Overall Experience

As a close friend of someone who receives care from Alcedo Care, I've seen firsthand the positive difference their support has made. From the very beginning, the carers have shown genuine compassion, professionalism, and respect, not just toward my friend but also toward the people around them.

What

stands out most is how personalised the care is. The staff take the time to really understand my friend's needs, preferences, and routines, which has given them a renewed sense of independence and confidence. Communication has also been excellent - I always feel reassured knowing my friend is in safe, capable, and caring hands.

It's clear that Alcedo Care doesn't just provide a service; they build trusting relationships and truly care about the wellbeing of their clients. As someone who cares deeply about my friend, I'm incredibly grateful for the support Alcedo Care provides and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, compassionate care.

Overall Experience

Alcedo Care are carers for my daughter and I cannot speak more highly about them, "best in class service". Two carers inparticular have been absolutely amazing with my daughter going over an above to make her feel confortable, happy and at ease. They are Clare and Elle-Nicole - both brilliant.

My daughter has various special needs and is not always the easiest person to deal with but both Clare and Elle found a way instantly and built up a very trusting, special bond. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH, your care has changed all our lives for the better, we cannot thank you enough. You are all so professional and caring - definitely in the right field. Just brilliant :-)

I have recently had an assessment for my mum with Michelle, she was very thorough when explaining the service and what they can support with. The service has been fantastic including the communication from the start with the manager Heather, she offered reassurance and guidance from the off set to make

sure everything was right for our family. I would highly recommend.

Overall Experience

Alcedo had to start caring for our Aunt living with Dementia with no handover from previous carers and with no notice. They handled the situation with professionalism and above all, care. They have gone above and beyond what we asked for in order to care for our aunt to the highest level.

From day 1, alcedo have been first class.
This is a new thing for us and hoped everything would be ok. I need not have worried as the staff have been amazing, kind and caring. The carers are superb with dad. Follow up calls as well asking how dad was.

Overall Experience

We have needed to rely on Alcedo Care for help when our own carers have been unavailable, they have proved to be professional, reliable and consistent, which has meant the stress of difficult situations has been very much reduced.
Over the summer we have had one of our own carers off work on long term

sick, without the help of Alcedo I would have struggled to look after my son properly, they have been a god send to me and my family.

Overall Experience

We asked Alcedo Trafford to supply a care package for our elderly father. The staff were initially friendly and helpful but all that changed when we noticed discrepancies between the care reports and invoices. Our queries were met with avoidance and silence. When we eventually received a response Alcedo

insisted on billing us for visits even though there was no proof that they had taken place. When we refused to pay for undocumented visits, Alcedo terminated the contract.
Being so utterly disappointed with the way our concerns were dealt with, we reported our experience to the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We have found Alcedo to be a company who prioritises financial gain over care and accountability. When they lost our trust, it raised serious concerns over the welfare of our father. We feel it is our duty to highlight our experience and needless to say, we would not recommend this company to anyone.

The issues raised appear to stem from a dispute over care costs which was not upheld. All visits are recorded through our electronic system, and a thorough investigation was conducted into your concerns, with a detailed response sent to you. We did not receive any follow-up communication to address further queries. The termination of the care package followed all steps to resolve the matter and was in line with our terms of service. The claim that we prioritise financial gain over care is false; we are committed to delivering high-quality care. While we're not financially motivated, we must charge for care to sustain our service and pay our carers. We pride ourselves on building strong client relationships and would welcome further discussion to address any concerns.

My carers have become family to me, they are always there with a kind word or an ear.

Absolutely brilliant company and helped give me a lot more independence after becoming disabled. Overall Experience

The care team from Alcedo supported my parents (and us) with understanding, kindness, wisdom and grace.
They completed the tasks in the care plan generally successfully but any problems were dealt with quickly.
All of the staff I had contact with were helpful, friendly, honest and clearly liked

and respected Mum and Dad. Many of them went the extra mile to help us and Mum and Dad and when unusual situations arose they were solution
focused and encouraging.
Unfortunately, we have had to change care company due to a council-based request. Thank you to all the team at Alcedo Bury, we will miss you.

My mother was supported by carers from Alcedo Care. The ladies who came to visit my mum were so understanding and spent the full time supporting my mum with personal care and administering medication and meals. When they had finished supporting her physically, they would spend any extra time having

chats with her. They were all truly amazing.

Overall Experience

This service is mediocre at best. My main concern is medication and timing of visits. But there are other concerns as well. Inconsistency of carers and their practice. Which is fundamental to good practice in dementia care. Some carers do not read the tasks. There have been at least 3 medication errors.

A lot of the staff accept Mum's first refusal to have personal care or change her inco pads, instead of trying to encourage participation. I appreciate that there are time constraints, but some carers really don't try. One carer is excellent and never fails to maintain Mum's dignity and hygiene, but she is the only exception. A lot of the carers lack initiative and are very task-orientated. Some of them are very loud, which Mum does not always appreciate.
I thought that having carers to support Mum at key times during the day would be a source of support and much-needed respite from my caring role. Unfortunately it has been a huge source of stress!
