All carers have carried out Dad's care to a very high standard; all are extremely well-mannered and punctual and genuinely seem to have Dad's best interests at heart. Excellent communication with ourselves. Consistency is maintained through the various carers attending. Overall, we and Dad are very happy. From an office and administration point of view, all staff have been helpful, thorough and of an exemplary standard. During Dad's care, it has allowed us to have peace of mind about the level of care Dad is receiving.
It really does make a big difference where the care you provide gives my dad something to look forward to. I am the primary carer for my dad, so your intervention helps me too.
In particular, we would like for you to pass on our thanks to one particular staff member. He was the first carer from Seren to enter our house and has set the bar high in terms of looking after my dad.
He takes the time to talk to him in our own language (Urdu), which is easier for my dad to speak and understand, as English is his second language.
They have generated a really good relationship, and he will always ask him ‘are you coming tomorrow’?
Thanks again for the services that you provide; it is very much appreciated.
The Seren Support team have been calling twice weekly to assist with my husband's shower. I am extremely grateful for this as it is quite a difficult task for me. I have an ongoing back problem, which puts us both at risk, so help is very welcome.
Carers are chatty, and Mum likes them.
My husband and I thank all the kind people who call on us. Thankful that we know someone will be here should help be needed. It has been good to see a smiling face and have a "wee" chat about this and that. We have shared laughter and been shown real empathy when it has been needed. Seren treats us with dignity and kindness. So it's much appreciated - thank you.
I am very satisfied with the help my mother had from the carers; they always help.
The carers are excellent and do everything stated on the care plan. My husband is treated with respect. I have full confidence that he is in safe, capable hands and that he feels comfortable. He would prefer the continuity of carers, but we understand that this has been a difficult time for the care industry. When there are changes in times and carers, we would like to be kept informed.
My mum has been cared for by Seren for over six years. We consider ourselves to be very fortunate. Our carers are trustworthy, kind and loving... my mum says she feels "safe". Some staff have known her all this period, continuity of visits is excellent. As a daughter, who lives 2-hours away, I know I can approach office staff between visits, and we enjoy a cooperative relationship. Well done, and thank you!
My mum, who has vascular dementia, needed extra care after hospitalisation in Jan 2021. Seren stepped in to help support her and myself in March 2021. There have been a few timing issues, but this is mainly due to the increased pressure on the frontline staff due to the pandemic. I have found the carers to be kind and considerate to mum's needs, and their support along with the support we as a family provide has ensured that as per my mum's wishes, she is able to stay in her own home. It also gives me peace of mind as I work full-time so that I know that first thing in the morning Mum has a visit, so her needs are attended to, breakfast made, help with a shower, medication given etc. If I need to speak to anybody in the office for any reason, then I have been able to get hold of them easily during their working hours.
How the carers cope with last-minute changes to their schedule is a source of wonder! The only thing I would like to see changed would be the communication when things are going wrong as it is very awkward for old people like me, who find it hard to try to coordinate the carer's visit with the preparation of meals. A telephone call is all it needs.
Carers are prompt, polite and happy to help.
I am satisfied with the service I receive from the carers. I would like to know who is coming more often, and I don't care for too many changes in routine. Otherwise, I am pleased with the carers.
We are happy with the care the team gives to my grandmother. We find that communication between the staff and the office/admin could improve however also appreciate how things can get overlooked due to time constraints. My grandmother says she likes the personal touches that she gets some of the staff on calls, doing her hair, buying her little treat from Greggs etc. All in all, we are grateful for the help and care the team provides to my Gran as she is very important to our family.
Generally pleased with Seren care, although my mother does get upset when there are changes and she is not familiar with the interim care, although we understand holiday and sickness, the carer has to be accepted. We sometimes feel that some calls are rushed in order for the carers to get to the next client, and provision should be in place for these scenarios!
My mother has a team of four carers who provide a good and friendly service. My mother feels comfortable with them all. They all show a lot of care and compassion to her. They also keep in touch with anything they are concerned about, which I really like.
Seren Support Services Ltd are a God send and I would be lost without them, especially after we lost my dad. We had a bad experience with a previous care company so mum was very nervous but they were sympathetic and also very caring towards mum's needs and still are. I work full time so the girls are there three times a day and nothing is too much trouble. The lovely thing is, mum likes routine and likes things just so, so normally unless it is hard to do she has the same girls as much as possible so there is a lovely bond. It's such a comfort to know she's so well looked after when I'm at work and if they do have holidays they always let us know if changes need to be made but this is very rare. Through this awful pandemic they have been outstanding with all PPE being worn throughout their visits. Nothing is too much for this excellent care provider and I would recommend them one hundred percent. I can't thank them enough for all their hard work and support, you truly are Angels. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I should have been able to go to my mother's wake, not very genuine were they.
On 15-3-2021 waiting for the carer to come and shower Mum, did not turn up; so phoned to see why someone had cancelled the call. Not been told this, could not tell us who has cancelled the call. My mum was really upset about this. My mum is on heart tables and does not need these totally upsetting things going on. She has been upset before with not turning up, and this is not good enough!
Staff very reliable. Thanks to all, much appreciated.
I'm happy with the care I receive from Seren and have no problems at all. I find the carers all very helpful.
