care for her, they are kind, compassionate and have built a lovely relationship with Mum, they go beyond what is stated in their job description and I cannot thank them enough.

Over the last year, my experience with HRM Homecare Services has been exceptional. They have never not turned up. Despite being seriously understaffed due to Covid I have had the operations manager and area manager doing my care when needed, even on Christmas and New Year's days. They have also supplied agency when required. I can't fault them at all. Staff are courteous and helpful at all times, even going in their own time to get my phone fixed when it broke in hospital and my support workers kept not turning up when I got home, nipping to the pharmacy and getting essential food items for the same reason, without getting paid for these times either. I'd just like to say a huge thank you to all the girls.

I feel we have to pick up lots of pieces and the carers only do the bare minimum. The carers always leave things behind and we have to clean up. Most of the carers cannot cook and we have to prepare and do dishes etc. They also do not see to Nana's toilet needs and leave her to her own devices and we have to help some days, she can't get about. We have to tell them to wash her etc.

Outstanding, first-class service provided by a kind, efficient and friendly team. The app provided is invaluable, as I can check daily in between my visits that Mum has received her visit, and the feedback given by carers reassures me that all is well.

The usual carers are very professional and helpful but I feel any agency staff that come in are just there for the money and to do as little as possible.
A special mention to the manager who was very helpful in addressing a small issue which we had.

Mum started with carers at the end of January so very early days. We have been impressed with the service and staff have gone out of their way to help her. Due to staff shortages, she has had a few late visits. Would definitely recommend.

I think HRM Homecare Services - South West is the same as any private care company, the more clients they take on the more money they make, this puts the carers under pressure so the client suffers as the carers try to get in and out as quickly as possible so client does not get the time allocated. Also there is no continuity of care as they keep changing the carers.
Social Care is facing an unprecedented national recruitment shortage in both the statutory, third and independent sectors and we are also still in the grips of a global pandemic. Unfortunately, as a result, staff shortages and amendments...

Lynn is the CEO of HRM Homecare Services.
Lynn founded HRM Homecare Services in 1994. Lynn’s focus has always been her children, and as such, she named the company after them (HRM - Heather, Russell & Mhairi). Supporting others was the kernel for the creation of the business in 1994, and an ethos of compassionate care and support remains the principal driver of all aspects of HRM’s service delivery today.
