Home Instead was recommended to me for my mum who was fighting to remain independent but was struggling with dementia and found the days quite long. The ladies came in for an hour a day to have a chat and a coffee with mum and even took her out sometimes to the local park for coffee (which she loved). Mum loved the company and the fact that she would see someone every day when the family weren't able to visit and for us, it was reassurance that someone would see her daily and in effect, keep an eye on her.

Sadly Mum had to go into a home in November but Home Instead definitely gave her a few more months in her own home and I have since recommended them to friends of mine in a similar situation.

Overall Experience

I am most grateful for the amazing care that was given to my mother over the last six months. I cannot fault the professionalism and compassion that not only the carers showed but also the office staff. They looked after my mother as a person and she enjoyed every one of their visits. I was contacted immediately if there were any concerns as to my mother and they took the initative to contact the doctor and district nurse when necessary. So much so they are now looking after my father. I can totally recommend Home Instead Senior Care Welwyn & Hatfield. They always go the extra mile for which I thank them.

Overall Experience
Since we had a crisis with my mother in September 2017 Home Instead have provided care twice a day, seven days a week. Over this time my mother's condition has fluctuated against a background of slow deterioration and increased dependency.
All of the carers that my mother has experienced have been caring and compassionate. Many have shown initiative beyond the call of duty and they have been very effective at liaising with me and my brother to keep us in the picture. The app is a real innovation as it means you can keep an eye on what is happening in real time for minimal cost.

The reason that we are not continuing is that my mother's situation has deteriorated further and she requires more frequent care which it is easier to deliver on site.

We have only been using services for a short time but I am impressed with the level of care provided.

The carers seem genuinely to care and show concern and respect for my mother. They have come promptly and taken trouble to make her feel secure. It feels like we are a team working to look after her.

I highly recommend Home Instead Senior Care Welwyn & Hatfield for the fantastic care they gave Mum. From the first meeting, they were friendly and experienced. The team had skill sets covering all aspects of care. They are very professional. They saw Mum as a person and took time to get to know her. When a district nurse was required they made all the arrangements and a caregiver was there too. Mum looked forward to seeing them and they had a special rapport with her. As her family, we were always kept fully informed. Yes a totally first class experience for Mum and us!

The service is extremely flexible and has adapted instantly to changes in need and hospital stays. The online visit reporting system is excellent and means that we can talk to Dad about his day, what he had to eat etc.

Home Instead, Welwyn and Hatfield, has been providing regular care and support for my parents for some time. The outstanding quality of care service provided is second to none. They employ hardworking and genuinely caring staff who are entirely flexible and very able in the varied support areas they undertake, whilst providing the routine and continuity that is so needed.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead, who provide personal care for my mother, following her stroke. They are very reliable, punctual, caring and efficient. My mother is delighted and I am very relieved to know she is in safe hands. I feel that I would be able to ask Home Instead for further help, if needed.

My father has been receiving care from Home Instead Welwyn and Hatfield only within the last few months.
In such a short period of time, I have seen such a change in my dad, not only his appearance but also his wellbeing and self-dignity.

His whole outlook has improved and feels totally comfortable with his carers and trusting the services.

The team are responsive and caring. They will alert me to any issues regarding my Mother's health and well-being which is most appreciated as I live a distance away. They have responded quickly to the need to increase care calls following a hospital stay. There are regular service reviews and always someone on the end of the phone every day of the week. They have been very helpful in dealing with changing medications e.g. a course of antibiotics.

The carers are all lovely and the main carer, who comes most days for an hour, always goes the extra mile. They all work hard to establish a good rapport with my Mother.

I have been particularly impressed by the personal assistance and interest received by all the carers.
They always have a heart to heart talk and they have been helpful in the varied tasks and assistance sought.

I called in Home Instead Senior Care (Welwyn & Hatfield) following the special support over some months prior to my late wife's demise mid-2017.

We have not started to use Home Instead regularly, however, the senior carer who made the first home assessment visit was great. She knew what to ask, when to talk and when to listen. She seemed genuinely interested in my aunt and this gave my aunt the confidence that she would be treated as an individual and with dignity by Home Instead. This is why she has chosen to use them. It is too soon to review what the day to day care provision is like and so I have entered 'Satisfactory' in the review options provided. This review is simply feedback about the initial visit.

Just recently started using Home Instead Senior Care (Welwyn & Hatfield). So far we are really pleased with the care my wife received. Every carer is always very professional and all have a very kind nature. My wife feels very at ease with them and they treat my wife with dignity and kindness.

My mother is being extremely well supported by Home Instead careers. They are a lifeline for her and me. I would not be able to cope without their support. My mother has dementia and they are flexible and tolerant in their approach to her, combined with a sense of humour!

Visits this year meant I could attend my daughter’s wedding in Portugal.
